  • Thank you everyone for the support during these 2 years. Training as an olympic gymnast has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. It was hard, humbling, but opened my eyes to so many different forms of fitness. You've seen my stretching like an olympic gymnast, training like Simone bile, attempting handstands time and time again in videos. Here's my journey to improving flexibility, core & glute strength, learning handstands and developing a new way to move. Enjoy

As a gymnast I'm really impressed by your progress and your dedication to this challenge! A lot of people would not have stuck with it for as long as you did, especially with all of the lockdowns and other roadblocks that were completely out of your hands, I hope you're as proud of yourself as I am of you!

I think it's easy to "underestimate" artistic gymnastic, but it's impossible to not find greatness in your ability to stick to your challenge through thick and thin! And you couldn't share a much needed life lesson for both newbies in the fitness world and veterans that feels like trying something new or like they had hit a plateau 🤍

I’m a tumbling coach in my hometown! So Tumbling and gymnastics is really hard to learn it once you have a grown-up body so the fact that you were even able to learn what you have in such a short amount of time is absolutely amazing!! We also train all our male athletes that rolls and bridges handstands splits are so important for anyone who like to do sports!
(This is coming from a girl who learned to tumble at age 16… and learned is three months to do standing back handsprings and running backhand-springs… most mentally and physically hard thing I’ve ever done!)

i have been feeling so lost in my fitness journey the last few months - im still fairly new in the world of fitness, starting in 2021. This gave me the motivation to continue my own fitness journey (I am not an athlete at all!!) I think this is probably my favorite video so far - and I've watched SO MANY already! Sometimes watching your other challenges, and knowing your background as a college athlete, it seems like results come easily. Sure, we're watching weeks and countless hours of training over the span of a few minutes, but I've always been blown away by the results. With this video, though, we can all feel the determination and grit that went into this challenge. You were vulnerable and honest, and showed us that the inspiration isn't always there. You took a much needed pause, and even though the end product wasn't what you'd imagined for yourself two years ago, I'm still in awe!

3:30 I'm just starting really learning about yoga, and your terms "masculine" and "feminine" totally match the ideas of Yin and Yang in yoga, where yang is active, explosive, and engaging the "top-level" of our bodies, and yin is the slower, more internal side of movement that leans more into mobility. So it excites me to hear you use those terms intuitively! Maybe that's where you've heard that before, but I thought maybe some extra context would be fun. :)

I am so beyond proud of your, progress, determination, strength and focus Keltie. You have done an amazing job. Up to August last year I had found my joy for working out again by doing it at home and saw more progress than I had in years in both how I looked and felt and I was working on my flexibility along with you. Something about August last year hit me too and I slowly stopped doing it every day, had no motivation and that has lasted a whole year, to now where I haven't worked out, stretched or anything for over a month and I feel awful and I'm back to before where I was at the beginning of 2020. I have felt so defeated and why should I bother but this has just given the boost I needed to go back to drawing board and strat again. Thank you for sharing yours stuggles as well as your successes, it really does help so many of us.

Hi Keltie, this is the first time I've ever watched a video of yours and I thought it was random that you showed up on my recommended because this isn't really a genre of videos I typically watch. Regardless, I watched the entire video without noticing the time go by. What an inspiring journey you went through. You were so vulnerable and relatable. I noticed how you hesitantly talk about the progress you made saying "you guys might see these videos and not see the changes", but then you describe all the amazing ways in which you personally see and have felt your body change, that's everything. I'm battling so many injuries right now, a torn rotator cuff, torn bicep, partially herniated disc, knee pain. A lot of times it feels like I'll never get to the athleticism I used to have. But it takes time, hard work, and dedication and your video reminded me that what I need for myself is within my reach. Thank you. Hope you continue to make progress in your journey

Aww, Keltie, I'm so happy that you have finally gotten this video out, and am thrilled that you did chose to post it after all. You've put so much consistent work into this (which is very motivational), and it really shows the importance of the journey and how you FEEL, vs. too many exterior goals. Having the foundation, as you say, hopefully makes meeting those goals and milestones that much easier, but all of this is not nothing. Thank you so much for sharing it with us, and I'm so happy that you are feeling happier and feel that spark again. You are the positive light we all need sometimes in our lives, and I thank you for bringing that to our/my day when you can. Much love and stay happy & strong! ^_^

    Get 👏🏼 it 👏🏼 girl 👏🏼
I found your channel during the pandemic and I am SO glad I did! I was furloughed at the time, so I decided that if I was going to be at home for 3 months, I was going to make this part of my daily routine. I was an athletic kid, and as I grew up I worked out on and off. I knew wanted to be a person who worked out but I didn’t know where to start. I knew I had a foundation but I had no plan. So I went back to basics- Push ups, sit-ups, using proper form, and re-educated myself about fitness. I found you, natacha oceane, Caroline girvan, jeff nippard, coach greg; you all had great messages and loads of helpful information. But you were the first 🥰 I can say after a full year of making this promise to myself, my life has changed in so many positive ways. My body and mind are stronger, healthier, and I feel that athletic rush I did as a kid again. You say do what you love, I found out I loveee lifting weights and I hate running, who knew?! I am making progress each and every session. So when I see you busting your ass each and every video, progressing, learning, and rediscovering your passions in life, it makes me smile because I want to keep going too. Thanks for always sharing and being open and honest about your journey. You are truly an inspiration. And I pet my dog after every video for you. Sending love from brooklyn NY ❤️

I am so glad you posted this video! I remember watching the first one and being super inspired to try to learn how to control my hypermobility like a gymnast can. I have the bendy, I need the power and athleticism to compensate for being too bendy. Some of the exercises you do (namely, the wrist ones) I can never do because my wrists can bend backward 100 degrees, and my fingers can bend backward 90 degrees. So I am more focused on strength training to stabilize everything. I've lost 12lbs this year and it's taking so much pressure off my knees, hips, and ankles so I'm in so much less pain than I was already. It's giving me my life back knowing finding ways to cope with my disability through fitness.

I do see how your body and movements improved over months and years!!! That's amazing. You really inspire to move my body more and know, that I can achieve some fitness (or however to call that) it I try and not give up. I started going to the gym and weight lifting a month a ago. Keltie, I honestly loved this very realistic...well, reality check. Gymnastics, athletics of any kind, really is HARD and it takes so much dedication. I'm 29 now, and have been training in adult gymnastics classes about 1-2x month for the past 5 years (with a couple years off in the middle). I wasn't athletic to begin with, but I'm JUST now getting my handstand consistently (Still can't hold it for 10secs away from the wall, but that's a goal of mine too!). I can do a semi-decent cartwheel and am working on my round off and back handspring too. YOU CAN DO IT! I can't wait to see those upcoming videos!

Thank you for posting this video. It came onto my UA-cam as a recommended video, and I’m so glad that I clicked on it. I was fit pre-covid and was about 12 lbs away from my goal (I was never fit and have always been slightly overweight, and in 2019, I had lost 60+ lbs in about 8 months after becoming a teetotaler, eating well, and working out about 5-6 times a week and was more fit and confident than I had ever been in my life). Then covid hit, and being a high school teacher,I had to work from home. I gained everything back. I was beyond sad and depressed because all of my hard work had been thrown out the window, and I lost so much of my confidence that I had gotten after getting into incredible shape. Working from home is extremely difficult for me because I’ve always been an emotional eater, so when I have to get up and go to work, there is a routine, which includes meals - I work best with a routine like that.
In April, I started working out again but this time at home. I kept it up for about 2.5 months, but I was getting so busy with work that I told myself that I would try again in the summer. When I first got fit, becoming a teetotaler was what got me kick started to loose the weight and gain motivation to keep it up. The weight literally melted off of me; however, when I tried again in April, it was harder this time because I was, and still am, a teetotaler (becoming a teetotaler was a huge factor in the weight loss the first time), so the weight wasn’t coming off like it did the last time. I got into a dark place as I was feeling hopeless that I would never get to where I was before and that my confidence would never return.
I began seeing a dietitian 2 weeks ago, and at the start of this week, I joined CrossFit at a local gym that I found by accident. My non-CrossFit gym membership is still frozen until the end of September, which is ok, so going to CrossFit has been incredible. I’ve gone 5 days this past week to try it out, and I am beyond hooked!!! I feel myself sprinting out of the dark place I’ve been in since this pandemic has begun, and I am feeling so energized. I book my CrossFit workouts for either 7 am or 8 am and will continue those times when school starts again. The combination of diet and CrossFit (plus the non-CrossFit gym when my membership is not frozen anymore) is what I needed to motivate myself again, and my confidence is coming back. I’m still at the start of my CrossFit, weight loss, and fitness journey, but after 17+ months of this pandemic and feeling down and unmotivated, I’m ready!
Your video is a true inspiration 😀 Thank you for sharing your journey - you’ve accomplished something incredible! 😃

I honestly love that you posted this even though there were some rough patches on the journey. It was a great reminder that even if you hit bumps in the road or have to pause, it doesn’t mean you have to give up the goal entirely. I’m so used to seeing short little challenges on your channel, it was cool to see something that took a while, hit some snags, but that you still followed through on.

You did and are doing really well and the story was told in a consistent and entertaining way.

So so so proud of you Keltie ,your progress is amazing . I stopped working out when i started my job that's always a night shift cause i was so tired to do anything and my depression wasn't helping but i gained muscle because of work and realized how much exercising means to me cause I'm an athlete . I train Muay Thai ,i can't imagine myself doing smt else . I used to train Basketball but Muay Thai is even more meaningful to me . Thank you for making this video and showing that even though it's not easy in the end is totally worth it 🖤

You're such an inspiration to keep going and keep trying and don't worry if it didn't work for you. 2021 has been the year of the splits for me - I've never been able to get anywhere close - and it looks like my journey may also be 2 years. So great to know how long it truly takes! Thank you so much for sharing!!

Thank you so much for this video Keltie. As someone that needs sports in her life but hasn't been able to get into a pool because of covid, I feel quite helpless in my "fitness" journey and I sometimes have a hard time justifying why I want to be able to do a handstand or whatever other cool skill. This bucket list series gives me so much hope and even some kind of closure to my past, yourger self. You're such an inspiration

I'm so happy for you, and I want to send you the best vibes! From my heart, you inspire me to get active, to treat myself and others kindly, and to challenge myself to new things. When I was maybe 6 or 7, my parents had me in gymnastics, and I loved it, but I quit after about a year due to social anxiety and some drama with another girl. But I wish I hadn't - my life could be so different right now. This video has re-sparked my dream of being flexible and strong, so I hope that once I'm done with school and I get a real job, I will have a good schedule to do more than my current one-two times a week work out. You are so strong, physically and mentally, and I aspire to be like you! (Also sorry if my English is awkward)

I started playing sports when I was 4 and grew up being an athlete. But within the past couple of years, my workouts and training have fallen to the back burner. And the longer I waited to start training again, the less and less I wanted to go. But I recently pushed myself to go back and take it seriously again. I'm not the same athlete I was 8 years ago, which can be really frustrating and really discouraging. But seeing you talk about it and your own struggles with it, it's made me feel less alone and has given me that extra push to keep going. I'm not in the same place I was 8 years ago. I'm not even in the same place that I was in 3 years ago. Progress isn't instant. It takes some time. So from one athlete to another, thank you for posting this video. It's easy for us athletes to show all the good stuff, but hide when we struggle. Thank you for putting it all out there ❤️

Love this!! Glad you didn't give up girl!! I was a competitive gymnast for 18 years so I know its not easy at all!! A helpful tip would be to also include hamstring stretches into your stretching routine! Hamstring flexibility will help with your handstands, splits, and to straighten your knees on the splits all the way! Also practicing holding a handstand against a wall for 1 minute at a time will help build up your shoulder/wrist strength so you will be able to hold it by yourself! great job Keltie! Keep it going!!!

Thank you so much for this video! It is so inspirational and encouraging! I started a gymnastics challenge with a friend in January after quitting gymnastics 30 years ago for other sports, and it was so immensely frustrating to realize how I had lost the feeling for how to even move into postures I had once been able to do. Fear had taken over and kept stopping me from doing handstands, flips, basically anything that involves "falling down" , so it took me months to even do a handstand against a wall (headstands are done with core strength and control, so they were never a problem - I guess it is the fear oflosing control that stopped me), and still, I feel better when there is somebody standing next to me "just in case"....there are still many things on my list, but now I am back at gymnastics class (and I am, surprisingly, not the oldest one), I feel I am on a good way. It has also helped me a lot in other areas of my life because I used to be the person who would question her own right to live when she did not get instant results, and now I can accept that some things just take time, and that it is ok to give myself that time. It was great to see that I am not alone in this struggle. Thank you for uploading it, it felt like getting a pep talk from a friend.
