My dear old Dad, GOD rest his soul, gave me a great piece of advice when I was but a kid, Sam. 😉 He said, son, never ever, argue with a “Mug” …!! 😉. It’s a great piece of advice that has stood me in good stead, all through my life, and I’m glad to hear that you, are also, following the same advice. 😉👍

Tested this one after I asked my Peugeot dealer which EV I should get to replace it (3008). “Comes from the same manufacturer so it drives like a Peugeot which is their benchmark. High quality as you have experienced with your Pug. Go ahead and test drive it you will like it. “ He was right, I liked it even better than NIO ES6.

    Hi Sam
I've had this on my mind for awhile and after seeing your recent video 5am this morning: Voyeh Free EV - UK Bound I had to finally put pen to paper so to speaking … When I read a lot of EV reviews or watch YT
videos mostly yours I hasten to add … The UK journalist in my view are very positive and this was also the case with the Ora Cat 01… I do at times think you are overly positive. I remember you stating in one of your videos that the UK will be getting the Ora Cat 01 in January … I thought to myself that’s never going to happen… I found out about this car in Nov 2021, signed up to the company official UK website which is limited in it’s depth of information, in fact you tend to have more information than the official European website. After several months I received a basic email asking potential customers what colour combinations do you like and that was it … After anxiously awaiting information this is all we received. Now, 5 months down the road nothing from a company that was boasting of opening pre-orders in Jan 2022 which never happened. I’ve even heard that there’s a test drive vehicle soon to be available for journalist I’m sure which is going to be a left hand drive variant! Similar practice I believe you guys experienced with the BYD Atto 3. We do have a decent level of choice with 172 EV cars available in the UK but that will represent many models from each brand. I just checked our best resource: EV Database .uk and we have 10 new EV models coming available 2022 alone which is good. Though I enjoy all the news about the Chinese market and I would love to have the option of purchasing BYD Han - especially convertible if produced, Nio ET5, and my favourite X-Peng P7 but we won’t see any of those cars here any time soon… That said BYD are impressive with their factory build expansion plans and even rumours of a factory in Thailand I believe to build righthand drive variants. Ora may purchase an old auto plant in Spain to manufacture the European market vehicles apparently but I won’t be holding my breath. In conclusion, I don’t hold much confidence Voyah Free EV reaching these shores any time soon say within 2 years if at all… However, I will post again if I am Happily proved wrong!
Kind Regards - StanDMan London UK

I've also gone onto their website and still can't find this review 🤷

@@b4804514 Maybe, but I've been driving 50 years and never had a crash. I'll back myself to do that for another 20. I never feel anxious about having an accident when I'm in control. But whenever I drive a car with auto pilot features (not just Tesla) I'm totally stressed out by ghost braking, late braking and lane drift. I just want to relax and enjoy the drive, not play "driving instructor" to an wayward AI system ;-)
So far my eyes working with my brain have proven to be much more reliable than any neural processor coupled with cameras/radars etc.
The problem with AI, as I see it, is it only responds to changes in its current environment, but doesn't anticipate what may change in the situation ahead. Anticipation is a basic skill that all new drivers are taught if thay have a good teacher. But imagining the future is a distinctly human behaviour. For example, when I see a child running from their front yard towards the road I will anticipate a worst case scenario where they run out onto the road, and reduce my speed. The FSD vehicle will only react after the child steps on the road and then brake violently. I know which response I prefer and would argue is safer.

@@MarksElectricLife Father time is undefeated. You THINK you can drive safely for another 20 years, but you do not know that, period. If you've been driving 50 years I'd guess you're roughly 65-66 right now... even 10 years from now when you're 75-76, FSD will be exponentially safer than you, by a wide margin. You cannot fight this fact. It is coming :)

    • @MarksElectricLife
      @MarksElectricLife 2 роки тому +1

@@thestonksmarket1897 No argument that my skills will diminish, however the onus is on FSD developers to prove they can out-perform me at any age. Right now I would say they can out perform an intoxicated driver and so perhaps there should be circuit in the vehicle that forces you to use FSD when your BAC is over a certain limit. Down the track (maybe before I reach 80) the neural processor will become a quantum computer. IMO that is the only thing that could "imagine" all scenarios in the real world, compute their probability and choose/execute the safest response (what a human brain does all day long).

As Steven Jones comments many times here, the car tested is a hybrid (well a range extender, i.e engine drives generator). Do some research Sam.
    The review states….
Key to the brand’s success in Europe will be Voyah’s focus on electrified drivetrains. The FREE is available as a full battery electric vehicle or a range-extender EV. In the REV, which we drove, a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine charges a 33kW battery. Total range here is 534 miles on the NEDC cycle, 87 of which are pure electric. By comparison, the full EV can travel around 300 miles, dependent on if you specify single or double motors.

The Voyah Free and the Huawei SF5 are the same vehicles, just rebadged. The Huawei implementation of the lane assist is abysmal.
The effective range much lower than advertised. Volkswagen ID6 and ID4 are definitely the better hardware and software combination. Even so the ID series screens are too small compared to the Chinese competitors.

Hopefully these EVs will open the flood gates for the massive variety of Quality EVs made in China today.
Again - EVs are NOT racing against each other for dominace. EVs are racing against US as we continue to pollute. Our saving grace will be the broad use of EVs all around the planet.
