Excited for another Tommy update. I’m hooked on this story! Appreciate y’all’s diligent and thorough coverage and am grateful for y’all holding Tommy accountable. Can’t wait for the show to start! 🤘🏻
This really was the perfect capper for the Tommy story on the CU Podcast. A man who publicly bragged about his accomplishments, boasted that he doesn't lose and promoted his dubiously true successes in pitch documents now reduced to saying saying he should have never been trusted to pay back loans. All that puffery about his status for so many years, and in the end he's using the Arnold Rimmer defense: "He is only guilty of being Tommy Tallarico. That is his crime; it is also his punishment."
First there was The OJ Defense (If the glove doesn't fit...). Then South Park gave us The Chewbacca Defense (It does not make sense). Now we have The Talarico Defense!
I'm a restaurant broker and deal with liquidations all the time. Regarding the office furniture, they won't get shit for it. Maybe 10%-20% of the retail price. Then you have to pay someone to move it and if a large amount, an auction house. So, it's pretty worthless.
And don't forget storage costs, no matter how temporary, is inventory that's taking up space for actual salable items. I hope they wring em' for double since he's also being held culpable to legal costs too.
If you go to any auction site, there are always deals on lightly used or even new office equipment and furniture. The minimum bids are ridiculously low. That's how a prudent startup should outfit their office, especially pre-revenue. But not Tommy. He's so image-obsessed he needed everything new and in matching blue. He never should've been anywhere near the CEO spot.
Correction Pat, in bankruptcy, it's not about who is owed the most but the nature of the claim against the persons. For example, employees owed wages are the first to get paid, then debtors, then anyone who has a claim of ownership
Tommy “wouldn’t that be something” tallirico destroyed his legacy, and now will be remembered as one of the biggest scammers in video game history. Good job Tommy.
Speaking as a fan of the Intellivision & someone who grew up with it as their first video game console, Tommy has also ruined the Intellivision's legacy as left behind and kept alive under Keith Robinson's stewardship & frankly has desecrated it and his memory.
Tommy’s legacy was pretty fucking limited to start with. A notch in soundtrack lore is generous. Dude is a fucking egomaniacal fucking dolt. It is hilarious that he will forever be known by this catastrophe tho. Just a total dickhead.
@@shadowen1942 Exactly my thoughts and feelings. I couldn't care less about Tommy Tallarico, but I do feel horrible that the Intellivision and Keith Robinson's legacy has been dragged through the mud like this. The more I think about it, the more angry I get about this whole situation.
I love that one of Tommy defenses is "You should have known I would never pay this back!". It's like a thief arguing "Hey, if you had a better lock on your back door, I wouldn't have been able to rob you." Tommy is literally arguing the furniture company should have known he was full of shit and was going to be a deadbeat.
@@Mike__P Not in this situation. This isn't so high-powered legal firm overwhelming an individual contractor who can't afford a lawyer. This is Tommy "Legal Incoming" Tallarico's lawyer neighbor running ChatGPT and spewing goobledygook.
It's not that bad of an argument in some cases where lenders like Credit Acceptance loan money to people who can't afford it at predatory interest rates.
When they repossess Tommy's house and all of its contents, think how upset he will be by how they undervalue the objects in the Spider Man, Waterfall and Indiana Jones rooms.
Man I want to use the Tommy argument of "you gave me too much money, and you shouldn't have given it to me in the first place!" when I'm repaying my student loans lol
I like how Tommy's whole argument boils down to "Well you should have known I'm an irresponsible idiot who was going to waste this money. You just should have known better, and I don't have to pay it back..." I feel like he has a team of 8 year olds making this defense for him.
I've had clients in the office furniture industry just give their furniture away as long as the company picking it up didn't charge them anything for the removal. There's a lot of cost there, especially if the building requires a union crew, if it has to be done after-hours (over time labor rates), etc.
His furniture is extremely expensive and barely used, I doubt they'll let it just go, like WeWork did. Hell, even Twitter is auctioning their non-SF office furniture off. Good deals on commerical kitchen stuff and nick-nacks, but they want people who will take all the tables or chairs in one listing.
@@JosephSantoro What’s ironic is that he didn’t need all of that expensive crap. He could have just as well gotten cheap stuff that appeared to be luxurious. There’s a market for that kinda thing too.
@@JosephSantoro It was expensive because it was custom colors and matching sets and brand new. People seem to think furniture that was used for nearly two years should sell for more than $5000. 1) We don't know if the furniture company got back all the furniture. I could see that group of grifters taking some home (it was decent furniture) and the furniture company isn't going to track down individuals. 2) From all the videos, it was a "party" office. The stuff was probably covered in pizza grease and banged up. Since those guys weren't doing much in the way of writing software or fixing hardware bugs, they lots of time for races using those chairs and roller cabinets. 3) There's an absolute glut of office furniture on the market right now, particularly in California. My own workplace downsized the office space by 2/3 because most people could work just fine from home. They didn't try to sell their nice furniture (nicer than what Tommy had) and were offering employees to just take chairs and electric adjustable-height desks for free (no obligation to return it) so they wouldn't have to try to liquidate it.
I love watching former intellivision supporters fall off the band wagon and say things like "yeah I was wrong about the Amico and I should have seen the red flags, but pat and Ian were too mean so it's their fault that I didn't listen"

No consoles have chip or logistical shortages these day. How does the Amico console which hardware is utilizing vastly outdated components akin to primitive Android mobile devices suffer from logistical issue due to COVID or chip shortages is beyond anyone's guess. 😂
just sitting here, having some fun wondering how many times Tommy maybe tried to do copyright claims on Pat and Ian’s videos only to wind up biting his knuckle and cursing
It’s crazy to me that if Tommy had left well enough alone, he would have likely been fondly remembered as that dude who did some really cool shit during the 16 bit era. Talk about butt fucking your own legacy!
The hbomber guy pretty much debunked that. He was taking credit for other’s work. This wasn’t even about the Amico, just a rabbit hole he went down on following the “oof” fiasco from Roblox 😂
wow how the mighty have fallen , i met him at a fan expo like 20 yrs ago in Toronto i use to love his shows back then ON TV hahah , as a gamer his shows were the go to for game related news
It's just incredibly sad that the Intellivision name got sullied like this by these individuals. Atari, Intellivision and later Colecovision were really big parts of my childhood. It's just a shame that the Intellivision brand got into the hands of people who didn't respect what it represents to many people who grew up during that era and retro fans. I just hope that someone who really respects Intellivision's history and importance gets to buy the rights to this iconic console brand.
Their business model and pricing does not even make one bit of sense. The Amico is a console marketed towards family friendly only audience with budget in mind. Why would any family or anyone especially those on a budget would want to purchase a retro console for their kids costing hundreds of dollar when they could easily just bought a cheap Android phone or tablet costing barely a fraction of the Amico, which have way better performing hardware with a already huge library of retro games and other stuff to boot.
What drives me nuts is that if you want a modern retro gaming system, the evercade exists. You can buy it now at Walmart or Amazon, you don't need Tommy
And more damningly, he has a lawyer who he's clearly gotten in contact with to make up these excuses, of which if I were presiding I'd ask, "So you were paying them to come up with this lame duck, instead of simply doing your duty?", and immediately burn his defence.
Tommy (in court): Your Honor. In order to demonstrate the gross negligence of the plaintiff's collection attempts, I present to you Exhibit A!!!! (Points to his knees) Judge (confused): Defendant. What are you pointing at? Tommy: My knees, your honor. My perfectly intact and fully operational knees! Complete evidence of no effort, no effort to collect!!!
such a lack of maturity . He constantly blames / lies and deceives . Un real . Who is this dude. like seriously . i never heard of him before 2 years ago.
Tommy was an accomplished, well respected dude at one point. Was all this worth it? Was ruining his reputation, credibility, and professional relationships worth the minor amount of positive attention he got from a handful of middle-aged youtubers over a system nobody wanted from the start? Fell from grace like a fucking meteor.
the little mermaid comment he made to that you tuber and the 'Lap dance' realy kinda says more than people realize what hes about. Its very disturbing in all honesty . stuff comes out of his mouth that Outs him in ways .
I don't think there was a fall from grace, more that people found the skeletons. Sorta like what happened to Hulk Hogan; always a loudmouthed heel scumbag.
@@HappyMealBieber he also brought up custards revenge to an underage kid. Sure that teenager has probably seen worse but as an adult let alone as a ceo you don't bring up porn to a minor ever especially in a public interview
Tommy truly is, one of the biggest jokes of a human being ever, I'm sure his mother is very proud. He needs to lose everything so I can also watch him fail to get it back within 2 years. 🤣🤣🤣
Man, I remember when Tommy Tallarico seemed cool. You would think he would want to maintain that popularity rather than squander it on stuff like this ...
When I first saw Super Mario Odyssey with all its swearing, violence and prostitution I just knew I’d rather pay 300 dollars for an Amico and enjoy great games like Shark Shark and err…. Err…..lots of other mobile phone games. Every night, inspired by Tommy, I’d planned to lovingly caress my Amico physical game boxes with a code it in it safe in the knowledge of my sound gaming acumen and that the wisdom of Tommy can do no wrong…………..OH SHIIIIIIT!
In a BK, the people owed the most are not the first paid. That may often be the way it goes, but not based on the amount. Secured creditors would be fist, and in many cases local taxes.
I somehow managed to miss out on the whole Intellivision Amico saga while it was going on, and didn't hear about it until the Slope's Game Room 4-hour docu-epic covering the whole thing. Imagine my surprise when I saw that Tommy Tallarico, a dude I watched on TV for many years, was not only involved in it but also had himself a years-long meltdown at the slightest criticism of his non-existent console. Tommy, all you had to do is release a retro console. That's it. This didn't need to go this far.
HERE WE GO! I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! Now I can sit back, crack open a Pepsi, and munch on some Orville Redenbacher's popcorn and watch the entertainment of the lawsuits!
You say that as a sarcastic take, but the crazy thing is, he's probably thinking that at face value due to the brain poisoning he got from _The Secret._
On the "chip shortage" claim is wild to look at, if you just look at how AtGames is handling stuff with its Legends line of products Literally just point to AtGames to counter the nonsense claim of "chip shortage"
Or Playdate, who literally had to choose a plan B because of the chip shortage. But that's the thing, they had a plan and executed on it. I'm not sure if Amico had a plan A.
I would like to hear from one of their former engineers if they, with a supposed BOM of parts ready to go, didn't look for substitutes if some parts can't be obtained. Knowing Tommy's belief in 'The Secret' there probably wasn't a plan B.
Obviously havent seen the contract... but some courts have ruled that Covid is covered under Force Majeure and can be considered when determining ability to deliver.
I’m glad I didn’t pre-order this mess. I only thought the Amico was worth it, because it looked like something my little nephews could play without having to worry about any games with lots of micro transactions or overly complex games. But now…. 😅 That would’ve been a complete loss.
Lol, I feel like Ian would live a lot longer if he didn't feel like he had to talk so forcefully in order to avoid getting derailed by Pat, LOL ... jk - love you guys
Now we need Tommy to tell all of his backers that they were stupid for giving him money and I think we're good. Or do they need to sue him first before he admits to that too?
Reminds me of ebays return policy where the buyer can lie their ass off and ebay will side in their favor even without any proof ebay will force a return even when the buyers are full of shit!

Intellivision: "Welllllll....... not necessaaaarily...."
I'm reminded of David Pasquesi's line as Andrew in Veep, "Again, I thought it was understood that I was lying."
Still pissed I wasted 100 of my hard earned money on this thank you pat and Ian for being the only people talking about this
IDK everything about this story, sounds like it’s been years & years in the making, but the way people went after you two I’m glad you’re making em eat crow! You guys rock 👍
Great segment! Love how you guys tell it like it is - common sense and raw, lol. Love the passion! Looking forward to what you guys do in the future; however you do it!
This felt like the start of the much-anticipated victory lap.
Remember when those people said “But Tommy has a Ferrari” 😂lol Tellirico out here scamming people
I bet it was a rental and acted like he owned it. 😂😂
Mr. Tallarico never fails to make my brain numb - he lives in a fantasy world
When I read the title I thought it was redundant to describe Tommy as insane, but based on those legal arguments it was warranted.
I love how worked up Ian got over this.
The most animated and passionate I may have ever seen him.
LMFAOO
Watch his old rant on the RetroEngine Sigma. That's also a good one.
Tommy’s gonna be fine, even if he loses his house and car, he’s always got PFerreira’s couch to sleep on.
@@Hammerhead547 he never had one, it was a kit
As someone who works as a merchant, his blaming of COVID is no longer relevant and really hasn't been since 2021.
Tommy's lawyer reminds me of Jackie Chiles from Seinfeld lol
Send in the bailiffs to take back the goods from Tommy T
This is why he prob auctioned his video game stuff so it has no way of being taken if they win the lawsuit?
Prison incoming.
😂Ian, you have an hysterial way of visualizing what the real story is. Thank you.
wow how the mighty have fallen , i met him at a fan expo like 20 yrs ago in Toronto i use to love his shows back then ON TV hahah , as a gamer his shows were the go to for game related news
Tommy Talarico: The gift that keeps on giving...
Glad I got out and refunded before all this crap. Lesson learned. Never pre-order vaporware.
So, all that is left of the Amico is a post office box somewhere in CA. Seems like a fitting ending to this saga.
"Read it if you want to go insane!" is the funniest thing to me for some reason XD
What drives me nuts is that if you want a modern retro gaming system, the evercade exists.
You can buy it now at Walmart or Amazon, you don't need Tommy
Odd that Tommy wouldn’t simply pay off the loan, since he’s out here living the fat life and all.
And more damningly, he has a lawyer who he's clearly gotten in contact with to make up these excuses, of which if I were presiding I'd ask, "So you were paying them to come up with this lame duck, instead of simply doing your duty?", and immediately burn his defence.
His mom would be very proud
Tommy tallerico sounds like fictional mobster in the sopranos.
Tommy (in court): Your Honor. In order to demonstrate the gross negligence of the plaintiff's collection attempts, I present to you Exhibit A!!!! (Points to his knees)
Judge (confused): Defendant.
He’s right at least, it was a dumb move to give him money. We tried to warn everyone. Lol
Shit just keeps getting more wild. Time to pay the piper, Tommy boy!
Untreated mental illness is a sad thing.
the little mermaid comment he made to that you tuber and the 'Lap dance' realy kinda says more than people realize what hes about.
Sure that teenager has probably seen worse but as an adult let alone as a ceo you don't bring up porn to a minor ever especially in a public interview
lmao, I wish you could see this to the end, because this is such a fun turn into something I thought was dead years ago
Tommy truly is, one of the biggest jokes of a human being ever, I'm sure his mother is very proud.
He needs to lose everything so I can also watch him fail to get it back within 2 years. 🤣🤣🤣
What did you guys talk about later?
Shark Shark, Tank Tank, S,cam Sc,am
I'm sorry, but I love it when when these two fly off the hook and roast this boob! I swear, Tommy has something broken upstairs
Just what every lawyer wants their clients to do, lol 😂
Pat keeps trying to add points, Ian won't shut up. Haha! Love Ian!
Oh tommy
In a BK, the people owed the most are not the first paid. That may often be the way it goes, but not based on the amount. Secured creditors would be fist, and in many cases local taxes.
The “We’re not gonna be around forever” gave me chills!
The company is not even operating legally in CA. the company closed on paper over a year ago. Only Europe office is up.
4 years long. The Amico saga is a high school education long.
HERE WE GO! I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! Now I can sit back, crack open a Pepsi, and munch on some Orville Redenbacher's popcorn and watch the entertainment of the lawsuits!
crack this open you pansy
I live near Costa Mesa, CA.... maybe I can swing by Intellivision and make them an offer on some premium office furniture vs IKEA junk lol
You guys are great!
No sweat, Tommy's assured me the dismissal is on the launch pad, ready to go.
You say that as a sarcastic take, but the crazy thing is, he's probably thinking that at face value due to the brain poisoning he got from _The Secret._
Damn Pat and was too notch here!
On the "chip shortage" claim is wild to look at, if you just look at how AtGames is handling stuff with its Legends line of products
Literally just point to AtGames to counter the nonsense claim of "chip shortage"
Or Playdate, who literally had to choose a plan B because of the chip shortage.
But that's the thing, they had a plan and executed on it. I'm not sure if Amico had a plan A.
china has literally been pumping out android tv boxes the whole time.
I would like to hear from one of their former engineers if they, with a supposed BOM of parts ready to go, didn't look for substitutes if some parts can't be obtained. Knowing Tommy's belief in 'The Secret' there probably wasn't a plan B.
Tommy insists he inverted contract law to troll the bailiffs.
Obviously havent seen the contract... but some courts have ruled that Covid is covered under Force Majeure and can be considered when determining ability to deliver.
Depending on when the contract was signed, that may not matter. (I'm hoping for a 2019 reveal.)
Pretty sure this is literally the joke in the final episode of Peep Show, when Jez geta Mark fired from the bank :)
I’m glad I didn’t pre-order this mess. I only thought the Amico was worth it, because it looked like something my little nephews could play without having to worry about any games with lots of micro transactions or overly complex games. But now…. 😅 That would’ve been a complete loss.
The day when there is no more amico drama will be a sad sad day, but that day is not today!!!
@ian
Demons Tilt is great! How can I get that hoodie?!
The Amico will go down as the only console in history to go down in flames thanks to couches, cabinets and fake plants
You guys should make a shirt on this collapse! Something clever…I’d buy it
I wonder how finely will my bank shred my ass if i send them stuff like that instead of paying back the loan...
This thing is going to be a 48 hour UA-cam essay when all is said and done. 😅
Is this the real marketing?
If so, it's a bold strategy.
I really miss your games documentary/ history video. So when you make the Intellivision? The original consoles and Amico?
Reminds me of ebays return policy where the buyer can lie their ass off and ebay will side in their favor even without any proof ebay will force a return even when the buyers are full of shit!
Dannm dude i didnt know it was that brutal to the seller, i mean i had to return some items but i always reach the seller first and it always go smooth. Only times where for buying used screens that came defective and listed as good but, only times i had problems is when buying from china tho
Yep.
@@sirmi9868 I had that problem of buying PS1 games and 70% of the time the game is very scratched up and have double of the game but I do get my money back but stay with the crappy disk version which they market good or never mention any scratches.
