Red Rubber Ball always an all time favorite. So very well suited for Del. Loved everything Del ever recorded. Such a great distinctive vocalist. And sadly he left us before what I believe was his time for a comeback.
Had this version but had Neil Diamonds 1st album with it on before this. Just learned Paul Simon co-wrote it with a Seeker when he was in England writing and recording 'The Paul Simon Songbook' his 1st brilliant acoustic Solo album .
Streetlight Manifesto did an awesome Ska cover of this and I'm really glad I checked out the original and all the other versions of the song. I fell in love with the song, no matter which version I listen to, I love it! :)

In my opinion this is the best version of this song.
Agreed
I must say he did a great job on this song ...
Del Shannon and the Kinks were ahead of their time with their style and musical sounds.
yOU KNOW HE DIDNT WRITE IT
Off the Total Commitment album. Rock On Del.
Awesome! I was only used to The Cyrkle version, but Del knocks this outta the park.
Thanks for posting this gem.
@Ready-Adhesiveness40 For me (being Australian) it was The Seekers. But when I heard Shannon's version years ago I was very taken with it.
@@andrewthornhill7042 Right - The Seekers version was lovely - those harmonies!
Great version of a wonderful song....awesome voices.
"Red Rubber Ball" is a pop song written by Bruce Woodley of The Seekers and Paul Simon of Simon & Garfunkel, recorded by The Cyrkle, 🎸🎷🎺🥁
Great rendition by Del💚
I love this oldies❤️
Enormous talent taken from us all far too soon. I learned too late how much popular music owes to Del Shannon.
Best cover hands down. Thanks for sharing.
This is the best version of this song!
met him many times..a gentleman
This is incorrect. Del was born on December 30 1934 and died on February 8 1990. Love you Del and may you share eternal life with God.
I didn't know Del was older than Elvis...
Ah yeah God. But which one? Hmmm

Bruce Woodley. A genius. His son turned to comedy. He is a very smart guy
Written by Bruce Woodley from the Seekers. Jesus what a genius.

Cute song😃
always a pleasure
websearch333 It's a reminder to all of us to look out for each other. Peace:)
i think you'll find it was 1991 when he died!!
great cover of a Paul Simon song.
actually it was written by BOBBY VEE
websearch333 Actually it was written by Paul Simon. Bobby Vee sang Rubber Ball not 'Red' Rubber Ball.
Paul Simon and Bruce Woodley of the Seekers wrote it
Yeah you are correct.
If I'm not mistaken, The Cyrkle (spelling?) originally recorded it after opening for Simon and Garfunkel.
agreed
why does anyone do that? maybe they think they have nothing more to offer in life
this version is weird - rerecording?
