I would take that 2 foot chop any day on the way to Catalina or even 100 miles offshore no problem. What we experienced offshore makes me love my boat even more every day when I watch videos like this. I can’t do riverboats anymore.
My dad and i were on lake pleasant one time in his little river speed boat. A monsoon came out of nowhere. 6 ft swells in that little boat. Took us an hour to safely get back to the marina. Top 3 scariest things to ever happen to me.
Nice work making it back in that snot. I have been doing the river and Havasu for 30 years and can tell you that is nothing compared to some of the worst monsoons. We have been in 4-6 ft swells where they were barreling over the front of a 55 ft house boat and the winds ripped a stainless double stitch Bimini right off the top.
I’ve driven in a monsoon and seen them swallow boat after boat I’ve learned to never drive in them if I don’t have to put bimini down and try getting into a good cove and throw anchor and usually you would be fine steamboat or copper canyon skiers cove any of those and you won’t even move
I don't have to wonder whether they were from Cali. or not.. as a resident we see the carnage (and body count) every year.. we ask to please pay attention to the weather but frankly.. no one does.. so the body count continues.

I like that the captain was safe and respectful of following distance and passing, I've had a few too many boats pass me way too close.
Great video work, also great driving. That was Crazy. I missed that weekend.

I'm on the other side, Havasu Lake and it overturned trailers and a truck trailer. I went to Bullhead and it broke signs and telephone poles.
Just there last week taking our new boat out
Omg that's us in the red ultra right at the end of the video(im hiding with the dog)!!! We wondering how it was on the lake !!! 😅

That's why there was boat accidents, people staying on the lake. When you see the haboob coming, gtfo the water.
