One of the most beautiful voices to ever grace the opera stage, the 50s were her very best years, along with her collaborations with del monaco, they made the most exciting opera duo ever
she was mentioned on Frasier....while the good doctor was trying to impress a young woman he had met at the opera...and was in his home.....for a nightcap.... a very funny episode where Frasier used his dad Martin to take him to the opera...who then pretended to be gay to thwart the woman's mom who showed interest in him...only to have Frasier's interest bring her gay uncle to meet Martin thinking they could "hit it off".....one of the shows funniest episodes ever!
Saw her in Chenier. Even her soft middle voice was huge. Recordings miss 90% of her voice. And she was so tall. Got her autograph!
la plus belle voix de tous les temps, viva Renata!....et le plus beau CHANT.
