I have a question so what if I didn’t have the npp exhaust but I bought it from someone else & want to install it in my car how will I be able to close & open the valves ?
Have you ever had any issues with your dual exhaust mine seems to be stuck in loud mode. Already checked the fuse. It's not a real issue but would be nice to fix
i have a 2022 lt1 with the dual mode exhaust, i had seen someone post that apparently they get more pops with the main muffler deleted. If it basically runs as a straight pipe in sport mode would it even be worth it to remove the muffler? I was hoping to make it louder than sport by removing the muffler but the way you explained it makes it seem like it won't make much of a difference
Thank you!!! Got a 2020 ss and I was going to cut the muffler because I don’t like when it quiet. When really I just need a bypass. Diablo sells one that cuts off the AFM system.
L2theW AFM is active fuel management. Basically when the engine goes to 4 cylinders. Maybe it’s referred to by another name. Diablo sells the Sprinter for the SS to keep it in 8 cylinders at all times and keep the valves open. Did you get a check engine light when you pulled the fuse?? If not, what fuse did you pull?
Do you think the NPP system is a better performing exhaust than straight pipes? I say that because it looks like NPP would provide some necessary backpressure in lower rpms since the exhaust seems to escape only through perforations. Straight pipe would surely lead to loss of torque in lower rpms, no? I'm just a curious novice.
@L2theW I bought a 2017 2ss last year and I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust but I don't want to mess up the NPP exhaust system. I've been told that Borla is about the best exhaust system you can buy. Which exhaust system do you recommend I purchase without messing with NPP? I like the stock exhaust but I'd like it to be a little louder.
I'm so sorry friend. I've lost a daughter and my dad more recently. Life is so hard at times. I lived in Sarasota and Pompano Beach in two different times. Peace!
I have 2019 2 ss without the npp exhaust and I like the basic single tips. I just want to change the system out to make it sound smooth without a ton of drone in the cabin. What type of exhaust do you reccommend cat back or axle back to make it sound nice and aggressive but not super duper loud.
Since the dual mode npp exhaust is a $1,000.00+ option and it does not state any increase in torque or H.P. Is there a large difference in sound or performance between a Super Sport without NPP?
Im late but i thought i might add my experience ... since i got the npp and a friend of mine has the regular exhaust with 2 total tips the npp exhaust is way louder and more aggressive its honestly not even a comparison

Thanks i figured it out it was in my infotainment system i have the 1le v6 i just changed it to auto mode selector now when i hit the mode selector everything changes now
I have a camero v6 and I recently deleted the muffler now my car is lagging when i try to push the gas would it have to do with the valves not opening??
Quick question, i have the 6th gen v6 camaro and im looking to get an axle back exhaust but honestly i dont know which one to get. I have on mind the borla atak with quad tips but its $1600 plus i have to buy another diffuser which is $350.can you please let me know what exhaust you have on your camaro and how much you paid for it?
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife They want to replace the whole exhaust. There is a service bulletin out for it. Probably will fix myself. They didn't even want to try.
This is exactly what I wanted to know about the npp. Thanks, and good video!
Wow! I never knew it basically runned straight through when the valves are open. That's awesome! Definitely getting a 6th gen V6 with this exhaust
Finally I understand how this stuff works lol thanks much brother!!

Good information... question I have the 6 Gen SS and what mode do you ride around town in?

Mine has always worked fine it might be the actual solenoid that operates it that could be stuck
This is an awesome video and explains the system very well. Love the content
always wondered why mine had 2 tips instead off 4 thanks 🙏🏼
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife I cant find a used one with it. I have seen about 10-12 used and all have regular exhaust ???
Great video man 🔥
Good video but didn't understand how you actually controlled the valves. Is drive modes the only way?
Fantastic video great explanation - thank you.

I don't think it will be louder its always nice to have the option to quiet it down if need be. If you want more noise headers are what you want.

Very informative video, thanks a lot
Thanks bro. Just test drove a 2018 1LE today.
Yes. Holy shit I was in heaven. I have a 2014 SS. Ready for the 1LE.
I need a house too. I'm just north of Denver, CO. You?

It sounds very good. I agree!
Switching from an 2017 RS to a 2017 2SS this weekend, only reason I got NPP on her is cause it just so happened to fit my trade in budget.

If I decide not to keep it stock and change the exhaust will the modes selection be eliminated since there's no valves right ?
thank you for explaining this
so if my car doesnt have valves does that mean its always loud?
It always runs through the muffler so no bypass to make it louder the car still sounds good through the muffler
Are the mufflers borla’s or some other name?
Thanks for explaining this!!
Great job again I love my duel mode exhaust know I understand how it woks Thx......
What do you think about fuse pull? I don't get y people do it when you can switch it to track/sport mode. Does it keep the valve open all the time?
L2theW doesn it make the suspension stiffer when in sport mode? But i notice tour mode gives you that soft/light ride.
L2theW oh are you talkin about the engine sound settings where you can put it in sport?
adrinz your valves close at higher rpms regardless of mode your in, removing the fuse will prevent them from closing when they wsngb
very informative thank you
Do u have to stop completely to change the modes
Thanks i figured it out it was in my infotainment system i have the 1le v6 i just changed it to auto mode selector now when i hit the mode selector everything changes now
Would it work if I installed a 2018 ss camaro NPP muffler and installed it on a 2016 Camaro v6 ? Would it work ?
L2theW so if I just wanted the ss quad muffler welded on , it would fit my v6 Camaro ?
I came here for info on my 1LE exhaust…. I got AFM automatic info
Very good video thanks

L2theW Thank you a lot for commenting back one more question will taking the valves off help or should i put the muffler back on ? Just wondering
L2theW Thank you so much you’re awsome!!
Thanks, Bro.
so if i add flowmasters on my ss it wont change much? vs having my npp valve open?
L2theW oh i see. thank u for your input

I have 2018 v6 nnp just sick..😉
I believe the rear valve is the AFM valve
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife good to know all this stuff appreciate it keep it coming!

Thanks bro , i got some answers I was looking for 👍👍 check out my 2ss
So it’s better to get the ss with the 4 tips ?
