Winchoke means the barrel allows for screw in choke tubes that are compatible. Winchoke isn't a mechanism related to the action of the pump shotgun. If you have a Winchester 1200, 1300, or 120 Ranger they all function the same in regard to the action.
"Winchoke" was invented by Winchester in the early 1960's . They were removable/replaceable threaded choke tubes that screwed into the end of the barrel allowing the use to alter the shot spread for various applications. Prior to this shotguns generally had fixed chokes having only one constriction for one general purpose. This required multiple shotguns to fill various purposes
I have a 1300 I bought in 1996? It was my first gun I bought for shooting trap and skeet. It's still my favorite, runs great. Thanks for showing the loading tip. Peace out.😊
The Win choke system has nothing to do with how the shotgun cycles. I allows you to go from improved cylinder to x full for different game. However I agree this is an awesome underrated shotgun. I have owned one for 38 years and it worked every time I pulled the trigger it went bang. I also have a 870 Remington and a RAI Shotgun and by far the Winchester remains my favorite.
I just recently got a 1300 as an heirloom but is in immaculate condition. Just happens to be a bit old. Getting some information on it is fun so thanks for making this video. There’s definitely some good info I didn’t know especially the unloading trick.
Yeah man, i suggest you find some extra firing pins to store for it just in case, they're strong as heck but it will be difficult to find i think in 10 to 20 years! Dry firing it a lot can lead to a broken firing pin, just had mine replaced. But i have been dry firing abusing it and shooting it for like over a decade. I think everyone that's sold their 1300 has regretted it so definitely a keeper! thank you!
I really appreciate this video but I have a question it seems like your shells are able to be loaded very easily. I feel like my gun. You have to push really hard to get them to go in maybe yours is just more broken than mine.

Thanks for your post. I have a Winchester 1200 in 12 ga. It looks to be almost identical to the 1300.

Moriens! Glad to hear it thank you!
I have the Winchester 1300 defender .12 gauge, is this shotgun a good one?

I agree it's my favorite and I own a few
I have the 1300 speed pump defender love it more than my Remington 870 holds 7 plus 1 and fun to shoot
Yeah dude, i totally understand. Something about the 870 doesn't feel right after handling a speed pump defender for while...
Excellent video, I appreciate the tricks 👍 Subbed!
slide rails are burnt.
