If you honestly think there's enough cells to go around you're very mistaken. Most police stations have between 20 and 40 cells.... If they arrest and put every single JSO protestor in a cell there'd literally be nowhere else to put any other arrested person.
The reality is there's also staffing levels required to operate a safe custody suite, there's no point having 40 prisoners in a custody suite when you've only got 2 custody sergeants and perhaps 2 designated detention officers to look after their needs whilst in custody (bearing in mind they can be held in custody under normal circumstances for up to 24 hours).
So, in practise, whilst a custody suite might have 40 cells, they'll probably only use 25 of them at once, before sending arrested persons elsewhere.
You're also forgetting that most of these people get arrested, released and then go back and do it again.... they can't be remanded in custody forever and if the courts did nothing but deal with all the JSO protestors every other criminal case would be delayed significantly. There's only a reasonable amount of time the courts can realistically hold someone in court detention on "remand" as a result of a non-violent protest, whether it's an illegal protest or not.
Because protesting is legal in the Uk. If you want a no protest country move to North Korea.

Im from czechia. Similiar party stopped exit from a tunnel in prague, and ambulance got stuck. They lost like 2-3 minutes before they cleared the road. That can be crutial.
