Be careful about boiling water on a picnic table and sitting right in front of it. Many hikers have accidentally spilled boiling water on their body. Enjoy your hike and don’t be afraid to ask people to film them. Many people don’t mind being on camera. But it’s always good to be courteous and ask first. Happy trails.
Enjoyable style and story telling. Doing low mileage for 15-20 days decreases opportunities for over use injuries. Daily stretching is a must. Keep it up. Favor follows you!
I remember being 3-4 days in and camping with a guy who started that day! We all have our own pace, and the slower hikers get to live the dream for longer. The last one to Katahdin wins!
Awesome Video.. I've been following Tribute on Trail for a few weeks and your channel has finally popped up too.. Have a great hike and stay safe,. Thanks for bringing us along for the trip. I'm hoping to attempt the AT next year. So thanks for the videos..
Absolutely love your chemistry with each other, and enjoying the simplicity of your v-logging style. Your early daily mileage is a fantastic way to build success. I did the same thing four years ago….averaged 8-13ish miles per day until Fontana….then the mileage started increasing a bit from there. Your body will tell you when it’s ready for bigger days. Proud of you both…you have prepared well and have the right mindset for this amazing journey. Kamper AT 2020
@@kampersadventures958 😬 My dh is a day hiker. He doesn’t „get“ endurance hiking, and gets vertigo badly- no jump-off for him! Anyway, since I got off at Harper’s, I feel like I have unfinished business
I watch 100s of AT videos, yours is one of the best. Great content. Not a lot of useless footage like others. Your editing is second to none. Perfect. My one question, any mice in the shelters so far? Hope to hike the AT one day.
New subscriber..now to go back and watch your earlier videos…im always interested in watching couples hike together…adds a different aspect to a hike…rooting for you!
👍 yes take it easy at first! Mileage will come later after your bodies adjust, strengthen. Listen to your pain it’s telling you something. Enjoy that wonderfilled trail. 😊
Looks like you guys have done your homework. Avoid the bubble at all costs. I have the backpackers Cache canister but i saw someone use the edge of a credit card to open the Bear Vault. I often hear hikers wish that they had taken more photos of their fellow hikers. Nicely done video, btw.
I got the hang of the bear cannister in the end haha and thank you! I heard that same advice about photos of your fellow hikers but I'm too shy at this point to ask if I can stick a camera in anyone's face
Being on trail for your heavy flow days just sucks. Take it easy and don't let any boys talk shit. They would all be dead if it happened to them every month. I'm old, so I always just did the tampons and little plastic bags system. Way to rock girl!
Don't take the next 21?? miles too seriously.j It's just a lot of walking. Walking with bad weather, boring food, bugs, stress fractures, hostels every 7 miles, and unbathed hikers with ear buds in your way. Loved matching my pix from DEC '23 to your pix from last week. funny how we all photograph the same sh!t
Yeah it's a little known fact that he's an avid hiker amongst all his other talents. And yes, we have completely separate sets of gear, so the bear can was my personal decision
Nothing to this, you just put one foot in front of the other for 2,200 miles. What could possibly go wrong? Seriously start slow and take care of your feet and knees. Use your trekking poles. I wish you well and above all thing’s embrace this beautiful time in your life.

Solid advice!
very good comment here
I love Orange Kitty! I look for him every time I’m there, just saw him on Saturday!
Forever in my heart (and on my bear cannister as a sticker) ❤️
lol at the Wii music while opening a bear canister! Loved that
I have a feeling this channel will become a favorite❤️

Thank you so much! It's hard watching other people blaze past but I know this is what works for my body right now

When a cat naps on you like that, it means you are the chosen one(s).
Wednesday, March 06th: Nice start. Great attitude. Meeting fellow hikers is what the AT is about. Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08
That kitty cameo was amazing! I like your vibe and can’t wait to see your adventure!
Nice work! Orange Kitty looked like he was loving the cuddles ❤

Hike on!
Love the views, the candid conversation!!! I think you two are are doing great!
Enjoy the trail and stay safe!
Great video! Cheering you guys on. Slow and steady it's going to be a great and crazy journey. Be blessed and have fun! 😊

Kamper AT 2020
Hey Kamper! You here too? 😂
@@susankaempfer8427 Hi Susan! I wish I was on trail lol
@@kampersadventures958 If I lived closer, I would definitely be a chronic lasher. I’m going back for more punishment in 2025 though.
@@susankaempfer8427I might do another NOBO in my 60’s. Just have to convince the wife lol

Thank you so much! Apparently there were mice in the second shelter we stayed at but I slept through it and didn't notice them haha
Great! Thanks. Love watching.
I agree! Awesome content!
Wow, I really like this, content presentation, thanks to you both.
Thank you! It's my solo channel so I'll take the credit for it lol
The good news is that Albert mountain is the other way around; it’s hard getting up but going down the north side is relaxing and an absolute treat.
So glad I found your channel. Looking forward to following your adventure.
Thanks for sharing! Onward!
Great Appalachian Trail hiking experience.

Fingers crossed for some sunshine for you soon!

Enjoy Georgia! It doesn’t get cold there 🤣🤣🤣😂
A FAMUS UA-camR WILL HIKE THE TRAIL THIS YEAR 💯👍
Great to find you! Will be cheering you on!

Thankfully I was done with the menstrual cup by day 3 (until next time 🥲). Thank you!
In regards to the thinking of things too much , and jinxing yourself. I think you will find the total opposite on trail. The trail provides!
😊
Greatvideo.where did u get your soft water bottle
Some random outdoor store. I think it's just a generic running water bottle
Q? How did you like living in Wales?
Sleep on your side and out something between your legs. You will eventually find the right pressure for your sleeping mat also! Too full is not great.

Did not realize Jack Black was hiking with you. Does one of you have a bear can and the other a bear bag?
Yeah it's a little known fact that he's an avid hiker amongst all his other talents. And yes, we have completely separate sets of gear, so the bear can was my personal decision
Ditch the bear can. 2 unnecessary pounds…..they will do a free pack shakedown, there at Mountain Crossings, if you want to lighten your load.
I'm sure you have good intentions but I'm not looking for any advice, thanks! I'm good with my gear
Do they quit… or just get better shoes 😉
A little of both actually
I've also heard SOBO people leave their shoes there as well, but I'm not sure how true that is. Either way, it's a cool feature to come across!
@@hikethroughthis The quitters story is false the tree is for those who complete the trail hang their shoes.
HOPE YOU GOT A SELF DEFENCE TOOL 4 THE ANIMALS ON 2 AND 4 LEGS 👍
