    Very, very useful. Excellent narration and spot on. Had a few variations in my machine, however, the same process. My wife is very pleased that her dryer is back online.

    Outstanding instructional video. thank you so much, I replaced the belt following this exactly. Only two small differences. I think I have a slightly different model, and couldn't disconnect the wire to the front control panel (no plug). so I just kept it attached and turned the panel to the side. The other difference was I couldn't stretch the belt over the pulley wheel because it was too tight. I was finally able to get it on by first coiling it around the pulley wheel, and then onto the motor spindle. tiny difference but it made it work. Thanks again

    This can be done through the lint duct in the back without having to take the entire dryer apart. You will be working in a tight area though and make sure you put a towel over the sharp metal edges or it will cut you. All you have to do is take out one screw that holds the lint duct in on the back. Then you can get to and work on that idler pulley. I did mine that way and it was a tight work area but I got it done.

      Thank you for the feedback. The technique that you are describing works on some older models of Samsung dryers, but on all of the newer models that we have seen, they have changed the design and removed the rear access panel.

      On the older Samsung dryers you could do that, on the newer ones you have to disassemble the dryer like we show in this video.

    We are having problems with our Samsung RF23M8080SR - are all Samsung products useless. We are on our fourth machine replaced under guarantee. What would you recommend - Miele and Neff produce excellent products.

      Whats the problem? Cooling? Ice maker?

      I am a scientist and could have fixed the problems myself, however, it is not a cheap refrigerator, it is under guarantee, so why should I.
      After 2 years of ownership the ice maker starts to freeze up. I had 3 months of problems whilst Samsung tried to fix it. After a further two months the fan started to make a grinding noise. Samsung came out and replaced the fan (~2 months) a few months later we were back to square one - new fan, new defrost sensor, new fuse. During their visits Samsung found that the build up of ice had cracked the back plastic interior. It took a further 3 months without a fridge before they came and replaced it.
      Two years and similar story with the ice maker. Took a further two months of visits (new icemaker, processor board plus modifications). Six months later control panel became dead rendering machine unusable. The Samsung engineer visited over the next two months replacing the control panel, processor board, draw front, plus visits with a number of wrong parts. I was extreimly frustrated as it was clear that neither Samsung nor its engineers had a clue. I searched UA-cam and found two video's explaining what I thought was the liketly problem.
      ua-cam.com/video/vr2AThDz9GI/v-deo.html
      ua-cam.com/video/_AhmG0GkWXY/v-deo.html
      _Sorry about the quality of the video's._
      I forced the engineer to watch the video's who after some disassembly confirmed that this was indeed the problem. Samsung stated that the wiring harness is part of the cabinet, hence, had to replace the fridge/freezer. .... another wait of a few months.
      As stated I am on my fourth fridge/freezer. Amusingly each time that they have replaced it I have been given a new 5 year guarantee.
      A few days ago the freezer defrosted. I am hoping one of my children forgot to close the door.

      @@Land-of-reason for the ice maker, most likely the heater on the ice maker died on you.
      Hold top button on both sides for about 15 seconds. You'll see all leds light up, but continue to hold until you hear a 'ding/belly then release. This is called a hard boot.
      Once the fridge comes back up(3-5mins), if there is an issue, you will get an error code.
      Now, if your ice maker compartment is freezing up, and you did NOT compromise it with the 'hairdryer method' (don't ever use a hair dryer), then most likely you will see a c39 error code.
      If you are noticing the ice is wet and extremely brittle, then most likely the temp sensor on the auger is bad and you will need to replace the auger.

      @@Land-of-reason for the flex drawer(and I didnt even watch the video... I am 99.9% positive what it is)...
      I am not fond of the flex zone wiring located on the right side.
      What tends to happen is the wire winds up protruding outside of the railway and iver time eventually gets frayed, spliced or outright cut in half.
      Its a poor design imho but there is one contributing factor; overloading the drawer on the right side with things causes this. The culprit to my finding 10 out of 10 times has been liquids, such as bottles waters, canned seltzer, beer etc.

    • @robecac6505
      @robecac6505 3 роки тому

      @@Land-of-reason on the ice build up, 8 out of 10 times its due to the condenser coils never being cleaned. Oull out the fridge, open the back and look at the right-hand side coils. Ensure they are clean. If not, clean them. I recommend checking this as a preventative measure at least once a year, if not every 6 months.
      In all my years, I've seen maybe 4 fans die. They typically do not die. Thats thousands of customers.
      If the plastic housing has been compromised they do have an insulation kit to resolve that... HOWEVER, you need to pull the fridge out and check the back for condensation(dry or wet spots) or discolored circular sections.
      If any of the above 3 are found, the fridge is most likely toast, bur to the insulation now being compromised.

    Any idea why the idler pulley screw would just keep spinning and not come out?

    • @PartsDr
      @PartsDr  Рік тому

      We haven't run into that. Does yours have a nut on the back side or is it stripped?
