  • In this video I declutter and reorganise key areas of my bedroom. I clean out the junk under my bed, closet and floor space, declutter my summer and winter clothing and reorganise in preparation for customizing my wardrobe space. I hope you enjoy it!
I warmly acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which I filmed, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. I acknowledge their profound connection to the land, and pay my respects to their elders, past, present and emerging.

You did a great job! I'm so glad you kept that animal print scarf. If you don't use it around your neck, you could always tie it to your handbag or tie it around a low pony to cover the elastic. I'm looking forward to your future organization vids.

I’m europe where our homes can be quite small we have beds with canapé (storage) bases which is an excellent storage option. The stuff is contained, invisible and not on the floor. It’s a huge space to use. The whole base opens up hydraulically and I love having the extra space.

Oh I've seen those types of beds. So much storage space! 😍

Good on you for getting rid of so much. Minimalism is the best. But keeping what you love is definitely okay 🙂. Minimialsm is as much about not buying more as it is about have less stuff. Your wardrobe definitely reflects your style. Most people just have a random selection of clothes they are bought - I definitely used to be guilty of this.

You can’t beat linen in summer, the more you wear and wash it the better it gets. I have found Aussie linen clothing to be the best quality by far. Which means when a piece finally dies i panic because I can’t replace it as I no longer visit Oz.

Yes we do have beautiful linen here and a good climate to wear it. I hope you find a great new source for future clothing purchases! 😍

Nice job decluttering and organizing your bedroom.
I have the feeling you still have a lot of spare hangers. To evaluate how many you may need, try to put them in the closet. If they can't fit properly, it means there is no space for additional clothes, thus no need for additional hangers :)
For your maybe clothes, if you want to speed the process a little bit, you could try to make a conscious effort in the next weeks to choose clothes from the maybe pile. You will know very quickly why they are not not in your "for sure keep" pile.
I heard you say that you would have liked to declutter more, but you like the clothes you kept. But if I may, the real reason for keeping clothes is not that we like them but that we wear them (I don't know how to say it nicely). There are a lot of reasons why we would like some pieces (the color is great, the fabric soft, the shape gorgeous) but never wear them (they are itchy, too small/big, the color doesn't fit your skin tone, you don't look great in them, and so on). If we keep all the things we like but never wear, it's difficult to have a peaceful wardrobe.

You make a good point about keeping clothes we like but don’t wear. I think that’s a major difficulty for me personally

You make some very good points. Most of the maybes do fit well and I've found myself already reaching for some of them. It would be nice to get the number of items down once I've gotten through some of the bigger changes to the apartment and I have a bit more mind space. Thanks for watching! 😍

I LOVE all your pale linen shirts and tops! I just got back to wearing linen last summer and have 2 linen shirts, one dressier going out to dinner blue and white floral top and two linen cotton blend long pants which I like because c they don't wrinkle quite as much as pure linen.

Great job sorting through all the things in your bedroom. You have some beautiful clothes. Like you, I live in Melbourne and struggle to minimise my wardrobe to the degree I see from my favourite minimalists. I like to be comfortable and to do lots of different activities which require different clothes. When clothes fit me well, are flattering and provide versatility and variety in my wardrobe I find it very hard to let them go, even though I would prefer to simplify and make it easier to choose outfits day to day and especially to pack for travel. I am excited to see the other things you have done and also how you will redesign your wardrobe.

Especially for your bulky winter coats, have you considered the compression type bags? The ones you vacuum to get the air out so they shrink down for storing. I find they work great for my heavy bulky things, blankets, duvets etc.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Most of the clothes are from Country Road Australia with a few pieces from Everlane, Assembly Label, Seed Heritage and Elka Collective. Then the odd piece from smaller labels like Ozma and Nobody Denim. I'm not sure where you are located but below are some links 😍

I learned from a feng shui master that keeping things underneath the bed will bring anxiety, restlessness and stuck energy into life.
