Congratulations! I so completely feel these home buying vlogs! We also literally just went through this process. Technically, we still are, as we don't close on our new home until October 20th. We're in the US but it definitely seems so many home markets are going crazy right now. We had a multi-bid & max-out situation too. We are so in love with our home. We have a clause where we'll go a few grand over what the house appraises for. Here's hoping it comes back cheaper than what we're under contract at. We lost the first home we had set our hearts on because we didn't know how to phrase our escalation clause. We had no room to negotiate & ended up second best. We're so glad to have not gone through that gutting again.

Hey Alarna. Hearty congrats to you both! I'm a born and bred Aucklander who despairs of my 3 older teen sons ever getting on the property market here so I'm already resigned to the fact that they will have to leave the city if not the country if they want to own their own homes. But my brother, another long time JAFA, has recently moved to CHC as his partner is from there. They own a home up in the hills which looks pretty amazing so I'm quite excited to visit him and spend a bit of time in CHC. I've only been there once about 20 years ago but from what I've seen it looks like it is becoming an increasingly cosmopilitan city. Look forward to watching your future content, both your renovating and hopefully your travels around the city and further afield (loved your recent travel vlogs!). And no doubt some puppy training thrown in soon! Congrats again - exciting times ahead!!

My partner and I just recently bought a house in wellington and it’s so surreal once you’re in! I kept using command strips to put up pictures but my partner had to remind me we can put nails in the wall, they’re our walls! Good luck with your move! 😊
