I feel that after Espresso, you kinda need songs like Rewind and Cactus to calm you down. And right after that you have the units songs and Candy to close everything. For me the placement was perfect.
i love hello so much honestly i love that not many people like it. it makes me appreciate it more. also ngl when i first listened to it i didnt like it too but a few repeats on and i started to get it😭
Hello is better when you don’t take it too seriously 😭 and remember that the girls themselves don’t really like it all that much

After you listen to hello a couple of times you just start getting into it
Whenever I listen to Candy its either I feel like I'm sleeping on the clouds or walking down the streets of Paris while window shopping. Its like listening to LOONA Yves - D-1
Push & Pull has a HOLD on me! Main rapper AND main vocalist Jihyo?? Might be time to make her my official bias.
I don't mind scientist and the performances have sold me more on the song but do think Expresso, moonlight or F.I.L.A. could have been better group titles for it.

this album is so good lord even though some of the tracks weren't usually the genre or the sound i usually listen to they were still good!! like not one was unlistenable like overall this album was really good!!!

Cactus is a masterpiece given to us our queen Jihyo, written, composed and directed by her. I love this Album, Hello is a bop. It's a NO SKIP ALBUM!
As an album this is their pinnacle I feel and while I understand people will be like " but umm the TITLE TRACK doesn't hit as much so idk "
Still the sheer brilliance of most of the Bsides in the album carried SCIENTIST tbh
Loved every single Bside Track even HELLO ( Kinda biased cause it's my bias Chaeyoung subunit but I digress)
Also I whole heartedly agree with most of your statements except CACTUS
CACTUS shows an sad heartbreak story which also is vital for people learning about LOVE(I.e FORMULA OF LOVE) so it makes sense why it is in the album
Also loved how they made a ROCK BALLAD shows the diversity of genres TWICE can tackle in the future
A full epic ROCK SONG from TWICE in future?

Tho I will say critics loved the TT so I am inclined to say as KPOP fans we kinda are used to groups really making bombastic choruses with heavy instrumentals
That's why the general consensus of Kpop Stan world is that this TT is kinda weak for TWICE

I agree but Icon is #1 for me, and push & pull would be at 8
I don't know if Catus is on a 'country' part, I mean the song is about Jihyo's actually dead cactus but I feel like is something more close to something more 'heavier' or at least more away from country, there are so many branches on rock and metal and I consider Cactus one of a special kind, nothing out of this world but interesting and good, check "Kill Rock n' Roll" from System of a Down is literally the same silly or simple reason as Cactus bc one of them killed a neighbor's bunny and they made the song bc they felt gulty and it's one of the best songs of that album even tho it's from 2005 and SOAD is pretty old sadly too. My point was, rock can be good for expressing sadness or sorrow, you should give Cactus another chance, it's very different from the funkyness of the album but it can at least lead your head to a very familiar rock melody little dance, not all the songs in the world can be danced or can be happy, Twice with Cactus proves it with that song. I mean if you want to go very deep on the branches you can find something weird like 'Post Depresive Black Metal' and it's entirely melodic most of the time if you can stand the rest of the deadass noise lmao
For 'Hello' this time I must accept it isn't the best one so far, I've already listened many times but I still feel some cringe but I'm kinda getting it now, I like it but can't listen to it that frecuently
As well for the rest of the sub-unit songs they are so good, the álbum is so good I love all the funky, 70's and 80's they bring back and made something so solid and so well done, I liked ur reactions and opinions, very clever and funny keep the good reactions 👍🏾

The funny thing here is that Hello is the highest charting b-side of the album 😭😭😭
I feel like hello you have to listen to it a lot more to get into it.
Twice b-sides don't disappoint, but Cruel and Push and Pull just hit (me) different. This whole album is great though.
I disagree so much about cactus, I loved the change of genre and sound, it made the album more fun to listen to because tbh cruel, real you and FILA kinda blended together and started to bore me due to the same funky bass being used.
I don't think every album has to stick to one genre or sound especially with twice because imho that's not their strong suit, their versatility is what I love about them. On first listen Icon, espresso, cactus and hello were my favourites but maybe because that's they stood out the most? Maybe my thoughts would be different if the album was shorter or arranged differently idk I'm just rambling now lmao
cactus is a funny because jihyo killed her cactus so she wrote a song about it LMAOO
