Great idea. I cut and bend rebar for a living and also work in the wood milling side from time to time. I usually just bend a piece of scrap rebar into a plate hanger but I'm definitely going to make a few of these on Monday. Now if I can only find ammo🤔
we are for sure building this at my range, we have been just granted permission to practise ipsc there and we dont have much material other than silhouettes. Thank you so much!!
Pro tip, if you're the type to leave these out in the rain at all, or you just want them to last stupid long, save your used motor oil and lather them in it. My grandpa used to have me do it for yard tool handles. I think some of his shovel handles are 3 times as old as me.
You could put a piece of sacrificial 1/4” wood or thin metal on top to deal with the spalling. Just a dab of wood glue to hold it but so little it can be smacked off. Or duct tape.
"Keep downward pressure while screwing to hold alignment" ...those my friends, are words to live by.

The range stand are tore up and will not hold a stand steady in wind
