Galiano Island: Why I like solo camping

As soon as the weather warms up, I do a lot of camping. I sleep in my tent almost every weekend and most of the time I'm camping with my partner, friends or my parents. But once a year, I like to do a solo camping adventures to one of the southern Gulf Islands. Why? You might ask. Well, you'll just have to watch and find out!

I live on my sailboat on the island. I moved here from Alberta 6 years ago and I still can't believe I live here. I like camping too and finding new trails.

I was born and raised in Nanaimo and lived there all my life, . but a 4 years ago I moved to the Cariboo region of BC. I hunted fished and camped the island for 60 years, and camped all over, but the last 20 years mainly north end past Sayward and around Vernon lake. there will be tons of places for you to explore, but prepare to get rained on a lot especially up island. That is one reason I moved away. I will have to be checking back to see where you are traveling that I have gone to. Enjoy the island .... Mike
