Lucy, after you cleaned up the SPA, what will you do to the valve which you just had turned it on ? Do you need to turn it back to the original place ? Or any suggestions? Thank you.
You do not have to shut off the motor, just be sure the valve is functioning properly so when you turn it the ‘inlet’ is never closed. For instance, if that little tab underneath the handle is broken the valve will turn without stopping and you could inadvertently close the inlet for a second and if the pump is running you’d be closing the water flowing to the pump. I know this is more info than you asked for and if you’re sure there’s no chance of the valve closing the inlet then you can turn the valve when the pump is running. I have other videos explaining Jandy valves. If you can’t find them let me know.
Gladena Cole You must be opening the return and closing the suction. Turn them opposite of what you’re doing. If you can, take a picture and email to lucyspools@gmail.com.

Yes you need to turn it back to the original position or the water will drain out.
Lucy, when turning the valves do I have to turn off the motor or is that optional?
