- Welcome (back, hopefully) folks.
Grab your lance, use your squire as a stepping stool and hop on your oversized destrier because here we go. This time I'm showcasing both reworked Vlandians, Sturgians and Skolderbrotva troops in one great big mockery of a recreation of the Battle of Hastings.
Things you will see in this video include thousands (really, thousands) of people dying, some horses and a lot of joggers in full kit.

we really need better formation handling worked into the game. it would be nice to be able to pre set how formations spawn in and cut down on the command times. i know there are mods for this but it should be already in the game.
Totally agree. If the one guy behind RTS camera can introduce so much more functionality to the system before the game is even fully released, I dont feel like TW has an excuse. This is he exact same system copy pasted from warband.
I think they need to improve the battle commanding amongst AI and not just the possibilities for players since that is a bit tedious and some people don’t want to crate custom formations
@@owenswanson7849 i have to agree with yooure statement. The ai does need lots of work in the battlefield command area. Especially in the army composition. Most armies i fought last night were riddled with tier 1 troops. Easily mowed down by my elite imperial foot archers. Only to be mopped up by my elite imfantry.
The games far from done and i hope they fix several battle related issues.

@@AlphaOmegaMan Agreed, it is a terribly clunky UI. I don't want it cut down in utility, but it needs shortcuts for usability within the context of a heated battle. I've used macro commands on a programmable mouse to bypass tediously lengthy command trees.
Unfortunately this is what happens when you have pure programmers come up with solutions. They're very smart, but one dimensional in their approach to users - "this is everything you'd need, job done". UI guys should not be about making things look pretty, but rather making things utterly streamlined in usability - I fear they get scorned and the skills of the better ones are not appreciated, so cheaper ones come in and think it's about beautifying an interface.
Allowing players to pre-configure unit formations and save templates would help, but this is half the problem.

Taleworlds should have you do battle examples as your videos are the best I've seen that look and feel like a real battle with solid tactics keep up the great work 👍

Now all we need is some supreme ai enhancements, personally I want to see auto delegate that actually works well, or as rts does an overhead camera to control where units are. The vanilla ai is frustrating, I find I’ll either win or lose depending what they do, if they come to me, almost instant win no matter the odds. If they hole up, usually a loss. And when joining a fight between 2 ai, good luck haha, they’ll run their units into slaughterous situations like it was going out of style, losing battles that would be easily won if both sides had smart ai. Though it’s hard, as holding out can be a good idea when outnumbered, but it should be easier to draw an enemy out, or even better if the spawn was moved, I find myself having to do smaller scale battles bc of hardware and it’s frustrating when you are running an enemy to the hills and suddenly a whole contingent spawn right behind you or on top, in thinking a system like “checkpoints” where if you controlled a certain amount of the battle field it would push the spaw point forward to prevent the units just endlessly running with no formation into the middle, I find as soon as the charge happens it just goes to chaos and the ai doesn’t like to hold a line or any other formation. Just some thoughts, a mod that addresses some of the issues would go beautifully with the one you are creating so far
