i bought the white one about 2yrs ago, it has been near flawless, I only had one string that was ever so slightly off on the intonation. only thing I'd change is to upgrade the pickups, a JB/Jazz set from Seymour Duncan. one of the best bargain guitars out there.
Good to know. I tried one of these 5 years ago and it had really sharp fret ends. I think companies are getting better with all that now. But no fret buzz and low action.
Yeah, they seem to finally realize even an inexpensive guitar needs a basic setup and quick run over the fret ends to keep returns down and sales up. Thanks for watching.
I bought this guitar 2 month ago. I tried 6 jackson guitars and 5 of them where with sharp fret ends and one was ok...yes sharp fret ends are the bigest problem for jackson guitars that are under 800 euros
I have had to use 3in one oil and a drop in the fine tuners I found that after stretching the spring and the strings ,it stopped it from going out of tune, it has a arch top to add to it I filed the contour were my picking arm rested love the 24 frets pick-ups are Hot and sinkranised
Just grabbed one a month back. I used to play BC and LTDs.. The Neck, I love the neck. My thumb was broken and never healed properly and the depth/width of the neck is very comfortable. I never thought my thumb position/feel on a neck mattered, Its all fingers right?? Nah. Keep the thumb in mind.
i have the same guitar. repainted it and put an emg 81 in the bridge. used the trem rout cover to make a neck cavity cover lol. one of my better sounding guitars for metal. i have quite a few different models
I just bought the same but in satin black for the the price and what i wanted it for, i had to. ❤ Jackson. 2 RRs, kelly pro, soloist, 3 dinkys and a king v
That's awesome. Was looking at the Kelly in red recently. Just bought a JS34Q in transparent red, be up 1st of the month. I really love Ibanez & Jackson. Depends on the model as to which I prefer, but Jackson definitely has better color and body style selections, imo. I really want to try a Soloist. Thinking that may be the more expensive guitar for the channel next year.
Did you try using the trem? That block looks really close to the cover. It almost looks like the cover would stop it moving freely inside. Maybe just the lighting in the photo though. Love that color. Sounds great too.
I have. The bar will go all the way to the body. You're correct about the pic lighting. I really wanted the to show the block, but didn't consider the overall view. Oops.
The JS22 has an arch top, which some people like. I prefer the arm contour of the JS11. The js22 also has a compound radius and little nicer feeling neck, at least to me.

This is an excellent beginner guitar. Really can't get better quality for the money. They hold up really well from my experience. That said, there is no best. Every style guitar feels different. I definitely think new players should at least get there hands on this or the js32 and see how they like the neck. Firefly makes feature heavy guitars that play great for under $200. The JS32, JS34Q both have locking trems. I believe they are modern size tuners, so any decent tuner would do. Really depends on how much you want to spend.
@@benpowersguitar okay so, I just ordered one yesterday. I know a couple things I’ll need to do to it pretty soon. The one thing most everyone talks about is changing the tuners for better ones. So, what’s the best tuners that can work on this guitar? I’m looking at maybe a set of Gotoh 510’s.
I didn't verify on this one, as mine was tight. There should a little set screw on the block. Some screws you can get to by pressing the bar down, others the trem has to be taken out.
If you are doing dive bombs and the like, it isn't going to stay in tune. If you are doing Gilmour type stuff, it will be fine. Sounds like you may want to look at the locking trem version, the JS32.
@@SonicVR12 Some Dinky's have a thinner body & some don't. Dinky isn't a description nowadays so much as a line name. My Dinky DK2XR is as thick as my RG550, and my JS32 & JS34Q are thinner than a strat, more like a Squier Bullet strat. Yeah, Minion are the small scale. Kind of want to try one.
@@SonicVR12 They are not. You have to go the Mikro in Ibanez for small scale. Gio necks are not quite as slim as the Wizard 3's that come on standard RG's & S series.

@@benpowersguitar the way it sounds in your video is actually excellent. What Im experiencing personally though is that when I try to play chords for example they are not so clear. @@Martin-5000 Just to be sure, have you tried adjusting pickup height or adjusting the amp EQ & gain? Also, what's the amp? I have found this and certain other guitars to sound considerably different through 10-20w amps compared to something like my 40w Mustang II.
@@benpowersguitar i havent tried adjusting the pickup height and also noticed the low e string has quite a bit of buzz even though its brand new. I have a mustang lt25amp.
