Oh... Ok 2 things:
1. I didn't know I needed Alexander's POV on this song until now, and I love it. Great performance, Sir. I'm not crying... you are!!!
2. At first, I didn't get why the audience was laughing either, but maybe it has something to do with his introduction to the song? Maybe he said that he was gonna change the pronouns? Or maybe he didn't and that surprised them? Idk, I personally think they weren't rude at all, only enjoying the performance and the irony of the "heartbreaker" singing to this song.

I mean, the original version should have, but if people won't listen to a woman seriously then the next best thing is listening to a man being truly repentant for his actions against that woman. I'm really glad this artist, as a man, sang the song this way... It means a lot to me.
