Melanie talked about all things book launch - with some great tips and things you can do yourself. She charges $75k to launch authors to WSJ best-selling status and I know 99% of us do not have that in the budget, so my task to her was to come up with 10 or more things that authors could do to launch a self published book well. It was a great session with lots of gems of wisdom.

Amazon just changed their Author page entirely the other day. No more videos, blog posts, or anything else but your book covers are there now.

They still have it on all international amazon sites but we are anticipating that it will also go away. So make sure in your bio you include links to all you social media and anything else you'd like to promote.

If I buy books as a writer and distribute to people and request them to write reviews - how can they? Since Amazon wont recognize them as the buyer of the book?

It won’t be a verified review but still a review and it will count. If there are a large number of unverified reviews then it may set off a red flag but if you’re not doing anything wrong you should be ok. You can also ask them to post on Goodreads if they cannot post on Amazon.

You can create a promo. My launch plan is to create a .99 preorder of my ebook and have my launch team purchase then when the launch day comes you will have the reviewers go add the reviews!

Yes! Authors can do this themselves. We may not have all the connections we would like but we can strive to build them over time making each launch that much better!
