Apparently, Guerilla didn't like that players could make mince meat out of their machines in HZD. Majority of players compared HZD to Monster Hunter World in terms of combat. This variant of player has little mechanical knowledge of HZD combat. Guerilla made the games combat lengthier in HFW by nerfing elemental effects and reducing multiplier damage. These changes significantly reduced Aloys damage potential.
I have the platinium. Every time i kill the Fire Claw in the frozen wild's cauldron i feel "I have enough of this place.". Its so well made it end exacly when it suppose to end. Its such relief seeing the nature when get out. One of the best places in the game and offering the best boss fight.
but for real tho fireclaw is the abosulte nightmare of a machine and I cant forget the pain it inflicted on me when I tried killing it in ultra hard and not a new game+ bro even a thunderjaw is much more lineant

I'm hoping in the next game they really lean into riding/controlling/climbing machines even more. If you could strategically climb on a thunder jaw shadow of the colossus style, and hack away at certain parts while trying to hold on that would be awesome, especially with the introduction of the grapple hook.
Dude you are a G taking on these machines!! I have the soul reaver armor and I have a hard time with those damn fire Bears. But one thing is; I absolutely am in love with the story! So well done; the whole appoca-shit storm and the crazy billionaire scientist that destroys the world with his ego is just too much! Damn good job with killing all those machines. I definetly need to working parry and dodge, lol!!
Fireclaws has very hard to read at first patterns of attacks, there is a sweet spot like 10m-20m away from the machine that I would recommend staying in for the machine to be predictable, and you always need to keep your eyes on the machine, it is very fast after all. To be honest I'm in love with the combat this game offers, but I enjoyed every bit of the story as well, beautifully crafted masterpiece of a game!

I must say I have played this game a fair amount of time but I just played a traditional sneaky archer :) I didn't really get into what all of those elements actually do and just aimed for the sweetspots and kept dodging since the start. Maybe I should try this in the new part

honestly, would be interseted to see how alloy would do in survival, just keep spawning in enemies, with alloy on one side, corrupted on the other and neutral inbetween, can override some machines in middle before the corrupted get to them, maybe the corrupted come in waves or something, eventually Hephaestus daemonic machines start coming with corrupted as well
I thought it was just gonna be a compilation of someone shooting arrows while bunnyhopping. This was amazing. By the way, in the cauldron where there's two frostclaws. I just spammed blast bombs on them when they got close to each other and they died within a few seconds on UH
Have you just got a really good freeze bow cause it looks like you just shoot them wherever with freeze and then they cant do anything walk to the weakspot break the armor and then hit the weakspot and then it dies or do you also shoot then in certain spots with freeze cause i really dont know how

This is best Horizon game in my opinion. Aloy feels more powerful in the first game, bow techniques was not limited to just one type of bow, evasion dodge rolls was long and unlimited, stamina worry was nonexistent. Weapon and gear mods had to be farmed by machines only not bought. I can't believe I'm going to say this, the weapons and gears in the first game was the right amount given to the player. Not too much, not too little.
Don't forget that you can mod the game on PC and spawn any challenge you want for yourself, which is the best thing ever, I made a guide recently on how to install the mods.

How did you continue to play the game? Did you create like the NEW GAME+ thingy or did u just chose the option to play from the moment closely before the ending?
How I kill on harder difficulties (no freeze) : Step 1 - Take tear last arrows and shoot of both the side cannons to weaken defenses and disable probably the most annoying attack, Step 2 - Take your fully decked 150% damage weave 50% handling banuk bow and 3 shot it with notching. Hope this totally non time consuming tutorial helped!

ICE RAIL, you'll get the weapon really soon, Frozen Wilds DLC weapon. you can go to merchant and get it there too. but you'll have to upgrade it as well to be more effective and have coils on it eventually.
My preferred hardware is Mouse & Keyboard, much easier for me in every game since I was like 4 years old.. Also on controller you will have to switch weapons by using the weapon wheel, which will make the timings of each kill longer by a bit (on M&K, 1-4 is are the buttons for quick swap weapons based on the weapon wheel locations) So my recommendation is, if you have the game on PC, try it out with mouse & keyboard for better accuracy and response time when you're fighting the machines 🏹🦾❤️

Hey I'm new to controller, played Horizon zero dawn on pc and now playing forbidden west. How do you sim in this fkin thing. It has totally ruined the exp. for me. Any tips on that

the damage is insane maybe i need to do another 2 more runs after the 2nd one to get all the legendary mods to min max rn im on ultra hard for ng+ though fire claw toobulky for me rn it takes forever to kill hence more window for mistakes
I'm on HZD, so take that into consideration, Epic gear is the best here, the x2 damage buff from Powershot being pulled all the way, and another x2 Damage buff because of Freeze brittle state, that's how I got those numbers. And I highly recommend the best gear, it's switching the gameplay to be much more about combos instead of Freestyle play.

how are you immediately loading three arrows without putting in the second or pulling up the weapon wheel for another bow? edit: ah ok they made the combat on PC slightly easier with hotswap mechanics, didn't they?
Reloading all the weapons and switching between the weapons for the huge burst damage, and yes, on PC there are buttons 1-4 which are the positions on the weapon wheel, it's a faster way to switch between weapons. These weapons are Banuk weapons (Frozen Wilds DLC Weapons) that Ice weapon is called *Ice Rail* and can spray freeze or load freeze particle and send it long range, like a sniper Champion bow - War bow with much better stats that looks beautiful Striker bow - Very strong and fast hunter bow. Powershot bow 🏹 - The strongest bow in the game, basically like a sharpshot bow but deals more then twice the damage if you fully draw your arrows. There are more Banuk weapons ~ Stromslinger - Shoots electricity blasts Forgefire - a Flamethrower, with the alternative mode basically shooting Fireballs and if you put enough handling on that weapon, it is the strongest in the game after the Powershot...
These are the Adept Variations of the weapons, You can get them by playing New Game+, Merchants offer them in their Inventory, same goes for the Frozen Wilds Merchants also You can get +1 Armour Coil slot on the Outfits.

The Frozen Wild is an excellent DLC!! Beautiful area, new beautiful and strong machines, and the introduction to Daemonic machines is awesome 👍

How I kill on harder difficulties (no freeze) : Step 1 - Take tear last arrows and shoot of both the side cannons to weaken defenses and disable probably the most annoying attack, Step 2 - Take your fully decked 150% damage weave 50% handling banuk bow and 3 shot it with notching. Hope this totally non time consuming tutorial helped!
Yea my fave tactic is the same as yours, but I also use the Tara blaster to pop open the thunde jaws heart

ICE RAIL, you'll get the weapon really soon, Frozen Wilds DLC weapon. you can go to merchant and get it there too. but you'll have to upgrade it as well to be more effective and have coils on it eventually.

Hello, do u use kontrol freeks for ur controller it would be great help to know.
My preferred hardware is Mouse & Keyboard, much easier for me in every game since I was like 4 years old..
Also on controller you will have to switch weapons by using the weapon wheel, which will make the timings of each kill longer by a bit (on M&K, 1-4 is are the buttons for quick swap weapons based on the weapon wheel locations)
So my recommendation is, if you have the game on PC, try it out with mouse & keyboard for better accuracy and response time when you're fighting the machines 🏹🦾❤️

That was sick! You should play without crosshairs. This is probably the first and only game I'd recommend everyone to play without crosshairs. It's changes the whole game.
I did but then it reduces the speed of reflex shooting for me, which is bad for viewers that like constant action on screen

the damage is insane maybe i need to do another 2 more runs after the 2nd one to get all the legendary mods to min max rn im on ultra hard for ng+ though fire claw toobulky for me rn it takes forever to kill hence more window for mistakes
I'm on HZD, so take that into consideration, Epic gear is the best here, the x2 damage buff from Powershot being pulled all the way, and another x2 Damage buff because of Freeze brittle state, that's how I got those numbers.
And I highly recommend the best gear, it's switching the gameplay to be much more about combos instead of Freestyle play.

At this point I'm using armours in the game for variety of styles for each clip,
I do use the shield weaver in "Aloy vs All Corrupted machines simultaneously" and other huge challenges similar to that concept.

edit: ah ok they made the combat on PC slightly easier with hotswap mechanics, didn't they?
Reloading all the weapons and switching between the weapons for the huge burst damage,
and yes, on PC there are buttons 1-4 which are the positions on the weapon wheel, it's a faster way to switch between weapons.

These weapons are Banuk weapons (Frozen Wilds DLC Weapons)
that Ice weapon is called *Ice Rail* and can spray freeze or load freeze particle and send it long range, like a sniper
Champion bow - War bow with much better stats that looks beautiful
Striker bow - Very strong and fast hunter bow.
Powershot bow 🏹 - The strongest bow in the game, basically like a sharpshot bow but deals more then twice the damage if you fully draw your arrows.
There are more Banuk weapons ~ Stromslinger - Shoots electricity blasts
Forgefire - a Flamethrower, with the alternative mode basically shooting Fireballs and if you put enough handling on that weapon, it is the strongest in the game after the Powershot...

These are the Adept Variations of the weapons, You can get them by playing New Game+, Merchants offer them in their Inventory, same goes for the Frozen Wilds Merchants
also You can get +1 Armour Coil slot on the Outfits.
