Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
What is name of the movie pls
@@michealsmith8422The name of this movie is "Righting Wrongs"(1986). Also known in some territories as "Above The Law".
I'd give it a 10.
10. That was fire.
@@michealsmith8422hi
Cynthia Rothrock, the only Western Woman Martial Artist in Asian movies that had the record of surpassing even the Hollywood Martial Arts flicks. What a Legend she is!
Wasn't aware of her thanks for the knowledge. I'll have ti look into her.
She was boss in all her films truly an icon
Every cop and criminal in the 80's is a high-level gymnast kung-fu master. This is a fact.
lol truth
only china-cop
Only in HK
Less litigious in the 80s unlike today.
Better than nowadays where everyone is umbeatable because they are ... a woman.
She's the real Sonya Blade.
Thats right! Well done.
yep Cynthia Rothrock certainly is and the choreography is also amazing.
She does remind me of Sonya blade
@@HectorMars believe It Or Not But Ed Boom wanted Cynthia to play as Sonya in the video game But she was too expensive
@@MNGman28 When game Mortal Kombat game first came out, everyone knew Sonya Blade was based of from Cynthia Rothrock.
It’s the year 2024…and this is probably the best fighting scene I have seen in decades
if you want to watch this kind of action choreography you need to watch other yuen biao, jackie chan and sammo hung movies made in the 90s. these are the style of action they deliver. Raw stunts crazy stuff. no green screens and cgi. just pure athleticism.
these movies inspired me to take martial arts when i was a teenager. .
@@MotoVice ironically I just rewatched Rumble In the Bronx STILL good
@@VillainsInside3 have you watch millionaires express? it's an all around casts of hongkong action martial artists. it includes cycnthia luster, and any other japanese and american martial artist are there in that movie. the main cast was yuen biao and sammo hung with cynthia rothrock.
@@MotoVice I haven’t but been watching clips of it 👍😂
you should try watching The Raid . its 2011 movie. they came close to this action martial arts movie.
Banging moves, banging music, banging action sequences...must be from the 80's. They definitely don't make them like this anymore.
ABSOLUTELY. I feel old but really nostalgic with this.
This is some crazy good choreography. That scene where she’s fighting that woman is like something Jackie Chan would do. That creative use of a structure and insane dodging of that crazy weapon.
If I’d ever seen this movie growing up then I’m certain that I would have loved it.
Fun thing of note is that the director/choreographer for this movie is from the same Chinese Opera school as Jackie Change, Corey Yuen, so it'll stand to reason for some similarities, just a whole different tone for how the action is done for either straight forward fight or as a comedy fight.
The choreographies are by Corey Yuen and Yuen Biao who worked on Jackie Chan's films with Sammo Hung (they were friends since childhood at the Peking Opera)
It's a Hong Kong movie! Jackie Chan etc al all plied their trade there and made Hong Kong movies!? You might have heard of a bloke called Donnie Yen lol
@@andytang8679 I have, I love a lot of Hong Kong movies. Even some stuff that I know very few people have heard of. I’ve just seen few of them utilize the environment like this. But, to be honest, I’ve seen far fewer than I would like. U could probably list them all and not even fill a page.
Donnie Yen is awesome btw. I’ve never seen the Ip Man series, but the clips I’ve seen are quite remarkable.
He was also great in Shanghai Knights & if you scroll down his IMDB page you’ll fine that he doesn’t often miss when it comes to quality.
Because all of these movies were from Hong Kong, back in the 80s. Everyone did the same style things
That Yuen Biao was also something. Part of the trio. Him, Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung. Great gymnasts.
exactly! meals on wheels was legend!
This is S-tier choreography. No amount of "fix it in post" can replicate real skill. I miss the time when "action" movies required martial artists.
4:35 didn't even bother with a wig for the stunt double. crazy jump though!
Clearly an Asian dude lol
😂😂😂 I noticed that to
Its so funny how they litteraly used a asian man without wig/make up to do the difficult athletic moves 😂
The guy who was in charge of that scene was either lazy or a beginner. And when the director noticed the mistake it was too late 😂
True, but wasn't really noticeable on the old school television.
That tackle was awesome!!
Karen Shepherd, was EXTREMELY underrated and didn’t get her proper dues in the 80’s.
gotta love the 80s they gathered all western martial art fighters at the time and made movies with them in Asia
Peak Hong Kong martial art films.
This is way before the Avengers...how are they not hollywood legends today?
Avengers and all - all Computer Graphics - rather forgettable - this is RAW action which we love!
My house loved Cynthia and Van Damme movies 💪❤️🔥
Cynthia Rothrock. Man, I loved to watch her throw kicks. The choreography is amazing. I miss action sequences like this. They're just so much fun to watch.
Way much better than the so called Hollywood action imitation and terrible knockoffs
this is the real shit ! incredibly creative choreografy, no wires , no cgi !!!! AMEN
Holy shit, this movie invented parkour
Nah, Jackie Chan did it first.
@@ChristianCastleJackie made it famous but actually it was the rival company Shaw Brothers action flick kungfu stars and stuntmen that started it, they didn't get recognition and they didn't go as crazy as Jackie's level
@@ChristianCastle Ironically, Yuen Biao is one of Jackie Chan's childhood best friends (the other is Sammo Hung). So the parkour is obvious.
they trio are not just best friends, they studied kung fu together. sammo was the oldests though. @@ohjuice5867
Looks like Quentin Tarantino might have stolen some of those moves with that keychain belt for the Beatrix-Gogo fight.
Good sight!
No sh*t sherlock
The most amazing sequence is at 4:33, where Rothrock turns into an Asian man and Sheperd turns into an Asian woman.
That only proves that Asians everything are doing better than Americans
They don't make them like this anymore lol
I'm glad they don't, I'd prefer if actors and stunt doubles would stay healthy.
My teens relived, thank you so much guys. Also reminded me of my late dad, we use to watch the movies together
ahhhh Cynthia Rothrock. I remember growing up watching all these movies in the US with her and all the others in this hong kong created films.
which theater
No internet, no lag....jump! whats that 20 ft?
6:45 such a cool way to shut the door.👍
The good old days of jacket and tie martial arts movies, Cynthia and Yuen.
That’s a female Scorpion. “COME HERE!!! GET OVER HERE!!!”
Sadly, Yuen Biao, never got the attention and praises he deserved. A great humble guy and an often forgotton legend of HongKong Cinema 👍
80’s Hong Kong action movie bumps and bruises that some former actors say TO THIS VERY DAY that they still suffer. 🤨🤨🤨🤦♂️
We all ensed up trying these moves after watching 😅
80's movies were dope
Cynthia Rothrock is one of the GOAT’s!! I wonder how she’s doing now!! I grew up with the China O Brien series!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
The real golden era of martial arts we watched in movies..especially jackie chan with full on stunts wow 😊
Wow these fight scenes are amazingly good n is way difference then today action movies
they dont choreograph stuff like this anymore. high level creativity has gone out the door for high level gore, blood and bone breaking.
9/10. More please. Brings memories.
Cynthia Rothrock.. the original Sonya Blade..
Hurts girls more. One of the best movies ever
80s movies are the best
Lmao on the part she jumps and flips and it's a stunt man.
That's the super-obvious one, but this guy pops in about 20 other times in that fight; blink and you miss 'em.
That jumping over that car……damn. ‼️
Cynthia Rothrock was a bad ass. She went into Hong Kong and made some kick ass Kung Fu movies back in the day.
Oh the 80's... times were good back then.
WHAT A CLASSIC KICK-ASS MOVIE THIS WAS! CYNTHIA, A GREAT ACTRESS, A GREAT LEGEND AND A TOUGH CHICK. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻❤️🙏🏻
5:03 the splits into the knee to the chest GDAMN thats sick imo
Ah... 80's - 90's... The golden age of Hongkong action movie and fight choreography.
Truly empowered female protagonist ❤
Los héroes jamas se rinden, tremendo clásico de los ochenta !!
That 80's Hot Topic accessory belt weapon, lol. Brilliant
I had no idea ellen degeneres could fight that's amazing XD
I believe the other lady was karen Shephard who was also a martial artist
oh yeah she didn't like her in real life
Why?@@wolf44875
Before jumping cars became a UA-cam sport, there was this movie.
I'll have to watch it now, after seeing this clip. 😎
The best women fight I have ever seen.
and karen sheperd fighting against Cynthia had #1 black belt karate form in 1979 and later in the 80s
I would LOVE either one of those cars! The Mitsubishi or the Mazda!!😮
Nice cars!
Cynthia Rothrock holds black belt rankings in seven styles of martial arts and was a high-level competitor in martial arts before becoming an actress. In 2014, she was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame.
and still has a youtube channel where she posts videos periodically. under her name
Nobody can deny Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat was loosely based on Cynthia Rothrock.
The blue Honda going up and over the other car? Everyone in this scene are superb athletes.
Cynthia Rothrock, one of the best actresses who star in many action movies.
👍
You right.
Lmaooo was this before sports bras were invented 😂😂😂😂
1977 first designed/sold disagrees with that
Action stars back in the 80’s were built different
You wouldn't believe me if I told you this, but the guitar riffs make them stronger.
It's can be awesome, when this fighting scene like the raid style.
Biao yuen was super talented. Some sources say he was even talented than jackie chan. Its a shame he never got very famous.
an 11!!! cant believe ive never seen this film!
no cgi, only stuntmen or stunwomen, and martial artists !
the woman didn't say "i'm strong", she showed it !
Parkour before even Parkour 🤘🏻😭👍🏻
Everyone is athletic as f**k!!!
When stunts were real.
Cynthia Vs Karen, fight of the century
давно я такого не видал вам скажу! трюки отличные. и ох этот стиль 80-90-х. и музыка
The little boy eventually starred as Ricky Oh and then Master Jin in Ip man :)
Chi chi vs videl lol 5:50 sounded like videl scream
The 80s what a time!
9.2!!!
That was marvelous!!!
25/10, most epic shit ever.
Big fan of the old school Chinese Action stars they have to be the most creative choreographers I've seen in my childhood.
Wow these ladies at the end ..... 😮
Never heard of this movie before, but it looks like one that I should add to my collection. 🙂
That bumbling cop is Corey Yuen. He cameoed in the film.
Excellent
Wow, they never get bruised or tired.
Yes madam movie very good movie very good hindi dubbing michelle yeho very good chines actress
Love the movie so much 😅
What's the name of it?
@@philly2009ify «Righting wrongs»
Classic Hong Kong action:
“You got a death wish?”
“Kinda?”
“Good, we need that in an actor.”
😂
damn, not only do these ladies kick ass but they are also shapeshifters :()
The eighties... every housewife was kungfu fighting...
This was back in the days when there was no taser and every police officer had to be an expert at kung-fu and parkour.
Now they are all fat crap.
Did I see the grass bounce when the guy jumped from the house at the end? 😆😆
Yuen biao was amazing..especially when he acted with jackie chan and samohung hehehe
Jack-e-Chan, another 1️⃣ bites duh dust 🎵. Jackie Chan x Christine 1983.
I gotta go back and watch this again lol
Cynthia Rothrock!!!... 😍😍😍😍😍👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
1:40 EPIC
5:40 GET OVER HERE!!!
5:15 that was cool using the railing
Nice 👍
GOOD MOVIE
FINE ART FIGHTING
Sped, up, highly choreographed, but man, you can't fault them for lack of energy! I had to laugh at that kick to the knee at 7:26. Yeah, he wouldn't be getting up after that.
I forgot about this. 80s!!!!!
This was jackie chan good. And with how old this look it could have came out before i watched jackie chan. Pretty dope though. You have to have so much energy and core strength to do have the stuff he did.
You grow up watching this, and you’ll understand why the fight scenes in the John Wick movies appear to be in slow motion.
Yuen Biao, directed by Corey Yuen and choreographed by both, came from working alongside Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung (friends since childhood at the Peking Opera), one of the best that can be found in martial arts films of the 80s
Yuen biao es more flexible and more fast than jackie chan 😂 and is underrated actor
@@RichKing-in1iz You're right, that's why he was one of Jackie's favorite doubles. In some movies Yuen is more brilliant than Jackie, for example three dragons (highly recommended)
