  • Vietnam and the United States have upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. US President Joe Biden traveled to Vietnam for the occasion as he sought to move beyond the 'bitter past' of the Vietnam War. The focus of the visit is to expand avenues of cooperation in trade and technology, and also to boost Vietnam's capacity to fight regional and transnational crime. But there’s also the looming threat from China in the region that formed the backdrop of the visit. Vietnam has territorial disputes with China and the US is a big power rival to Beijing. President Biden clarified where the US stood on that.

Well, to be fair, for 1000 years of its history Greece WAS the largest regional empire (Byzantine). But if you look at the last 500 years or so, then you are correct.

@@cravingtuna1561 True. Still, it was called "the Greek Empire" in western Europe for a reason. Greek language and culture were dominant, even if its political origin was Roman. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that the word "Roman" actually means "Greek" in Greece to this day? In any case, most nations have periods of prosperity and expansionism, as well as subjegation and fighting for independence in their history, so there is nothing strange about that.

Moving at the right time after taking all the possible advantage/cheap labour/local eco resources from the host country is smart
The maximum profit makes companies/coporations/business owners smart
That's why global coporations run the world in a way, to drain up the host country and move to another host country, till there is no country left to drain
The reason why coporations doesn't drain all the countries at the same time, is ppl's realisation on a global scale can easily over-top them, thus ppl will know too much and spell the end of the ruling of coporations
      Just
      Divide and conquer

I dunno if you noticed but up till now the US has been only too happy to look the other way for profit, they would continue to do so if they had any other choice. Doing so this long has actually enabled this outcome. You can't pretend these guys do not want to expand their borders as they build up militarily more than Germany did before WW2.

The United States had been very helpful to China in nurturing its economy and training hundreds of thousands of Chinese students in the Science and Technology fields since 1971 at the time when China was experiencing hard time feeding its own people. And look at China now, it has become the world's second largest economy. You might ask, has China done anything to show appreciation to the American people for helping China achieving such an impressive prosperity? The answer is a big No and China is not only ungrateful, but in contrary, it poses a real threat to the US and its allies militarily. So, what lessons should the US and its allies learn from this experience? We should learn our lesson "Never help China again in every way so it can't develop its capabilities economically and militarily" to pose security threats to the world.
