I've reported literally hundreds of the Kubota Tractor Backhoe scams to Facebook Marketplace. They have populated Facebook since Marketplace started. Facebook continues to allow the ads to run.

Fraud has been around forever but seems to be especially rampant today. Best to deal with a dealer you know and trust.

Very good topic, still doing a great job with these videos. I am the one that talked to you about these videos the other week when I was picking up a new skid steer. I buy and sell used equipment for a living. I see this stuff every day. I have had people steal pictures from may ads a few times. A few big this to remember when you are the one selling a machine, if you have to have it shipped to the new buyer. Always make sure you have to money paid in full and in your back account. Many times people tell me send it down and I will send you a check. If it is someone that comes in person and pays with a check. Try to get the check in the bank before it leaves. If that's not possible ask for a copy of there drivers license, a honest person will have no problem with that. If you looking to buy a machine and something doesn't seem right, or you just want to check the machine out. You can go to NER National Equipment Register and run a Iron Check . Background check on the machine. Well worth the money

A lot of tractor dealers want waste there time to go out and look at a tractor for someone... they will want to bring the tractor to there shop by buying it and then selling to you for a profit.. they will say that they will have to charge you a fee to do that .. even if the tractor didn't exist...

I had a Craigslist seller tell me they did not have the equipment with them, and they wanted a deposit, before telling me where I could go look at it. I replied, "I understand your concern and will give you the deposit. Send me your little finger, or we can meet and I will remove your little finger. I will give you the deposit and after I examine the equipment, I will return your little finger." A few minuted later, the ad was removed and they did not reply to my email.

That's the sad thing a business or individual wants to sell something so they put the information on a sale site. Then the thief comes along steals it all. It's sad all the work they go through to steal. Like Neil said call a dealer nearby have them verify. Of the seller is honest they won't mind letting someone look it over even have it taken to a shop for an inspection. All it takes is a little common sense. If it's too good to be true it probably is

I hope you have turned that E-mail over to the authorities for investigation. That sounds like a case of very bad present or former Messick's employee attack. sdh in CT

Would be nice if your sales department was more helpful without smart remarks.

If proper English was a sign of a scam no one in the south would ever buy a tractor on Craig’s List.
