One difference I have noticed in recent videos of Hikaru is that he has started to explain his moves more than just replying to chat. If you are reading this, please know that we appreciate that very much. You are the best chess streamer for me.
This playlist is by far the best Hikaru content for my level. I've seen all of them several times and I'm mesmerized every time. A chess opening masterpiece. He obliterrates natural looking responses creating decisive opportunities for himself and losing position for the opponent in as little as 4 and 5 moves. I also love the openings he chose as I know most of them and can incorporate what I learned from him in my games compared to when I watch him usually and don't understand what he is doing. I usually play Nc3 chasing the Queen in the Scandi watching Hikaru was a nice learning opportunity. Thanks for the lessons, the idea and the content.
This for me was really enjoyable, you can really see the difference in skill-rating (obviously), so fun to watch how you destroyed them even after 3 moves only, please do more videos like this where you play against lower-rated players. I think as a lower-rated player myself I can learn more from these videos than for example when you play against pro players, here its easy to understand and to see what mistakes us noobs do.
Cool editors....also it makes the meem of Obama giving medel to himself...editors writing own name at the stat of award ... But these editors are really good ... thumbnail titles edit updates shorts etc very nice
I was looking for watching a tricks only speedrun again and then that video pops up and i was happy when i saw you play gambits such as fried liver jerome evans brings me old days
I love the different opening monologues you have for these. Although, I will say, the botez gambit speedrun was the best. I still can’t get that stupid song out of my head… “heyyyyy what’s the matter with the bright red lights!!!”
I feel like when this account reaches like 1900-2000 or above, the games will be so good and so instructive + actually good openings will be used as well so this becomes a decent way to get some dank opening prep.
I learned some things from this video, but the opponents were too weak to learn much. I was like what if they played this solid move, what would Hikaru play? But no, they just blundered instead lmao
Hello Hikaru after finishing with this Speedrun please consider doing the king's gambit Speedrun and bring legendary Paul Morphy. He is the reason I started learning chess 😊
If this content is targeted at beginners, which I am I have two suggestion that would make me follow the games better. 1. No pre-moves please 2. More explanations.
imagine being 500 elo fella who started to play chess month ago and then one day super GM beats a shit out of you but you don't even realise it because that GM smurfs...

Yeah I've noticed that too, I get the feeling that after the win against Wesley he has been in a particularly good mood. Good for him :-)
Hopefully his constant explanation will prevent his future blunder in the future
Ikr!! That's one of the reasons Gotham is popping off
Yes. he is the best at what he does. He is enjoyable for beginners while always bringing the best chess analysis for more advanced level.
Just wanted to write the same, haha. Geeat advice, very insightful, well explained

Hikaru has to play the three most legendary and unbreakable openings: 1. The Bongcloud 2. The Hippo 3. The Stonewall
Hikarus done the bongcloud. Eric’s done the hippo. Aman’s done the stonewall.
Hippos are cool
stonewall what? stonewall London? stonewall dutch?
@@vertexblue1007 Stonewall is nickname for Berlin variation Hikaru often plays as Black
You forgot chicken pizza opening
These speedruns have been very instructive, especially the early episodes where you're crushing noobs such as myself. Thanks Hikaru
Can somebody PLEASE give the editor a raise? 10/10! Consistent top tier delivery!
Idk if this is the same as that Brazilian legend
I was so happy there are no editor comments but...
1:57 *Hikaru playing a 500* being all serious “guys, this is looking pretty good so far” 😂
Funny af ngl
Then later, "Whats taking this guy so long?" While he is playing a top player in his first week 😂
And another 50 episodes in and I can already see this being 3000 rated blitz matches
7:35 that’s called the Impatience Gambit, you run your clock out from 3 minutes and hope your opponent gets bored and resigns
omg I'm a huge fan of this speedrun. more of this please, hikaru.
This speedrun idea is very creative, love it!
Hikaru is such a troll for this one... the intro is subliminal jabs at levy n boetz this is why this man is a legend😂😂😂
Botez is a clown. Levy knows some chess at least
The legend is playing legendary openings.

Top tier intro, if this editor hasnt already gotten a raise, he deserves it, maybe another raise...
20:48 is hikaru a resident of r/anarchychess?
Hikaru videos' titles be like: SPEEDRUNNING....

This is quite possibly the greatest intro to a youtube video I have seen 😂. UA-cam need to start awarding editors grammy
18:20 Fun with Flags Ft. Hikaru 😂
QxP 14:28 loved your expression after that loss of a pawn, the surprise sac! hehe Henry-Winkler style very natural acting.
10:57 he eats those bishops😂
I love how in a blitz game he spends 30-45 seconds explaining everything, then still continues to obliterate his opponents tactically and on time
06:15 Kd6, common move order trick to make you play d4, which you wouldn't have played if he went Kd7 immediately
3:53 at 0.25 x speed
I love the editors of this channel
Thank you for this. I’m new to chess and I love seeing new openings. Thank you 🐐!
He didn't try to play the ICBM against the Scandinavian, my disappointment is immeasurable
Another Speedrun video! For those who live in the wrong timezone for live streams; thank god for UA-cam VODs
3:51 hikaru's blunder leads to trapping rook
The first opponent (Mozz57) should be proud to play this well against Hikaru!
Please do a speed run where you play 2 games at the same time. You can have 2 accounts, just press play at the same time on both.
Cool editors....also it makes the meem of Obama giving medel to himself...editors writing own name at the stat of award ... But these editors are really good ... thumbnail titles edit updates shorts etc very nice
😂the intros have gotten so much more creative😂
That 510 played surprisingly well.
8:30 I'm 900-1000 rated and I'm always happy when my opponents play the Petrov…
Bro these intros have more production value than the mcu
The editor man.... this guy knows a lot of after effects for sure! Amazing work
The acting blunders is hilarious. Damn love these speedruns
Good new series
I love this kind of speedrun , very informative thanks Hikaru
I was looking for watching a tricks only speedrun again and then that video pops up and i was happy when i saw you play gambits such as fried liver jerome evans brings me old days
21:07 based on the icons, this old guy is thinking, did I just lose to Gweneth Paltrow?

Benoni-Wan-Kenobi ☠☠
I cant stop to think that a Blindfold speedrun, if done well, would be amazing
thankyou for this hikaru ❤ i really wanted you to look at these opening and traps in a Speedrun for us😍🔥
The Pineapple Swinger Speedrun next? You can hang colored lufas up for whatever swinger mood you’re in that stream.
3:54 lolllll call the ambulance
9:10 DEEZ KNIGHTS😂😂
The bongcloud is truly the best opening tho
Oscar nomination for best UA-cam video icon and intro...
THE EDITOR DESERVES A RAISE HOLY!! HIKARU CAUGHT A UNICORN
I love the different opening monologues you have for these. Although, I will say, the botez gambit speedrun was the best. I still can’t get that stupid song out of my head… “heyyyyy what’s the matter with the bright red lights!!!”
There’s only two things I hate in this world; people who are intolerant of other people’s openings, and people who play the scandi
We will miss the disrespect speedrun Hikaru...
In this speedrun Hikaru detaches all debuffs he had in previous ones
I literally don't care what others say, Hikaru is the best chess teacher on UA-cam 🍍❤.
I feel like when this account reaches like 1900-2000 or above, the games will be so good and so instructive + actually good openings will be used as well so this becomes a decent way to get some dank opening prep.

@@JoeARedHawk275 that's what happens when he's stuck seal clubbing 500s for now. It's just much better when it's time to seal club 2000s instead 🤣
all hail the editor
I love how this is actually more disrespect than the disrespect speedrun xD
legendary intro from a legendary editor
Worst Botez Gambit I've ever seen in my life 14:28
Hello Hikaru after finishing with this Speedrun please consider doing the king's gambit Speedrun and bring legendary Paul Morphy. He is the reason I started learning chess 😊
Great video! Thank you so much! ❤
Legendary opening for the Legendary Openings Speedrun. My thanks go to Airton, ChaeDoc, JoJo and Daily Dose of Chess! 😊
If this content is targeted at beginners, which I am I have two suggestion that would make me follow the games better. 1. No pre-moves please 2. More explanations.
Best part of the video 18:18..
finally !! new speedruns
Lmao the intro I'm dead😂🤣🛐
you have the best backgrounds and edits
13:05 black queen to g6 then black knight to c2
hikaru wont let us rest..new speed run🤤
I like this INSTRUCTIONAL speedrun better
Amazing Hikaru 🎉 This speedrun is a great idea ❤
Yes!!! Another speed run 🎉
the editor is carrying this channel HARD
Dough-boy is still dreaming he should be #1, if only Magnus hadn't been a chess player.
Hikaru: I can speak Italian.
Also Hikaru: Gucci piano.
This intro is literally top tier
This should be interesting. I learnt a very punishible mistake in the Scandinavian while being intertained
Hopefully he does a blindfold speedrun to 3000 soon with some sort of text-to-speech system to tell him the moves being played 👀
“There goes the bishop… there goes the knight… and there goes the Queen” 😂😂😂
Such a Great content and nice intro xD
The exaggerated eye roll after e5 on the Scandi lmao
Taking chess streaming to new level ,
Thank you Oscar winner Hikaru Nakamura
💐💐
Very like this speedrun.
Go hikaru.
Fan from indonesia
A collab with Tumblur would be amazing for the Italian Twitch community.
I wish Hikaru would play legendary openings AND disrespect his opponents at the same time...
imagine being 500 elo fella who started to play chess month ago and then one day super GM beats a shit out of you but you don't even realise it because that GM smurfs...
My exams are coming and I am very addictive to hikaruuu😮😮😅
Hikaru, you should make a blind speed that will be great!
More speedrun🔥
crazy crazy good, respects !!!
anyone knows the background music here? 10:29
Omg thank you for this video 😫🤣
Thank you sir 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great Video
Could you play the Pirc in one of these vids? Might not be legendary but its a similar setup to the kings Indian
The intro is just hilarious. Hahahaha
The score update was more of a disrespect speedrun😂😂
when your waiting for Hikaru to play his second move as he marks you down as a win.
wonder if Hikaru will ever do 1v1 against viewers
