"looking for ladyboy", you could have said yes. We know your straight up. But it would be very entertaining all the same.
There is no telling what he would have done or said if I did hahahahah
@@UTCM "Hey Sak; yah we got another one, get the lippy on and the Madonna cone bra ready". hehehe. look forward to the next one Peace Man, from Australia
I really love that you start out your video with a map of your route.
Glad you like it ! Sometimes its difficult with the alleys .
Great walk. The Chala property had nice online photos. Rooms beginning at $199 USD a night. Yikes!
High dollar stuff
Another great video Bill, and as usual, some sound advice 😊
Thank you !!!!!
would you walk up an alley like that in your home country, I think Not, love Thailand , Love Chaing Mai
As a civilian lots of places in the US I would not walk . Here in Thailand there is no where I feel un safe .
Oh my, that 1/4 rai piece of land (with a little wooden house?) was 40-49 million baht!! That's over 1 million USD. It always blows my mind how insanely expensive properties are in Chiang Mai.
Yes land in that area is very expensive
Great tip on ilert.. I wrote that down. Really great to see you looking good, Bill. I’ve been stuck watching a lot of Bangkok videos thinking I might try staying there first. If it’s crazy the next trip Chiang Mai.
Chiangmai is a great place to visit as well . Bangkok is very safe too . Just keep and eye open .
I used to have shirts with a pocket inside of shirt behind outside pocket put money.
Pretty good idea
Good to see you doing well.. congratulations!
Thank you ! I feel great !
They caught a female and male, Iranian's, a couple of days ago in Bangkok.
I m pretty sure same ones I read about
i can't find app. is it Ilert? ther's nothing under bangkok tourist police.
I lertu I found it under Thai tourist police on google play
Good health and luck Bill
Thank you so much ! Im trying
didn’t their Mother ever teach them to never talk with strangers?
unfortunately this is a very old scam / grift / theft technique.
I just subscribed to your channel. keep on keeping on, mahalos & aloha 🤙
@@joe3394 Thank you !
Do not talk to strangers.. then you can't make new acquaintances or new friends...b"""shit
.negative crap..the vast majority of people are not bad people..just like any country anywhere in the world
2 much negative crap..from old farts like you ..have you been robbed.?
The real cops do it too, just another way. They pull you over on your scooter and shake you down.
@@earlgreco8636 Not once ever had that happen to me or anyone I know of .
I appreciate your walks. I will be staying in Old Town in Chiang mai from the middle of November. Arriving around Loy Krathong/Yi Peng. Thanks for the i lert u app tip. It won't take my foreign phone number country code so I guess I need a second sim with a Thai number? (My phone plan covers Thailand for free.)
@@chronic2023 Not sure really your number might work .
Situational awareness comes to mind. Also, I've carried my wallet in my front pocket for years. Snug fitting Wranglers. Hell it's even difficult at times for me to pull my wallet out. May have to switch from blue denim to khaki once I retire there.
@@ralphlewis6773 i do the same sometimes .
Thanks for the tips. I'm just leaving Nawlins for the flight home to CM. Gonna miss the shrimp n grits. Any place in CM have it?
@@stevemahoney6493 not that I am aware of .

Bill i couldn't quite pick up what the Aussie guys Home stay is called, CC comes up with "Lances Nest" but i couldn't find such a name? i would stay there to help out a fellow Aussie. Did you pick up the name correctly?
Found it in your video at the 10.56 min mark, Its across from "Shark Shack" and its called "Ants Nest", nothing came up in my browser search except "ants nest in your home", i would change the name for sure. Its in Moonmuang lane if anyone is interested, i guess its on Facebook etc.
@@SteveSmith-zz4ih no and I didnt pick up on it until I watched the video in edit , or I would have put it on the video . I will next time I walk that area . Really nice guy !
if you are going to any country Thailand any Citibank is in every single country sign up in your country and when you go to Thailand go in and get some money no need for an exchange it is safe for you what I do is have two wallets one I have a few notes in there in my pocket there other I have a flat bumbag it's thin and I put under my jumper jacket or T-shirt no one can see it or knows its there have your ID and money in that
@@Aaron-xc4je thats great advice !
What they do in Brazil is to put 2 x elastic bands around your wallet , so when someone attempts to pickpocket you , the friction caused by the band will alert you that someone is trying to rob you .
If I have visa/banking stuff and need my passport . I do it first thing in the morning , then return to my house and put the passport away .
I never take my iPhone / tablet/ laptop outside. I have a dumb phone 900 baht and only take as much money as I need , usually no more than 1500 baht .
If I have to withdraw a decent amount from an ATM, I take my wife with me and use the ATM @to the bank .
The restaurant and bars I use are walking distance and am always back by 8.30 latest .
If take as many precautions as possible ( without becoming paranoid) we will be safe .
Complacency is becoming more frequent- I’ve done it myself and lost a phone . But a good regimen of ‘ being as safe as possible’ is a habit we don’t want to slip out of .
good advice, first off ask for police id and speak some Thai,if Iranian, theyll be round eyed possibly,i have an English friend who was born in Iran,December 4th ive been here 14 years.if Tourist Police, why no uniform? and should be able speak some Thai to a point, simple words, and have a Police ID on him
