Cool truck, but those are not vortec heads bud. Those are 87 to 95 TBI heads. Also called swirled port. Vortecs have 4 bolts holding the intake manifold down. Tbi's have 12 volts holding it down like the old style, but the middle four are at a different angle, like those. Vortex and the swirled Port both have four bolts holding the valve covers down. Still good heads though
I've had very little experience with that type of cylinder head, obviously. lol I was already using Iron Eagles and Dart aluminum heads on my cars during that era. I think the main reason I went to aftermarket heads is that I could choose every aspect of them...chamber, runner, valve size... Thanks for watching and commenting!
All good. I'm actually putting that same motor in an S10 myself! Mine is out of an 88 firebird, and has the same swirled port heads. They're not quite as good as the vortex, but still a very good head.
