FBO BMW 135i - Fast AND Reliable!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- I had the pleasure of shooting a good friend of mine's car. This E82 135i is what I would consider to be a clean OEM+ example of the 1 series. I felt this car was a great place to start my new series. I will periodically shoot these more in depth cinematic videos to mix up the content on my channel. For me, it gets boring shooting and editing the same stuff all the time so I hope you enjoy the first installment of this series and look forward to making more of these. Please let me know if you liked this video and what kind of cars you'd like to see featured next! Special thanks to Sebastian for volunteering his time and car to be featured. Thanks for watching!

I would remove the burble tune or set it so it only pops below 30mph like when you want to rev at a stop light. But not for regular driving. Also, it just shortens turbo/seals/exhaust component lifespan.
It only happens in sport. Normal driving closes the valved exhaust and turns off the burbles
I got a 2013 135i and I can honestly say its the BEST purchase ive ever made
How many miles did it have when you get it?
90 000 miles
@@koop1762 Dct? how much you end up paying for it?
Do the 2011 135i have the N55?
@@jxcksolos9604 yes it does
LMAO. The word reliable is a word i would never put in the same sentence with BMW 135i.
Have you owned one? In my 2010 N55 I've done 160k km including 10 winters, in Sweden. Just regular maintenance. It never let me down.
Yes, I currently have a 2010 N54. Down pipe, water pump, thermostat housing, fuel pump, blower motor, alternator, 2 batteries, electronics in rear passenger wheel well are just a portion of the problems ive had in 6 years. the car currently has 104K miles. @@albertdunberg6130
@@albertdunberg6130 I had quite the different experience with my n55 with 149k miles and regular maintenance xD
Its all relative. Compared to its predecessors, its pretty reliable from what I have read
@@protoman1214 In no world is the n54 reliable
Nobody drives a 135 and says it sucks…nobody
can you smack your hands together again
My god. It’s soooooo annoying! Keeps smacking his bloody hands together!
I got a 2011 N55 too. EU spec, manual, no sunroof, no iDrive... The sound system is not H/K but still better sounding than any other I've wver had.
I waited over a year for the right LCI DCT car to pop up on the market and finally pulled the trigger in December and couldn't be happier with my choice. I needed a car my wife could drive if I needed to use her car for something and the DCT has been absolutely perfect for her and daily driving while still being engaging to drive. Great video Tyler
What does LCI & DCT mean?
@@Noobody- LCI is BMW’s term for “model update”. It stands for Life Cycle Impulse. Like all car manufacturers, part way through the life of a model they update the design and mechanical components. DCT stands for dual clutch transmission. Normal automatic transmissions use a torque converter to dampen the transfer of energy between the engine and transmission and one input shaft, while a dual clutch has 2 input shafts and a clutch for each shaft. DCTs can shift quicker than torque converter automatics.
@@JasonJoyrides awesome thanks. Looking to buy one of these myself but I don’t know much about them
@@Noobody- I’m actually gonna be making a full buyer’s guide video soon that goes over the differences between model years and trim levels
I have one, and people that know definitely know what’s up…thing’s a f’n blast to drive. A unique car makes the best sounds. Can totally drive it like an old man and then stomp on it to remind you you’re not
Great car. I had a bolt on 335i N54 and honestly it wasn’t too bad on reliability but I’ve heard stories lol. Def would get a n55 next over another n54
my first bmw. i got same spec in 2019. 10k in mods and maintenance. it's a beast when you want it to be and a great daily. just need to get a lsd to complete.
I drive a Subaru N/A and I have Harmon Kardon, it’s really no thing, most cars have nice audio nowadays… Bang and Olfson is top tier bmw if you ask me
Awesome car. From a daily point of view I'm more interested in 128i 6MT Cabriolet. But the power you get from a N54 or N55 makes this a great platform
Nice I just got a 2008 135 n54, I’m just looking around at bmws now, it’s my first bmw
I just got exact same thing how have you liked it?
@@joshcucksey5603about to get one how’s it goin
Stop with the burble tunes. 135i 6MT n54 is where it is at for me.
not a fan of paddle shifters on 135i. keep it manual that's how it was intended to be driven. dual clutch is more expensive to repair, just look up repair costs of a E60 535 with a SMG trans. $5k
get what you want and dont look back. worrying about possible repair costs is a waste of energy, love dct shift like a boss when you want to, cruise when you dont
So does anyone know what exactly he’s done with his exhaust? My n54 135i currently only has catless dp but will get a resonator and muffler delete. Hopefully it sounds loud like this.
Nice car. I’ve driven an N54 for 28,000 miles over 4 years and never had a single breakdown or problem. Only routine maintenance and one tpms component. So I have been very fortunate.
I get it now my manual accord has 500kmi. Your talking 28k bmw I get it.
if anyone in the comments have eibach or any lowered springs on their e82... Hows the ride quality? I'm thinking of getting springs for my car but im concerned about the quality
F80 M3 paddle shifters fit the bmw 135i ? Without modifications?
ポップコーンのような弾ける音w
自分は近所のババアに注意されました😂
Bought my 2011 135i in 2018 with 65k on clock. Between 65k and 97k it has cost me about $20k. I came close to selling it when the turbo froze. It was killing me...and infuriating my long suffering wife! I love this damn car. Couldn't let it go! The Little Speed Shop in Rochester did everything that needed doing, rebuilding suspension, turbo (PURE Stg 1) etc.
IMHO this car is perfect design; proportions in and out, performance. Just neat. I powder coated the stock rims gloss black, CF grille, CF lip spoiler, medium window tint, Savanah red, sun roof, not an M but has all the M specs incl HK sound.
Super clean
I am a total newbie with modifying cars. I always like BMW and thinking to get a 2010 135i , I am just not sure if I should get a N55 (new years) instead. Any advices will be greatly appreciated. I might just want some minor modification (budget) issue. Again, I am new and not sure what minor modifications should I do. This is more like a weekend driving car
I have a lemans blue 135i for sale.2011 94,000 miles
I just bought my first bmw, a 2010 135i n54. So far it’s such a nice and good car to drive. Just gotta wait for the inevitable bmw maintenance
I love my 2010 135. The big things are that the N54 is gonna be more expensive to maintain…but basically everything that can go wrong is a super easy DIY job, and you can make big power with small effort. N55 def wins on reliability…but it’ll enjoy less power gains, and what big maintenance issues do come up are a lot harder to shade tree.
what mileage do these cars tend to go to crap
lmao i live on dry creek rd . im always up there , i got the n54 tho
Le Mans Blue 👌🏼
Same as mine
Dope vid man how has the transmission been doing with the mods
These trans are good for 600hp but xhp software is recommended with any major power upgrades, the only mod I have to mine is a m4 flywheel and xhp
Savage car on some of my favorite roads! Dope vid!
Love to hear it, thanks for watching!
Nice! I have a 2012 DCT 135i
How many miles did it have when you bought it?
I love mine. Exactly same color.
You call a car that loud, a DAILY? 😂
Are these the LUX angel eye bulbs?

I got a 2013 135i and its cost me quite a bit in the last 10000 miles but i still love it
how much is quite a bit? and what mileage?

NICE!!
Very good video bro! I loved the cinematics. Convince him to build that other car into a drift car hahaha
I might have to swap it if I’m doing that much 😅

How do you pass smog with a catless downpipe?
You don’t
@@E36tyler so what does he do lol, gotta pass smog somehow
@@juliangrigoriciuc take them off put stock down pipe in for smog
@@E36tyler ah well sounds easy enough
what about a muffler delete but the kind that you just empty the muffler and weld a tube inside it and then weld it shut so it looks stock, do you pass with that?
@@juliangrigoriciuc he knows a guy
You can drive manual but you bought an automatic? Well…… I was just starting to like you. Too bad
Have you tried dct before ?
@@55_Ski I have tried paddle shifters on a Corvette that I rented while in Miami. It was ok. Much prefer a stick
Manual in traffic sucks.
