Anchors should be on the ready, pulling into and out of any body of water. once leaving the dock , it should be made ready to deploy, .
Watching hallover videos reminds me of moths going to the light. Most of the moths are not very bright and haulover qualifies them right away into two categories, the people that are going to wreck their boats and the people that already wrecked their boats. Also it shows that not one person on any of the vessels has ever touched a line before. The incompetence of basic seamanship was astounding. It shows that just because you have money does not make you smart
A lot of departments are cleared to rescue/ render aid to the people aboard, but not to recover the vessel. That's why they have TowBoatUS and others. Emergency vehicles aren't wreckers.
I’m no expert…but I’ve owned boats all my life. I’ve had boats in rough unintentional situations such as a having to ride out a thunderstorm or two. The inlet is navigable if you use power and trim. Learn to read and ride the swells, know when to power through or ease back. 80% of these boat owners shouldn’t be allowed on the water the way they operate.
I fing LOVE boating in FL, but if you think you're just going to take any old boat out on the Atlantic, you better make sure you have an expert on board OR take lessons. It's no joke when shit is about to hit the fan on a boat and you have no idea what to do. Besides, boating lessons are fun!
Imagine if there was a system where before you could go out on the water you had to pass a competence exam that include emergency preparedness and procedures? Radical or just plain communist?
Great idea, most states allow you to procure a boat with only your check book. Did anybody else notice the size of the anchor lines on these boats were woefully under sized both in length and diameter.
What clusterf*cks. 18:20 is the worst of them trying to handle lines. The lines come out of the locker tangled and it’s only made worse by the person who has no idea what to do with it. No one can properly coil and throw a line. If you’ve got a $50k+ boat it would make sense to learn how to protect that asset by being prepared for when something goes wrong. Sad.
I thought the second group was a little smarter putting on their life vests until I saw the officer on shore directing them. Why do people put themselves in a precarious situation and worry about their boats before life and never think about a PFD?

One week late - Me “look at my new big screen TV”
Dont' throw some of the rope. THROW ALL OF THE ROPE
How does a planned demonstration of a boat's strength qualify as one of the worst crashes?
These people have no idea sat on their backsides doing nothing instead of preparing ropes for a tow and which were all tangled.
Boat #1 has 6 people in what appears to be an 18' boat? Maybe longer? It looks overloaded to me. That's a small boat to be going out in those conditions, especially with all those people.
Puzzling why boat patrol just keeps driving past the boat sitting there banging against the rocks..isn't the goal to drag it away from shore..doesn't seem like they were in any hurry
the moment she uses her feet shows how professional she is right?
Why does that first pair of boats keep crashing into the seawall? Seems intentional
Some of these are excerpts from a Keystone Cops movie and others are The Blind Leading the Blind!
amazing , just amazing how reckless these skippers are.. not one time he made sure that every one donned on a life vest and shown how to put it on. the only good thing some one did, dropped the anchor and had it hold.. Anchors should be on the ready, pulling into and out of any body of water. once leaving the dock , it should be made ready to deploy, .
Are PFDs not for sale in the Stupid States?
Who went into the water? Maybe I missed it. PFD irrelevant when not in the water, no?
What a bunch of geniuses.
the amount of people who dont know how to put on a simple life vest is astounding
That old man should not be going out without a more experienced skipper.
at 0.32 - Not a safe move but gotta hand it to that lady in the black outfit , she is one fearless cookie.
Fine line between fearless and foolish
Watching hallover videos reminds me of moths going to the light. Most of the moths are not very bright and haulover qualifies them right away into two categories, the people that are going to wreck their boats and the people that already wrecked their boats. Also it shows that not one person on any of the vessels has ever touched a line before. The incompetence of basic seamanship was astounding. It shows that just because you have money does not make you smart
Looks like the Russian Navy is in town.
The very basics for boat captains was lacking in all of these situations. Even throwing a rope was a joke. Nobody prepared.
Why on earth are police boats manned with only one person? They can do absolutely nothing in an emergency except watching
He could have helped but showed why he shouldn't be a Captain
They have Edgar on the paddle..
Guy buys a boat, hey look at me I'm a captain now, take some courses people know, your boat be prepared.
What is the positive side of boating? I can't come up with one.
Possibly the worst design of any harbour entrance in the world.
If you posted the DATE and TIME at the beginning of your videos, we COULD find our boats. just saying boss.
Haha the boat on the rocks called “striker”. Haha yup
The boaters control the means of drowning, comrade!
Great idea, most states allow you to procure a boat with only your check book. Did anybody else notice the size of the anchor lines on these boats were woefully under sized both in length and diameter.
Washington state you have to pass a boating safety course to operate a power boat. Does absolutely no good at all. Still get idiots like these.
amazing no one knows how to throw a rope, no one puts on a life jacket- they just sit there, aaaarrrrrhhhh
Sad.
Amazing the number of people that spends thousands on a boat then spend 20 bucks on a PFD to save their life.
Why didn't the Bal Harbor Police Boat tow the bowrider boat off the rocks?
Your first part of video is not Haulover Inlet. Maybe Bosnia.
France
1:07 guy still fishing lol
I thought the second group was a little smarter putting on their life vests until I saw the officer on shore directing them.
Why do people put themselves in a precarious situation and worry about their boats before life and never think about a PFD?
