I started a campaign with Drazhoath the Ashen (because he seemed the coolest) and I think it is the most fun I’ve ever had in Warhammer 3. It is a complex balancing act to manage all you enemies and borders while keeping supply chains in place to fuel the economy and grow influence- but so rewarding! Even the slave units are fun to play with and the unit caps for elites make composing your armies a fun challenge on what troops to prioritize. My favorite DLC faction to date.
I reinstalled after a lot of time today and yeah, this campaign is a BLAST, straight to the top with my all time favourites - Ikkit Klaw, Grom the Paunch and Taurox. All completely diferent, all beautifully realized in their theme.
I found Kholek to be more of an issue than Grimgor in my Astragoth campaign. Probably a mistake on my part not using diplomacy with him though. Grimgor didn't declare war on me until after I had wiped out Kholek and his Vassal, and by that point it was pretty easy to sweep through his lands, as he had been moving south, and wasn't much of a challenge by the time I fought him directly.
@@M4xCarnag3 I actually went over to the High pass first, wrecked the skaven in the area; Then grimgor ignored everyone else and went straight to me. I quickly reconquered my lost territory, and started going through grimmy's, and now the saberskin are after my guts. I suppose they're next on the chopping block, but by Hashut they are annoying. Also, I've managed to secure military access with Valkia the bloody, so we'll see what happens next.
@@samuelevans738 I took a similar path toward the skaven at the start, but they sued for peace with one settlement left, which I was happy to accept since Kholek had just entered my lands and was going after the eastern settlement in my starting area. Didn't end up finishing off those skaven until like turn 85 though, because they went across the river, and after I finished off Grimgor, I had to deal with the WoC faction to the north of Kholek's starting area, who had declared war on me too by that point.
The campaign of Drazhoath the Ashen starts rather slow, but ho boy does it snowball faster and faster and faster. Especially when you know how to properly abuse your. . . Labourers. . . You get to claim a lot of the seats yourself and confederate your fellow Dawi-Zharr - which gives you more influence and power. If I could rename my faction without mods, I would rename it to Amazon every time I play with friends. I thought Ikit Claw steamrolls and spreads fast - he doesn't compare! The lack of supply lines and cheap armies allow the Chaos Dwarfs to play like Skaven if they wish! My best advice to keep your labourer rates high: create a cheap gobbo spearman army and raid the very south area of Clan Carrion and don't get too close and they will proceed to do absolutely nothing about it, while your army pays for itself and further armies, as well as quick influence. Once you need more. . . Workers, just build a new throw-away army and raid down there with two, then three. . . etc. Due to the lack of supply lines, this makes it one of the best means to passively generate money, influence and order by getting you loads of . . . Voluntary workers.
I know im a bit late but first chaos dwarf lord i played was drazoath and it was extremely hard because i didnt rush inrik and grimgor and they were a problem i played zhatan the black next i thought he was gonna be generic but he was extrenely fun powerhouse with his surbivability he also started in a very easy position and was much easier necause he wasnt sorrounded by just enemies and his 2 convoys are especially helpfull

Take a drink every time he says "substantial". You will be drunk in no time.😅
You mean, substantially drunk?
You dare to downplay the undisputed pre eminence of the AstraGoth? Feed him to the labourers!
What labor? Zhatan has it all. :)
@@Costin_Gaming Oh, we've got a wise guy on our hands huh? Alright then, take him to the bull centaurs!

💯 agree with getting spells on heroes to free up points for your lord on the campaign. There are some exceptions like Teclis.

you can rename your faction without mods, just click the edit button in the faction panel
I thought starting close to grimgor was a big benefit for astrogoth myself. Was able to take him out immediately before he even got his first waagh
You glossed over the piercing intellect too fast. That skill gives him burning wrath as a bound (free of WoM) spell with 3 uses which is pretty good.
Starting near grimgor is a god send, you can wipe him before he ends up unstoppable.

drazhoath is so op with the flames of azgorgh costing 9 winds of magic
by turn 60 i had confederate all of the dwarfs whit thta + 10 influece its op
Is there a limitation with laborers like there was with souls for the Chaos where you can't get laborers from deamon units?
Think you can.
Around what turn do caravans start showing up at the black fortress
3-4+
Cant Drazoath the Ashen get artillery at all or just not in the beginning?
Costin just meant he doesnt start with artillery
