This is a very sweet song. No smut or innuendo, just saying how he has loved her, and she doesn't even know he exists. I had that same experience with one of the girls on my block. She was a couple of years older than I was. I finally got the nerve to say hello. Nothing romantic ever became of it, but she turned out to be a wonderful life long friend.

From the Stones to RUSH to Jethro Tull to Frankie Valli to Harry Chaplin to The Carpenters to Stevie Ray to Jimi Hendrix etc etc etc etc. It didn’t matter if it was sappy, hard rock, metal, sad, happy, sentimental, funny, jazzy, bluesy ...it was everything and we had it all! Glad you get to experience our youth!

It’s Harry Chapin, not Chaplin, but I bet autocorrect did that. And, yes, all the music from the 50’s through the 80’s was amazing. But I particularly love the classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s.

But me and my two friends could sing and loved the oldies and accopella songs.
      And you know what .....
Even the Roughest, toughest Girls we hung out with ....
When we would sing those old love songs.

There was a time when people respected others and did the right thing because they were raised that way--respect for your parents, your teachers, your public servants, your sweetie and most of all, yourself. Doing the right thing wasn't seen as a weakness; it was a sign of strength and maturity. These songs reflect those days.

Aside from the great performance of Frankie himself, the production value of this song is amazing!
I mean you can hear a harp, full orchestra, the guitar, keyboard and drum work is perfectly mixed 👌 just fantastic.
Always loved this tune but thanks for reminding just how excellent it is...

For my mom's 79th birthday, I bought tickets to see Frankie Valli & the (new) Four Seasons. A big bonus was that one of brother's best friends & next door neighbor was one of the Four Seasons. Obviously, she raised me right!

This is my absolute FAVORITE Frankie Valli song. My husband and I saw him in concert 4.5 years ago. He was 82!!!! And still sounded exactly the same. He did a 2 hour show with only a 5 minute break to change his shirt. He is the ultimate professional performer. 💕💕💕
