I remember when i wasnt using a rinseless dampened towel to remove polish residue. My arm and shoulder ached for hours. This tip was a game changer for me. Thanks again guys
i have watched many...many...many of your videos but i really like the ones like this that cover only one specific aspect of detailing, polishing. now when i'm polishing i can refer to this vieo and find the info i need quickly..thanks
Yvan/Nick, I have subscribed to your channel for quite a while, and I must say that this is one of my most favorite episodes. It was simple, applicable, and resonated with many of the DIYers such as myself. Thanks. Costa
Did exactly this last Saturday. Used a small paint roller tray inside a bucket with some rinseless, an old Mastercraft da sander, gold standard pad and polish. Very satisfied with the results!
Always love your vids. An advantage to wiping as you go like Yvan is doing, is that you are using differently muscles, postures to assist in changing up and not aching later. Additionally the machine isn’t being overworked if that was a potential issue.
I’ve applied the Stack (8/3y) on a New Toyota Crown (full paint, windows and wheels) a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I was able to finish the 2 coatings on a Honda Pilot (full paint, windows and wheels). I was not able to the Stack on the Pilot. I did the 8y in the front half and the 3y on the back, roof, windows and wheels. I think I stretched quite well. It came out great. We will see the effects of the difference in protection. That’s all right! For $220 I did 2 full vehicles. The only thing I would suggest is to get the vials in glass bottles, rather than metal ones. It helps to see how much liquid you have left. Thank you!
@@diydetailofficial 😂 I know. Thank you! But just like medicine, the glass usually is thick enough. Besides, by paying $150 on a 2” bottle, I treat that as a diamond. It is just an opinion, I think the benefit of knowing the level of liquid is greater than the risk of dropping. Thank you! You guys have a great product!!
Thank you so much for this video! I really like the voice over on the real time action. Everything was so clearly explained and I find it really helps, especially for beginners! Thanks again to the both of you!
Yvan & Nick, thank you for another awesome instructional video. Can wait to be totally healed from my surgery so I can get in the garage and have some fun.
Great video. As a DIY person sadly I can’t justify the full range of DIY detail so I’m gonna try this with what I got. My supplier has the 2 main ones, rinsless and gold standard but I’m gonna get Rupes yellow as that seems like the best alternative. I’ve got Gyeon panel prep already and will use Soft99 Fusso wax. I can’t wait to try this. The only issue is with myself being clumsy I’ll prob do more damage dropping the sander off the roof than scratching it polishing. No tape is really helpful but may in some areas if I feel I might catch an edge.
I would love to see a video covering the topic of your Ceramic Gloss in a more comprehensive manner. I want to see; how do you care for the pad before, during and after the Ceramic Gloss treatment, so the pad is dry and not soaked in any liquids prior to Ceramic Gloss on the pad, does this method also work on glass and anything else you can expound upon. This would be awesome because I want to try this but have some reservations about doing so. Thanks guys!!!!!
Great video! Those 2 palm sanders you used in this video, would either one of those be good to apply the APP before doing one of your ceramic coatings? Thanks in advance.
A close up before and after for expectations would have been nice. It would help people decide if this is the level of detail they want to get to or if they want to spend more time for higher level corrections
We need a 3, 5, 8 year style ceramic coating that can be applied this easily with a "sacrificial" jeweling pad. Do you think that would ever be possible?
Great video guys.Simple step to polish a vehicle. Question. When you wash a car and use quick bead or any type of bead product and you polish the vehicle, does it have an affect when using gold standard polish plus the ceramic gloss. Will it shine.
Nice video, I recently ordered a variety of your products (loving the rinse less wash!) and waiting for my 5/3 Stack to get shipped/delivered. Looking forward to polishing then coaching my car. Its already pretty glossy but has tons of fine scratches i want to address with the gold standard polish. A couple random questions: have you tried the trim/plastic coating on an engine bay? Is using Amazon to purchase your products as beneficial for you as a company versus ordering directly from your website?
Yes you can use DIY Detail Plastic Restore & Protect on engine bay plastics. Purchasing from us, or our distributors is more advantageous for you. Https://diydetail.com/pages/distributors
Is rinseless wash needed to clean the pad or is there another soap/product I can use? I only have standard soaps currently. If I need to remove some minor scratches (they disappear with water) will this method work for that? Thanks.
I'm curious about trusting the metering with the gold standard polish. It's one of those twist type sprayer tips. Won't it dispense a different amount of product depending on how tight or loose or what spray pattern I have that thing twisted to?
Can you use the gold waffle pad to strip previous protection on your windshield before applying c6 hydro glass Also when polishing glass does it remove anything as it does when you polish paint
If you plan on applying a ceramic coating to the car after polishing, then you would use rinse-less wash in your wipe off cloth instead of the ceramic gloss?
@diydetailofficial I must say, you guys have cleared up so many gaps in my understanding of polishing, and given a new refreshing take on it. Thinking back on the last time i did, too much pressure, too much polish, speed on the polisher too high, muscles cramping. Ugh! What seemed like a dreaded multiple hour task looks so much easier. Just got my order of polish n yellow pads, im gassed to try to get it done soon before the cold sets in! These videos are really gold for us DIYs, thank you!
Given that QuickBeads is water activated, Is it okay to use Quickbeads instead of Ceramic Gloss the way it is being used in this video? Works, but not recommended?
my biggest problem with type of ceramic gloss application method is that it was extremely hard for me to see the gloss being applied on a white car. ended up directly applying to the panel then one spritz to the sander
Can anyone explain me how a palm sander with like, let us say 12.000RPM does not burn trough AND is safer? I just wanna understand since i saw the RPM on a DA is much lower by example and my knowledge about these machines is limited. :)
Piece of advice: keep the sander only for the cars… no more to sand wood or other things. Otherwise, you will not be able to remove all the dust on and in the sander! And dust on the tools is not a good idea for the clear coat.

I'm curious about trusting the metering with the gold standard polish. It's one of those twist type sprayer tips. Won't it dispense a different amount of product depending on how tight or loose or what spray pattern I have that thing twisted to?
The spray pattern changes from fan to stream, the amount doesn’t change.
The trigger pushes a piston in a bore, which is the dispensed amount. The twist nozzle controls the pattern.
