CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Chris (Timothy Hutton) offers Daulton (Sean Penn) a partnership in espionage.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
John Schlesinger directed this fact-based drama - adapted from Robert Lindsay's bestseller of the same title -- about two Californians, friends since boyhood, who are caught selling government secrets to the Soviet Union. Christopher Boyce (Timothy Hutton) is an all-American boy, studying for the priesthood in a seminary. But Boyce decides to drop out of school, and with the help of his father (Pat Hingle), a FBI agent, he gets a job working for the CIA in a message-routing center. While reading the messages, Boyce is shocked to learn that the CIA is involved in fixing Australian elections. Watching the Watergate hearings on television, he feels an ever-mounting sense of outrage at the arrogance of the U.S. government and decides to do something about it. Deciding to supply the CIA messages to the Russians, he enlists his childhood friend Daulton Lee (Sean Penn) to help him. Lee is to deliver the CIA secrets to a Russian operative (David Suchet) at the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City. But Lee is an unreliable drug dealer, and his sloppy spy trail leads the two old friends into more trouble than they bargained for.

Forgotten masterpiece. The most underrated film of all time.
For sure, there's nothing more gangster than in the beginning when Sean Penn makes a deal wearing a fedora and oversized jacket at a Mexican Pulque bar. They don't make movies 🎥 like they used to...
This film is severely underrated as an espionage thriller.
Almost forgotten classic about a forgotten time. When this was released both Boyce and Lee were locked away at Lompoc penitentiary. One of the worst prisons in the country know for inmate violence, and it was assumed neither would ever get out.
Penn was really terrific in this underratted film. Very entertaining too
This is the film that John R. MacDougall (AKA "Captain Midnight") interrupted an HBO broadcast of in order to protest the network's high subscription fees for satellite dish owners.
The Falcon and the Snowman (1985) Was one of the greatest Spy thrillers of all time. A Story based on True facts. When this film Came out America Was still in the Last remaining Years of the Cold War with; as Reagan Put it, the Evil Empire. Dave Minnesota
Fantastic film! - This was far and away Oscar material, but Hollywood was too stupid and misguided (still is) to realize it- Hutton was excellent and so was Pat Hingle as his father
This scene is obviously filmed in México; those beautiful flowers are Jacarandas. I suppose that house is in Cuernavaca.
Yeah....jacarandas grow in lots of places.
I've got Jacarandas as do all my neighbors. We live in S. CA
I worked for the same company, TRW, though I was an employee, instead of a contractor.
There's nothing more gangster than in the beginning when Sean Penn makes a deal wearing a fedora and oversized jacket at a Mexican Pulque bar. They don't make movies 🎥 like they used to...
Ratso Rizzo as a rich California kid.
Lol
Hutton and Penn are great in this, but it feels like a made for TV movie. I'm surprised that it wasn't more critically acclaimed
The Winter Soldier has nothing on the Snowman
yeah, this storyline of course based on some facts is unbelievable. Penn and Hutton did a bang-up job along with a strong supporting cast. This movie requires actual use of your brain so it wouldn't be popular now except for with the Snowden fanboys.
Charge of the Light Brigade
Did it ever occur to you you're seeing exactly what you're seeing?
I've been around enough nukes fly
Saw this for the first time last year and been trying to find it lol
Cool film.💯🤖💕
Como se llama una película donde varios amigos quieren entrar a una empresa de informática pero los están espiando y matando hasta que uno de ellos entra a la empresa y los investiga de sus asesinatos

What is that WIG Penn is wearing?
I’ll bet you one million doll hairs it’s his real hair Debi
In his first shot he looks Chinese lol
His mums wig
Motorcycle 🏍️ Insurance
This movie is AWESOME but it could have used a couple scenes of Timothy Hutton taking a shower or in a hot tub 😍 He is a Stone Fox it’s refreshing to see an actor with chiseled “tap water” bone structure and a tall lanky body not all jacked out /fit/Fg 🔥
Guys usta look hot and masculine like this. They don’t look like this any more. 😢
CRYPTO LOCK.....abcdefg........Special Yellow Projects......Special Orange Communication Systems
Uncanny how much Timothy Hutton looks like Paul Walker in this film.
