- Slipknot Fans.....FEELIN' YOU!!! Tonight we're coming back to Slipknot, with a song entitled "Purity". FULL DISCLOSURE: I know I've heard this song before, I bought the CD and I listened to it all the way through one time and then I tossed it. I was not a fan of the album at all, and I never listened to it again. That was over 20 years ago, and I honestly do not remember this song at all. How's this one gonna go? Only one way to find out...

This is one of my favorite Slipknot songs. Both the lyrics and the sound make the song very dark and heavy where you are meant to feel what Purity is going through. Making the song sound like it's all over the place is supposed to represent Puritys emotions.

Them scratching at the start and the melodic vocals are great. I was huge on prosthetics

That change up to the melodic part just elevates this song from good to amazing. The contrast just works so well and makes you want to go back to it over and over again. It's the same way I feel about Angry Chair from AIC.
Instrumental is great on this song, but imo the clean vocals are out of place and could have been better. I think the chorus behind Corey's clean singing is great, but it's the clean singing which isn't. It kinda drags the song, but doesn't make it any less enjoyable to me.
Yeah this sounds highly experimental when it came to their sound
Greetings from Brazil !! I'm a big fan of your content, when it comes to Slipknot I think you need to hear the songs from the album All Hope is gone that are brilliant Instrumentally and lyrically. Some from this album that I think you should listen to: Gematria, Gehenna and Til We Die.

Spit it out is awesome! Super visceral and intense. If I remember the drumming is awesome in that one too.
I bought this album when it first came out in 99 and for the most part, I do enjoy the album. But this is one of the few tracks I skip every single time because it's just not good. lol I can almost bet this is only the second time I have ever listened to the song with the the first time being in '99 when I bought the CD. 😂 And I can almost bet this will be the last time I ever listen to it..........
I'm not a big Slipknot fan at all, but there are much better songs on this album and much better songs in the rest of their catalogue.
Giving your intro, wouldn’t make much sense to request any Fear Factory? I’m guessing you know their work? Such a good band, unique sound and heavy AF! Loving your reactions, real genuine 🤘🏼
I know some of their work. Soul of A New Machine, Fear Is The Mindkiller, Demanufacture, Remanufacture, and Obsolete. I lost interest after Obsolete, I wasn't really thrilled with that album.
I still want to know more about your list. Sometimes it feels like people have given you their favorite bands entire discography. Any chance you'd do a Q&A going through things like the most requests you've got for one band or something?

@@THEDavidHeretic like I'd be interested in knowing which bands have the most number of requested songs, which bands have had large clumps of requests at one time.
It seems like it does happen and you spread them out through months. Similar to what you are doing with the moments in sports videos you're working through now.
@@shawn4819 Well I can tell you I've done over 100 reactions to Pearl Jam, so their still on top of the mountain currently.
I do try my best to spread out and break up the "clumps" when I get like 5 requests in a row to the same band. That way they are not burned out and overly done, plus it gives us all a chance to enjoy them longer. I may not always succeed, but I do my best to spread things out and give variety to the channel.
Ik some people don't like the song but that song can give me enough energy for the whole day

Yeah rhis is from thier 99 self titled album. They got better. Thier album iiwa in 2001 is much superior and us considered thier darkest and best album. More technical,more death metaly and industrial sounding at times. That album is pure fury and hate.
review is great i was fan of them at HS but as i get old and understand more music i stop listening them , for reasons u did mention...it feels unnatural and they often do too much in song without any direction or point
The album version is not bad, but the live version in the Disasterpieces DVD is much MUCH better. Listen to THAT version when you can.
It's a bit like "Lovebites" . They sound much better live than in the albums.

@@Themaskplague comparing to other songs, in my opinion, it’s not so good. You can’t suggest this song to someone that hasn’t listened yet their best tracks. I repeat, it’s my humble opinion

Indeed not the best song off the album, Surfacing, Eyeless and Sic are my favorites from this album
From this album, why show DH this song? a waste of time for him! There are so many other better songs! David, I hope you can review other songs from this album.
I would say it’s an acquired taste
You should have listened to Frail Limb Nursery first Dave. The reason why this wasn't on the copy you purchased was because they were in litigation about this song because it was based on a fictional story of a woman being buried alive. The family of a woman who actually was sued the band for trying to profit off of it, which wasn't true. The band won and it was added to future copies. The song sounds discordant and chaotic because it's representing a woman being buried alive in her last moments. I wish you would have done some background on this song.
I don't like it but I don't hate it I'm down the middle
I enjoy some of the songs on this album more now than when it was released, but I still would prefer to listen to their newest album, where they have more melody, mixed blues and metal even, songs like Acidic and De Sade.
Fanfare comes from the dark story of this song, its just twisted and terrible and strictly for the "maggots"(slipknot heads). Guys why you do this to Dave? 😂😬

@@syntheticreality549bros favorite song is Psychosocial. Honestly to me the only good Slipknot is the first 3 albums. Everything after that can suck it.

I wish with all my heart you would start reacting to more mainstream artists, like KISS, Maiden, Sabbath, etc. Not sure how much longer I can stick with ya bro. Sorry.
KISS is gonna be pretty much impossible, I own every single album and I know all of their songs by heart. It would have to be live performances, and even then it would have to be live performances I've never seen before.
Maiden could be a possibility, it depends on the song and whether or not it's a live video.
Sabbath is very much like KISS, I know most of their studio work. If I get requested to do a live video there's a good chance I'd be able to do it.
The thing is, no one is requesting those bands on the Patreon page. If someone requests them, I'll definitely add them to the que.
