I searched for an instructional video showing how to install the Volquartsen Target Hammer, but all of the videos that I found were not very detailed and the quality of the video was horrible. I ran across your video and I'm glad that I did. Thank you for providing such an informative video, I don't think I would have been able to install my kit as fast as I did without your video! Thanks again!!
I didn't realize how bad my 10/22 trigger felt until I shot my friends gun. I used my fishing scale to test my trigger, and it was over 8lbs every time. After looking around on the Internet I ordered the Volquartsen kit. I installed it with the help of this video, and my trigger pull is now 3lbs. It feels like a totally different gun! I ordered shims to fill the gap between my trigger assembly and receiver to get a more solid feel. I will be ordering more for my .357 Blackhawk and Mini-14.
Very good instructional video- straight forward, well spoken, & even noted blocking the hammer when dry firing. I agree: background should be a neutral cream or very light grey color (not white) as it would make the pieces easier to see. Also you want to consider product advertisement at the beginning of the video. Tell us what the shims are for, where they go, & why we should buy them (at the beginning). A very brief explanation may sell more without losing viewer interest. I plan to buy them!
Thanks for the video. I appreciate it. Using the fast forward button, I was able to do it in ten minutes and I'm not a smithy. Seeing it done made it easier, like watching another fella tie a knot.
I just received this part from you in the mail. Installed with no problems and WOW what a difference in pull. Whatever kind of accuracy was lost from such a strong pull is gone now. It is such a big change that I am sure I will prematurely fire a round or two before I get used to it. THANKS A MILLION!
I watched this video once I ordered the new hammer, which prompted me to get the shims from your store as well. I installed everything just now and it's a huge difference. Your video was the best one I found on UA-cam for the parts installation, I wouldn't have been able to do this alone. Thanks a lot Lance!
Used your video to install the Volquartsen Target Hammer kit and Autobolt bolt release. I did it almost as fast as you did, even though this was only the first time I've been that deep into the trigger group. It's not as scary as I thought it would be. I liked the tip about the hole in the block to replace the hammer spring. I didn't install the 8 piece shim kit. I'll see how it shoots first before I get that. Thank you for your video.
Thank You. Yes, I have noticed on many guns that when you eliminate the drag felt when pulling the trigger, a smoother trigger pull does help accuracy.
Was a huge help!! I started with another video it was good but they only did a partial install and didn't do an auto bolt release. Found your video and success. I will look into the shims.
Excellent video, I got the Volquartsen hammer and trigger months ago but have been putting off installing it. This video allowed me to do it in 30 minutes, so well shot and detailed. Thanks!
GREAT VIDEO! Well lit, well spoken and well explained. With help from your video I just installed the Volquartsen Target Hammer Kit and bolt latch. Now I'll be ordering one of these shim kits. After test firing my gun with the hammer kit I certainly noticed the slight grittyness of the pull. The shim kit has to improve this by keeping the parts from shifting and binding. When I was 16 I fired a 10/22 of a friends. 24 yrs later I finally bought one. Very nice gun with little recoil.
Thank You! Excellent video. I just got done installing my trigger kit and extended mag release because of your help. I hadn't heard of your shims before I ordered my kit but I think in a few months I'll be be putting a new build together and I'll try them out. If I like them I'll redo this current gun.
Watched a few explanations of this process now and this was an excellent example of how to keep it simple. Being picky - that prayer mat you’ve got as a background doesn’t make everything easy to see.
Good video! Made my installation easy. My only suggestion is a contrasting background, black gun, all white background. It will make viewing easier. Keep the videos coming!
What a great video bought both the shims and the trigger housing. Had never done any type of gun modification prior to this but this video truly made it a breeze thanks!
I already modded my (from like the 60's) trigger unit. It's down to maybe 3 pounds, all stock parts just stoned, polished, and re-angled hammer sear surface. Can't wait to get my volquartsen hammer coming in a few days.
Fantastic video - I'm usually all thumbs and end up taking hours to do a simple job, just finished my install and it went so well following your video and clear instructions.... many thanks and good wishes to you.
Thank You! The 1/8" Trigger Shims for the 10/22 will also fit the Mag Release. Be sure to leave enough clearance for the Bolt Release to operate properly. Good Shooting, Lance
Hello, The new billet housing will be the same only more uniform and most likely tighter. Use feeler gauges to see if you need shims, instructions are on the web site - Trigger Shim Kit Installation Instructions page at TriggerShims. You want .002" to .003" clearance when done.
LOL I have the same little stick your using think its from a shish kebab bamboo stick have had it for years. I also like using the Starbucks sticks cut in half in an angle work great for cleaning as well for Handguns.Picked up kit just installed thanks for tutorial👍
These Volquartsen Parts are available on my Volquartsen Page at; www.triggershims.com/volquartsen.html#S1 I don't think a slight angle on that spring should be a problem. Good Shooting, Lance
Very nice video! I will definitely be buying some of these shims. I put this hammer into my gun using your video before I knew about the shims and the video made it very easy. Do you happen to know if your shims would fit to shim the longer mag release that comes stock on the newer guns? It has always peeved me how much slack is in the mag release and if your shims would work for that I would get some for that also. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. Just finished my install. 1st time i've heard of using shims. Might have to order some. Have you noticed a marked increase in accuracy using them?
Just placed my order for all this. But I was wondering if any of the installation will be different being I have a new billet housing. You said something about using a feeler gauge, what gap would I be looking for?
do you still sell these parts? also question on my trigger return plunger spring does it go into the back of trigger guard on a slight angle? i have the plastic trigger guard . i would like to do this mod, however don't know if the trigger plunger spring is suppose to be on a slight angle. thanks
im not going to use the trigger return spring due to reliability. but do u still have to use there hammer spring or is the stock hammer spring a better way to go?
The Trigger Return Spring can be a little light in the New Style Plastic Frames, but work well in the older Metal Trigger Housings. The Hammer Spring is an Extra Power Spring, and I suggest using it.
Well done! Very comprehensive and informative. If I can add to the comments by twelvegaugedave870, might I suggest brighter lighting for your work area. That way folks would have a better idea of what you're doing with the shim install. Again, great video. Thanks
i just ordered the VC10TH kit and your video is going to help me. in the kit there is a small spring doet that go in the trigger and sheer? or is it for the trigger return ??? I"m leaning towards the trigger and sheer because they supply a cheater pin . Thanks in advance
Great video guys but I found the background (carpet ?) very distracting and made the parts hard to see. A light colored background would have been much better.

Just did the shims and VQ target hammer kit, wonderful upgrade. Trigger finally feels worthy.

Thank You, I have since changed to a lighter color Stair Tread Carpet.
Good video! Made my installation easy. My only suggestion is a contrasting background, black gun, all white background. It will make viewing easier. Keep the videos coming!
Glad you were so happy with it, Volquartsen makes some very good products!
Good Shooting, Lance
Thanks for the video, it made a lot more sense than the written instructions Volquartsen included in the Target Hammer kit.
What a great video bought both the shims and the trigger housing. Had never done any type of gun modification prior to this but this video truly made it a breeze thanks!
Thank You, I Appreciate your Kind Comments.

Thank You, and Yes, I agree, Quite Possibly the Finest Little Semi-Auto .22 Even Built!
Fantastic video - I'm usually all thumbs and end up taking hours to do a simple job, just finished my install and it went so well following your video and clear instructions.... many thanks and good wishes to you.
I bought your kit on your website. and a metal trigger on ebay. the shims make it feel so much better!!!
Great video Lance! I just installed the Volquartsen bolt release and hammer pack. Thanks again for the detailed video, very intuitive!
Thank You. I think you will find a simple shim will make a noticable difference in the trigger feel.
Thank You!
The 1/8" Trigger Shims for the 10/22 will also fit the Mag Release.
Be sure to leave enough clearance for the Bolt Release to operate properly.
Good Shooting, Lance
Thanks, Your Input is Appreciated!
Great video; my Volquartsen kit just came in today and I got it installed very easily just following along. You have my thanks, good sir!
Thank you this video was EXACTLY what I was looking for and needed.
Thanks for taking the time to make it.

Just upgraded my trigger group. Thanks for the video, GREAT help.
Great stuff! Excellent instruction that has enabled me to work on my own 10/22. Thank you for posting.

Thank You, Your Business is Much Appreciated!
Excellent instructions and very much appreciated.
Awesome detail in your video. Made the kit very easy to install. Thank you!!!
Thank You, I have changed to a lighter mat.
Very informative, it just helped my dad upgrade my tactical 22, thanks!
These Volquartsen Parts are available on my Volquartsen Page at; www.triggershims.com/volquartsen.html#S1
I don't think a slight angle on that spring should be a problem.
Good Shooting,
Lance
Great video; made installation a breeze...wish I had the shim kit to go with the Target Hammer though.
Thank you for your efforts. Very helpful indeed!!

Great job. 👍
Thank you very much.

How does the creep feel now? Not the pre travel, but the creep.
It is improved, but if you are very fussy, it will cost $$$ ;-)
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.

Hi, the small spring supplied with the VC10TH is the trigger return spring.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Lance
great video, thank you
@TriggerShims No worries mate, credit where credit is due.
very nice vid helped a lot thanks
Great video guys but I found the background (carpet ?) very distracting and made the parts hard to see. A light colored background would have been much better.
Do you guys sell all these parts?
Hi, Thanks for asking.
These parts are available on our web site at www.triggershims.com/volquartsen.html
Good Shooting and God Bless,
Lance and Tammy
Dont instal the Volquartsen plunger spring. Its too weak my trigger would not reset. A lot of people have had the same problem.
This is True of the New Style Plastic Trigger Frame, but not the old Metal Frame.
@@TriggerShims Either way, great video and made it simple to follow. Much better than the factory trigger!
Good video, informative but the dark colour cloth ruined it all.
Yes, Thank You, we have moved on from that, and even have better video resolution now.
