- In this video I will show you how to link the Ring Video Doorbell and the Amazon Echo Show.
Once setup the Echo Show will automatically alert you when someone is at the door. It will also show you a live video feed and enable you to talk to the person at the door.
I have left some useful commands for you to try below.
To view the doorbell say;
Alexa, show [Front door].
To stop the doorbell feed say;
Alexa, hide the front door.
Alexa, go home.
Alexa, stop viewing recorded video
If you subscribe to a ring plan you can also view any recorded activity....
Alexa, show me the last activity from [Front door].
Alexa, show the most recent event from [Front door].
Alexa, fast-forward.
Alexa, rewind 5 seconds.
Alexa, pause.
Alexa, play. - Наука та технологія
Superb. Thank you. This was clear, concise and really helped me out. Just what I needed.
UA-cam has come such a long way since it first started all those years ago and was the butt of jokes about it being full of nothing but cat videos! Now it's a treasure trove of quality educational videos on all sorts of topics and how-to videos like this. I even find unboxing videos useful sometimes - if I need to return something I like to be considerate and return the item packaged up exactly as it was before I first opened the box and finding an appropriate unboxing video and the reversing the steps is how I get as close to that perfect repacking as I can.
Thank you for this instruction. I appreciate you.
Thank you. Good job.
thanks, helps a lot. do i need to order the separate chime from ring or does the echo show the ringtone?
Thank you for the video but I have a couple questions.
I have 5 RING cameras connected to my show 8. Sometimes when I call for a certain camera it shows as a small thumbnail view and other don't.
Also when someone ring the door bell. It announces but doesn't automatically show on the Show 8. Any help?
Thanks for the great review. Just bought both 😊
Hope you enjoy them!
Can I set my echoshow 8 to a ring floodlight to notify me of motion or person or only ring doorbell does that. Having trouble setting it up
If I'm away from home and have my Echo Show with me and connected to a remote network, can I view my Ring camera? And if so, how ?
If you have one of these will you also get notifications on an iPhone, in others words both or all devices at the same time. Thanks.
Yes you will.
I did all those steps and my Echo Show is not announcing doorbell presses nor displaying the camera automatically. I can manually open the doorbell camera but it's not doing anything when someone presses the button. Help?
I had the same problem. In the Alexa app you must aktivate the optin „Drop In“ option. After that it worked on my Echo 5.
mine won’t even open the view of the camera. Just crashes everytime. Im about to return this POS for the google hub at this point.
@@MrGD007also the dots/each devices have to be on the same network and the ring door bell for instance is only 2.4ghz compatible so everything has to be on the 2.4ghz signal. You would have to split the 2.4ghz and 5.ghz signal on the router to do this as ISP will default routers too work as one signal and let it choose which device supports which signal but you will find it never does it properly so split them up.
For me the solution to this was relinking the Ring account. Initially I’d linked my account, which isn’t the main ring account for the house, it’s a sub-account which the devices are shared with. When I linked the master Ring account to my Alexa skill, it worked immediately.
Is it possible to not get the sound notification when ring detects motion and just pops up a live view. Pressing the doorbell. I don’t mind a notification. I have it that way.
Multiple people working from home. It would be nice to get a live view to pop up on my echo devices but not be sound alerted when person detected. . And I do not want to mute my devices.
Any input would be great, I don’t see that’s an option.
I’ve set it up quick and easy apart from my Amazon doesn’t announce or sound when someone presses the bell ! What am I doing wrong?
How can I see the picture from my ring doorbell on my echo show when motion is detected? I get the picture from button press of course, but I want my picture displayed on motion. I have limited the motion based on area zone, so I look forward to finding a way to trigger the live fee on motion.
I have the exact same issue. Have you (or anyone else) figured out a solution for this?
Watch the Video from 1.52
When I press the doorbell, it only shows in picture in picture mode 🤔 how can you reset it to full screen on echo show? I have the show 8 2nd gen.
I have same question.
Did you figure it out I'm having the same problem
Is this Gen 2 ?
If I want to get rid of the audio announcement for motion/person dectection and just have the video pop up on the selected devices is that possible. ? Without muting the devices before hand. I sit at my desk very often on the phone or calls. The device is sitting right in front of me with the screen. I would like to have the camera view pop up for whatever Camera it is seen, but no audible tone announcement.
Is it possible?
this is what i need to know! i actually got mine to work sometimes but it wont turn off the feed automatically. huge oversite!
Same issue here. seems to show it for a doorbell ring, but not for motion. I BELIEVE in this case, you need to manually set up a routine. i.e. in alexa app -> new routine -> *when* [camera] detects motion -> *alexa will* type in whatever you would normally have to say i.e. "show front door" -> then last part is "Hear alexa from", which is saying which device(s) will get this command.
How do you make the image on the Echo full screen? When someone rings my doorbell it's always just a small picture.
Say Alexa "Show me the front door" or whatever you have your Doorbell named as, Then when it shows a Thumbnail press the bottom right symbol to make it full screen BEFORE you end the live view, it should then when someone presses the Doorbell show full screen because that was the mode you closed it in.
Ring doorbell shows up as pip on my echo show 8 but just stays there draining the battery. I have to manually press the x on the screen to turn it off. Also is there a way of it showing full screen automatically without me walking across the room to press expand??
Frrr I don’t want to keep expanding and walking over pls if anyone knows how to fix let me know
Mine automatically brings up the camera view when the doorbell is pressed (fantastic this is what i want) its a very small window though in the corner of the screen. I have to get up and go across the room to see whos at the door. I did maximise it but the next time it was small again. Any idea how to make it come up full screen all the time?
Same idk how to make it bigger it is so annoying on the small screen
@@kevinle1140 mine is fixed (i pressed the bit on the screen to maximise it when the small screen was on) weirdly it didnt work the first few times now its large screen every time.
Hello, can the live of the ring doorbell view be on 24hours. If so will you still be alerted for visitors?
Correction “Live view”
@@nk60001 No, Its to do with privacy policy and other random Crap, Shame as it would be a good feature.
How do I make my echo show 10 show full screen video live feed when door bell activates? It only shows a really small screen at the corner for the video feed view. I want it to be a full screen view
Say Alexa "Show me the front door" or whatever you have your Doorbell named as, Then when it shows a Thumbnail press the bottom right symbol to make it full screen BEFORE you end the live view, it should then when someone presses the Doorbell show full screen because that was the mode you closed it in.
@@kevinansell9341 thank you!
I've set up my ring doorbell to stop motion announcements between 10pm and 9am but my alexa still announces them in the off times? Can u help please
My guess is that you have an Alexa routine that shows the announcments. That routine should have 9AM to 10 PM setting.
@zenthanian hi yes so the problem was I had the routine set up on my ring doorbell app on my phone thinking that would do everything but I had to set up a routine on my akexa app as well
Simply asking Alexa to "show front door", or whatever you have named it , will bring up the camera view on echo show 8.
Simply looking through the peephole will also show you a real-time view. Its about the convenience, not compromise
I am hoping this video helps I am frustrated beyond belief trying to get these two devices to work. Alexa Show says the problem is with Ring and Ring is indicating it is an Alexa issue.
I'm having the same issue. Was this resolved, and how?
If I want the doorbell feed to always been on my Echo Show, can I set it to be my default screen? If so, how?
I do not want to see anything else but my doorbells live feed.
I can’t find ring skill in my Alexa app
Mine echo 8 shows a small thumbnail view any help anyone????
How do you electric home Doorball ring 😨 off
It's lagging and too slow to switch the camera mode on as soon as motion is detected, but for this tech it's crap and slow takes 10 seconds before switching to camera by that time it switched over the person at door has gone!
How long can you live view for can it be sat on the side all day constantly on it it’s on charge
Mine doesn’t preview automatically 😢
Neither does mine and I can't find any options to achieve this.
For me the solution to this was relinking the Ring account. Initially I’d linked my account, which isn’t the main ring account for the house, it’s a sub-account which the devices are shared with. When I linked the master Ring account to my Alexa skill, it worked immediately.
Mine and lots of people claim it doesnt automatic show live view. Must 've skipped a step because it's not automatic.. must be a European thing.
I had the same problem. In the Alexa app you must aktivate the optin „Drop In“ option. After that it worked on my Echo 5.
I live in Stuttgart
@@MrGD007what is this drop in option? Where is ot located

What if it looks connected but still wont work? It says it cant find my doorbell
Mine says that too
@@TheFabulousat40 its been driving me nuts! Its the only reason i bought it cause of the screen for my cameras
I got mine to work finally….well Amazon helped me…
@@TheFabulousat40 so call Amazon customer service?
Yes & they helped me…did you see the number
