Extended version of The Hamlet theme from Darkest Dungeon.
I often find myself searching the web for awesome soundtracks to games I enjoy to play or watch. However, many that I find are the OST, which tend to be short, while I would instead prefer versions that I could listen to at length. So, I've taken it upon myself to develop this extended cut of the original. I hope you all enjoy.
"In time, you will know the tragic extent of my failings."
I'll show you a tragic extend ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh god, that really is tragic, i'll fix it
I just read emergence it feels awfully fitting
@@b-ballhardfall8557 'The thing is more terrible than I can describe! An incoherent jumble of organ, sinew, and bone... Excise the bungled tumor, and the land may yet live.'
When you're leaving your job and comments the code so the person coming after you know what in the name of God is that awful mess that you made.

“Bring the whole bottle. This will not be a short night."
To think that your heroes spend a week in either drinking, praying, meditating, or gambling for pleasure simply to forget the horrors they've faced in their expedition really says something about the environment.
People of these ages were not exactly tamed to ideas of living dead, fish mutants and abominable fetid god entities banging right at their feet so i guess Red Hook did a pretty good job on that one?
Also they "hooked" me with character design too. You can just feel every character's role. My favorite is Bounty Hunter.
@@secretname2670 Leper and Occultist are my favourites, a fallen king looking for a heroic end and a scholar who understands the dangers of darkness and fights fire with fire
@@secretname2670 Bounty Hunter all the way!
The Ancestor really wasn't kidding when he said "In time, you will know the tragic extent of my failings."

Rather than quoting the game, I need to say how this cosy eerie piece is tightly bound to my memories. First nights after graduating. Broken relationship, family loss and my own obscure future. Me and my laptop at desk. This dark hamlet was a shelter not only for weary adventurers but also for me. I used to spend more time in Hamlet than I needed just to be comforted by this piece and not to think of my own dark reality.
Ramiz S Hope ur better now
Exactly my feels about this music.
Similar feelings here. Really helps pass the time
Seems like you too made the most out of a bad situation.

Now THAT is an ironic quote. Given what abounds in the dark corners of this moldering land.

Welcome home, such as it is. This squalid Hamlet, these corrupted lands; They are yours now, and you are bound to them.
I listen to this while I'm studying for my finals, I want to be up to the test but also remind myself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
I do the same despite tests and finals feeling like a boss battle. I listen to this to reassure myself and not put pressure to think about difficulty, but instead see it as opportunity that I've come so far to be able to tackle the task. This song is perfect

They managed to make a song that fits both a crushing defeat and a triumphant victory(or a close one)
Or rather a victory where you also count your losses just as much as your gains.
Yes, reminds me Firelink Shrine theme from Dark Souls 1, depressing and relaxing
@@darkgalista9434 dude... i love ds and dd. i love games made with heart and thought
"Welcome home, such as it is. This squalid hamlet, these corrupted lands, they are yours now, and you are bound to them."
I don't know how a song can be so relaxing, comforting and serene while also sounding eerie, Hopeless and Depressing all at once. It really fits the "all hope is lost" feeling of gloom that every dungeon run offers. Beautifully sad. Also love the Ancestor's Dialogue in this game. He sounds very wise but also just as hopeless as the player sometimes. And I don't get a sense of evil from him or anything, I hear a lot of sorrow and regret in his words. He also has some of my favorite quotes. "Success, so clearly in view!..or, is it merely...A trick of the light...?" Is a favorite of mine. Every time I hear it, I can't help but think "He's right...I could lose all of this at the drop of a hat, I NEED to be careful..." And "Wounds to be tended, lessons to be learned." Solidifies how even a soul-crushing defeat shouldn't stop you. Do as he says, Lick your wounds and get back in there, it isn't over yet. This game is one of my favorites. I'm kind of disappointed I picked it up so late, but better late than never.
I like how he makes it clear that there are no heroes. Truth to be told I think this game might just be perfect. The RNG just helps you realize that like you said: "I could lose all of this at the drop of a hat, I NEED to be careful". No plot armor to save them now.
Perfect theme for a funeral at the graveyard, RIP fallen heroes.
" Suffer not the lame horse, nor the broken man "
🤔
I've seen enough of the Darkest Dungeon to last a lifetime.
Dankest Dungeon. lol
"Most will end up here, covered in the poisoned earth...awaiting merciful oblivion"
"Welcome home,
Such as it is. "
"Our family name, once so well regarded, is now barely whispered aloud by decent folk."
Even the most peacefull area in the game is depressing as fuck
*I saw something long absent in the sunken faces of passersby, a glimmer of hope.*
Compare this to ds1 firelink shrine music and you'll find shocking similarities
Not only in the music, but in their functionality as well. The hamlet as well as the bonfire serve as safe havens, for the heroes to catch their breath, until they embark on another journey.
thought I was the only one... both great freaking games and accompanied with great freaking music...
Divinity Statue ost
It's your one place for peace and solace even if in DS1 they can be found elsewhere. The music makes it central.
"Curiosity, interest, and obsession - mile markers on my road to damnation."
*_Fan the flames! Mold the metal! We are raising an army..._*
Sadly is ...the army means only 4...i wish in the last levels i could get 1 of each other characters and storm the darkest dungeon meanwhile on the road characters die or you need to abbandon them
@@vladtimofte6511 I mean, you gotta have a lot of money to get like 12 heroes inside a single dungeon, we are also not counting on taking care of each and single one of them
@@TheDJBrojo but you'd be rewarded by storming the dungeon with all of them, heavily. Also, don't people have more than 4 heroes ready?
Once, our estate was the envy of this land..
This sprawling estate, a Mecca of madness and morbidity. Your work begins...
"Women and men, soldiers and outlaws, fools and corpse's. All will find the way to us now that the road is clear".
"In time, you will know the tragic extent of my failings..."
"The plume and the pistol. A fitting end to my folly and the curse upon us all."
"I can still see their angry faces as they storm the manor, but I was dead before they found me, and the letter is on its way."
"Most will end up here, covered in the poison earth, awaiting merciful Oblivion."
"Welcome home, such as it is. This squalid hamlet, this corrupted land, they are yours now and you are bound to them."
"Fresh kegs, cards and curtain rooms promise solace to the weary and a broken alike."
"The cobwebs have been dusted, the pews set straight. The Abby calls to the faithful."
"Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer."
"shut up old pervert. Better tell me how you infested every frikin bookshelf on my way by the syphilis"
*bruh my first crusader just fucking DIED*

"Champion hero, was slayed by wilbur."
Then dies due to heart attack.
As classic saying says, play it at my funeral
Slowly, gently, this is how a life is taken.
Listen to this while looking at character backstory comics for Depressed affliction
this music sounds exactly like what despair sounds like
This is probably one of the best OSTs in gaming history, if you played the game it's even better. The game has a soul that you connect with and the feeling when you get attached to your invested characters, trying to beat the darkest dungeon without losing anyone and hearing this music while all the memories of me playing through the game are running through my mind is just insane.
The graveyeard : " Mostly they end there slowy tuning into dust"
A song you'll grow to love and hate, it's the first thing the game shows you after a stressful but successful mission, or a complete disaster. It can be both relaxing in a depressing way, or a way to mourn and anger about the complete disaster that just occurred.
(Second one was my personal experience after gambling an expedition, only to have a party wipe and lose over 9k gold)
Rampage Resolve is tested : Stronger!
"With the hope of the light we shall prevail! "
Woe to the sheep! For does not the absence of the shepherd invite the wolves?
The Hamlet no longer exists. It is destroyed. And who knows what happened to the heir.
This game is such a masterpiece! Instant favorite!
I listen to this every time. Sometimes I just leave it on.

really fits the tone of the game
