Paraphrased...What was truly revolutionary about the translation of the Bible into English was that if people could learn to read they could also learn to think... independently of the powers that be. I can think of a whole continental Bible Belt that would benefit greatly from that experience 500 years later, not least when deciding how to cast their ballots lol :O)))
