2020 Yeti SB165 Review | First Ride First Impressions

  • Last year I demo'd Yeti's SB150 and can still remember how fun and confident that bike made me feel. A couple of months back I demo'd the SB140 and found to be super fun and poppy! But not as confidence-inspiring on the steeps and chunk. And now after riding the SB165, I feel like if the SB150 and the SB140 had a kid... the SB165 would be it! Fast, planted, playful and makes you feel like you can take on the world!

    I just bought myself a T2 like this !!
    And guess what it started to snow just the lm day after....
    So right now is in my garage and I’m looking at it every morning and night just waiting for the Spring to come back
    I tried to SB 150 which I really love it and I bought the 165 because of my size wheels preference ... and agressiv Geo !!

    I live in Oregon, I have the Sb165 right and it definitely feels like too much bike for the flow trails we have out here. I feeling like the SB 140 would’ve been been the way to go, so now I’m thinking about trading it in. In an ideal world, I would have both of these bikes.

      Diego Castro Aviles Had a chance to demo Sb150, Sb165 and sb140 and I would go with the SB140 myself.

    Check out the Norco optic 2020. Less travel and slack geometry with a good climb position. I think you’ll like it because it’s perfect for single track and doesn’t feel sketch on the downhill because the slack head tube and can climb

    • @MILTONATOR

    Hi! I am 5'11'' 180cm tall, on the cusp between Medium and Large. For SB165, do you think I should size up to a Large. Could you tell me your height? Is the reach too long? Thank you so much

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  4 роки тому

      Max Zhu I’m 5’ 9” and the medium felt perfectly. I suggest you compare the geometry from the sb165 to a bike you feel comfortable on. For the reach, add the length of the stem as well. Sorry, I hope this helps.

    Hey man, out of curiosity what aspect of the SB140, made it not as confidence -inspiring on the steeps and chunk? What tweaks do you feel it could use?

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  5 років тому +1

      Neigel Creese The coil, bro. It kept the sb165 glued to the ground. Kinda expensive but an 11-6 Push coil on the 140 would add a good deal of stability (I think they Push makes one for the sb140, not sure)

    How does the 165 compare to your new Capra descending, would you say one is better than the other downhill?

    • @MILTONATOR

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  5 років тому

      Ha! Funny you asked. At first, I was really feeling how quiet they were (the entire bike felt super dialed). By the end of the ride, I kinda missed the buzzing sound...Engagement wise = excellent. But I personally lean more towards the buzz because you can feel and HEAR the speed, if that makes sense.

    • @CalaveraChronicles
