Great video Yasas. For road bikes, Claris is incredible value for money because of its impressive shifting performance and quality, and is the only groupset 99% of the people would need. I see so many people get misguided to go for bikes with the most expensive groupsets which makes no sense at all (This is specially done by dealers).
Thanks for a good video. Please do give us a comparison and evaluation of the local brands. Most of us are just normal riders and dont need a bike that cost a couple of lakhs !!! Example - DSI, Tomahauk, Kenstar, Lumala etc.
@Spinner Cycling, Great video, thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge. I live in Kandy and looking for a bicycle, for short commuting purposes, and ride it for my fitness. I will not go fully off-road but will definitely go through some rough roads. I’m thinking of buying a bicycle with KENDA 700*23c tires. Will this serve my purpose? Or do I have to go for a hybrid bicycle? If you need more information to answer my questions, please let me know.
hi, thanks for the great video, I'm looking to buy a bicycle for my daily travels to work, found this DSI 20 Inches single speed bicycle... is this a good choice? 🤔 I have to ride about 16km every day!
Hi Yasas, Great video 🤜🏼 I'm a beginner. Right now I'm in 25km range and planning to ride 50km+ Can you suggest me a basic road bike brand (cheapest) ?
Great video as always Yasas. In my opinion the lack of affordable local bikes is the biggest hurdle that keeps people away from bikes. As you've mentioned there are affordable mountain bikes from local bands but they are all trying to look the most freakish as possible, with oversized steel tubes and weird geometries, obsessing over having a giant fork for the rear suspension and weird stickers etc. In your opinion what's stopping Lumala or DSI from creating a functional no-nonsense hard-tale mountain bike or a "Surly-esque" steel road bike with mid-range components? Is it a chicken and egg situation or something else?
