I always loved the way Angelina peaked around the corner @ 1:38. My all-time favorite episodes were the ones dealing with Calderone - the season premiere, when Sonny was #8 on the hitman's hit list, this one, when Tubbs had the $1 million bounty on his head and the final one when Tubbs went to the Bahamas and Orlando tried to kill him. It was an ongoing storyline that I loved.
Miguel Piñero aka Esteban Calderon (always mis-spelled in the credits) Played the character so well because he himself did Time for Armed-Robbery,etc.. Turned his life around after serving his time by playwriting the life he grew-up around in N.Y. to show others/young-teens crime doesn't pay.. Sadly passed away a the age of 41 , 3-4 yrs later after this episode due to medical complications.. R.I.P.
He also was a poet, a drug dealer, a writer, he played Revilla in Prodigal son. And he wrote Smugglers Blues episode wich was stolen for the crapy 2006 movie. RIP indeed
That was the edited version of the shooting. The first time this episode aired, Calderone literally does the dance of death as Crockett basically empties the entire magazine of the sub-machine gun into him. For some reason, future airings of that episode had a trunkated death scene.
SIKEO1 Hey have you tried looking on NBC ? I googled the title Calderon's Demsis and the only 2 episodes that came up were The Afternoon Plane and Sons an Lovers.
@KillerSalmon I hear you. I remember in the first airing, they really showed a lot more of that fire hitting Calderone. It may be that the DVDs use this version because the tape of the edited version was in better condition than that of the original, which may have suffered some in storage. At least that's what my guess would be.
So that is the Great Miguel Pinero..never, never knew that..And, I have been and always will be a big Miami Vice fan..but never knew this was Miguel Pinero
It’s still a great show. It’s third on my list. Breaking Bad is first. Better Call Saul is second. Miami Vice is third. I will ALWAYS love Miami Vice!!!
Ok im going to watch those shows. But Miami Vice is in my heart. I love The Black List and The mentalist too. But MV ? Thats beyond everithing. I wish i could find something better
Exactly. Calderone was Tubbs' villain. It was Tubbs' brother Calderone killed. Tubbs' entire reason for coming to Miami was to hunt Calderone down. I have no doubt Don Johnson and his massive ego demanded that he be the one to kill Calderone.
@@kalreeve what a stupid suspicion. Yeah, Don Johnson overruled Michael Mann and the writers so that his fictional character could have the glory of killing a fake thug on TV. Just a brilliant theory.
@@Sifo_Dyas Dude, you are insane if you think actors don't care about stuff like that, especially lead actors. Many are extremely egotistical about stuff like that. Don Johnson was known back in the 80s for being an extreme egoist/narcissist. Even his co-stars acknowledged his massive ego in a Rolling Stone article that came out when Miami Vice was huge. I felt there should have been a LOT more emotion from tubbs when actually killing the guy. Crockett just blasts him and suddenly he's dead, we don't even see him fall over. One of the most stunning Miami Vice death scenes.

I always liked how his head falls in the pool. One of the greatest tv death scenes
It kind of reminded me of the way Tony Montana died in the fountain.
Similar to Max dying in Breaking Bad
He was so slick in his life of crime his hair glistened. He musta needed a shampooo. 😮😂❤
pretty sure it was an accident and then the actor was struggling to hold his head above water
i bet you totally forgot about this death until you saw this video yet like a clueless mouthshitter you say "one of the greatest"

Had the DVD set with the original uncut scene years ago. Pretty graphic and apparently difficult to find now.
