The music video and the song's lyrics actually have a double meaning, Taemin tries to say (or express) what the depression and anxiety caused by his time in the mandatory army caused him. He shows in gestures and in frames that he shows this and at the same time that he tries to tell us this, he camouflages this report with his hypnotic dancing skills to somehow mislead the Korean media.
1000% agree. Advice and Guilty are especially about mental health, as are a lot of his songs. Advice was the mental break and Guilty is the aftermath, but also shows the struggle since childhood and how, no matter how hard you try, sometimes your demons overtake you. In a music review interview online, Taemin said that the concept was based upon French philosopher Georges Bataillle's book, "L'erostisme" in which he argues that eroticism is "a psychological quest not alien to death." Taemin is very into philosophy, just like my daughter who is getting a minor in philosophy at college. When I told her this, she immediately researched the book and now has it and several more on her wishlist...lol. She also LOVED this latest gift from Taemin. I haven't really dug deeper into this one yet as I'm just enjoying it immensely right now, but somehow I feel like Taemin is giving us a very real picture of how horrendous his military service was in the very beginning, on top of how the medications made him feel (inhaler), and fighting against himself and his demons to stick through it despite how awful it was. Remember, he never said a word about wanting a transfer. The decision was made for him by military personnel for his well being. That says a lot. Telling this story, if what I am just speculating about is true, may be very cathartic for him. However, this is just the first impression that hit me because it also fits in with the duality of his nature that we've seen before.
