    We hope this helps! Remember to add a line flush before draining to clear out all the gunk in the pipes 👍 And get the free hot tub cheat sheet at www.swimuniversity.com/spasheet

    To drain, you can also take a garden hose or several hoses and turn them around where the male end is in the tub and the female end is out to the yard or drain area then turn on the jets and stick the male hose end over the jets (it'll make a syphon) then push the male ended hose in the bottom of your tube. I do three or four hoses, it'll drain in about 40mn

    I'm a disabled veteran with fibromyalgia and arthritis. Hot tub is the best thing I've done for myself. Thanks for showing how to maintain myself. One service visit from the company I purchased the hot tub from is $295. No, thanks. I'll do it myself!

    What about the foam after the line flush. Do you get that out or just start pumping the water out.

    I am soon going to be doing a water chsnge. After draining there will still be residual water in the lines which presumably will contain some amounts of the cleaning solution used to flush the lines. Is that a concern?

    hey! Even thou its obvious for a hot tub owners to take a shower before use, somehow, for the rest of people its not. I constantly having issues with biofilm, low sanitizers etc. I do ask my guest to take the shower but as soon as Im not on watch, nobody respects that. What is best to do? Keeping high chlorine level, shocking water everyday, change water once a week or maybe there is some chemicals that may help?

    Im sorry but Im not sure I understood correctly, do I add chemicals immediately after refilling even thou the water is cold or I wait to heat the water up before adding sanitizers?

  • @scmomentum
    @scmomentum 5 місяців тому

    Don't forget to use Metal Gone before putting checking the water and putting chemicals in. Key is to balance the PH before putting chlorine and other chemicals in. Keep in mind that your PH reading might not be accurate until after the Metal Gone has had time to do its thing. I typically let that sit overnight, heat up, and test the water before adding other chemicals the next morning.

    Line flush twice still have white flem looking stuff floating around in the water, I turn the heat up to 104 and dumped a bunch of chlorine in to see if that will work, I hope that works any advice

    I refilled mine but forgot to use the chemical flush, first. So, I need to drain it again. OUCH! But even in Florida, where water is expensive, 200G of water is only $5.

    Where do you buy the attachement at the end of garden hose that goes into the tub?

    • @SwimUniversity
      @SwimUniversity  2 місяці тому +2

      It's a hose filter. You can find them on Amazon or any of the hardware stores.

      @@laundromatjones4337Salt water hot tubs is also so much easier to maintain, never have to balance anything other than the PH and make sure alkalinity is not to high, The spa salt chlorine generator takes care of the right amount of disinfectant. Change or clean of filter depends on how much use.

    You don't need to do a purge every 3-4 months, more like every 6-12 months.
