Ohio State Defensive line haven’t had a holding call since week 2. Teams have been illegally holding the number 1 defense in America with not 1 single call. Hopefully things will change soon. Ohio State defensive players are classy and won’t complain about it; which is good.

@@8bitbanana No, but you just like many others underestimate ASU just because they are in the BigXII. They are no slouch winning their conference and only losing two games this season excluding playoffs. Yall make it seem like Texas struggled with Mercer or Kent State.
@analogee6858 When they had the chance to “play to competition” this season they lost twice. The only team, on paper, with the same talent as them was Georgia. Saying they play up is a complete shot in the dark.
The OSU defense team is as good as that of 2015 CFP team. The running attack may not be as good as (E. Elliott and quarterback)2015 team but the passing game is superb. In 2015, OSU played aggressively against Alabama and Oregon. If OSU continue to do so, they will win all the way. Beating almost top eight teams in the final CFP ranking.
14-0 or 28-7 is not the same as 34-0. And they weren’t playing elite teams with elite talent. Also. Texas has scored *sometimes* early but they struggle to separate. They’ve only maintained big leads against hopeless teams with no QB. Otherwise they’ve bungled it and let teams back in. Ohio States defense has far more legitimacy than Texas.
Apparently nobody can find any advantage for Texas, but if this game ends up being ugly and close, who would you rather be? Texas looked down the barrel last round vs Arizona State and didn’t blink, the last time Ohio State trailed in a game they were watching the clock hit zero against Michigan. I think if it is ugly, I give the edge to Texas. If it’s a shootout, yeah that’s probably an OSU win
Didn’t blink? Didn’t they give up like 30 points in the last 5 mins? Didn’t they have a 99.9 percent chance to win in the 4th? lol didn’t blink is crazy
Ohio State learned their lesson against Michigan. They're playing THEIR brand of football. They obviously weren't against Michigan. I wouldn't be surprised if Ohio State does what they did against Oregon, against Texas.
#1 Remember Chip Kelly called the Michigan game. #2 What do you think of an Ohio State vs. Noter Dame game, that WILL be the National Championship game.
I think there’s a real chance that Texas gets shut out. If the natty is OSU against Notre dame it would be exciting but a rematch versus Penn state would look like the Oregon game
The question for me is, can Texas dial up anything on this reinvented OSU team and who they've become over the past 2 games? I think they have a better chance because of it being 2 games in on this new identity. Also, can Howard overcome his personal history of losing against Texas? I think against the odds, Texas has enough tape to give it a real shot. 🤘
Hope it's a good close game with no controversial penalties for either team. That the Refs are fair and 👀don't make calls that make me want to throw my sneaker at the TV. 🏈🎥
Sark is a fraud. He failed at UW, failed at USC, and ruined the Falcons offense. He had the good fortune to once again fail upwards and get a job at a school with endless resources right when the NIL and transfer portal was taking off. Props to him for taking advantage of it, but scores of coaches could take this roster to where it is.
@DS-bw1tm Texas defense is the level they’ve played the last two games. Giving up 400+ yards and 500+ yards. Their stats are way inflated because they’ve played 0 explosive offenses and 0 good QBs until the playoff. Ohio State is #1 defense against real competition and teams that can move the ball. They’re also a much better offense than Texas. Look in the data. Texas played are far lower SOS. They had far less yards per play, they needed far more plays to score TDs, they had less red zone efficiency. Ohio State is like the #3 offense but because their defense is so good they get less yards. But the yards per play are where you see it.
I believe the only thing that will stop Ohio state is Ohio state. I think Texas will make plays on defense and get some stops but Ohio state can afford a little bit of a slow start because their defense is elite. I honestly think this will get out of hand. Ohio State 52-17
Texas gave up 700 yards passing, 7 passing TDs, got 2 INTs last 2 games against K state and won be 3 each time and had to score 30 points. If Howard goes for those numbers it’s over. You’re not really comparing Kstate to Ohio State are you?
3 weeks ago Joel you predicted that Oregon would beat OSU to face UGA in the championship, Both were eliminated in their first competition of play. Now you predict Ohio state will beat not dismantle Texas, who has arguably the best Defense in CFB, but beat them in the first quarter……pressure like that is what turns on EWERS. I’d bet we will get a locked in quin and he out plays HOWARD.
Skattebo punched this so called rough and tough Texas defense in the mouth lmao. One guy demolished your defense and carried the whole game and now you think stopping the Ohio State offense is going to be an easier task? LMAOOOOOOOOO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think OSU has found its rhythm. Texas would have to play better than they have all year to make this game competitive. I actually think ewers is the weak link. Everyone else on the Texas roster is very talented and consistent
Arizona State was not as good as people once thought. Stop it. Texas has an injured running game, and if they can't run on OState, it's gonna be over quick.
They won the big 12. When no one thought they would. Big 12 was miles better than the sec THIS season. Stats might not show it but Texas dominated that game for 3 quarters but when your defense is on the field for a long time they start to get tired and that’s when asu took over. Give them some credit, they are definitely good
@WhitneyGadison1 Nico running for his life and padding the stat is not success running the ball. Also Texas managed 53 yards running on ASU. Michigan had 170 yards because that’s all they can do. They can’t pass so their entire offense is running. Ohio State is statistically the top defense overall and #1 in multiple categories.
Several differences for Ohio State. This game will be indoors with LOTS of noise to contend with. This game is not being played on a home or neutral field. Will Howard will struggle when pressured by Texas. I think Ohio State is the underdog for this game.
@@GordonBombay5710 it’s basically a home game for Texas since the neutral site is in Dallas 😂… OSU does travel very well tho so I expect it to be a 65:35 or 70:30 split
For those of you who will quickly leap to the excuse of small sample size, you do understand the REASON you want a large sample size right? Its to lessen the impact of playing the directional schools on artificially inflating numbers not any other reason. With December - January stats you are dealing with conference championships and the playoffs data so arguing that small sample size makes the data worthless is ABSURD. See I DO NOT CARE what you did in August, September and October... UNLESS it comports with how you are playing at the end of the season when Quality DEPTH becomes CRITICAL. So in my sample size Texas is 49th in total defense (not an important stat on its own) is 34th in scoring defense (HUGELY important stat) allowing an average of 24 points per game during the championship season. Far more concerning is the fact that they are giving up a lot of big plays. Of the 83 teams who have played in Dec-Jan Texas is 79th in the most amount of big running plays allowed. They Look like a team that peaked at some point during the season and they look like a team that is just trying to keep things from spinning out of control and crashing in the side of the mountain.
I see a route . Texas offense goes 3 n out too often. It’s surgical one drive then they sputter. Same in the semis last year vs Washington and this years quarterfinals they can’t maintain drives against ASU. Bad recipe against juggernaut. I got a big ten rematch in the CFP. Drew allar that dude
I'm not a Texas fan but they are better than Michigan this year. If OSU can lose to Michigan at home then Texas has a much better chance than Klatt is indicating. Not to mention OSU defensive backs are pretty grabby. They often get away with it but not against Texas. Officials will be calling PI & holding against OSU defensive backs as Texas usually gets the favorable calls. This will allow Texas to move the ball. For those reasons, expecting a tight game.
Joel said the same misconception so many have said. What evidence is there that Texas secondary is better than Tennessee? Is it On Paper? Because it’s not on the field. They played no QBs all season long. 0 explosive offensive teams who light it up passing the ball. The only 2 teams with decent pass game they played were the last two weeks and they gave up YARDS to them. Clemson got beat because they are not stout on defense. Arizona State should have won and made mistakes. Throw on them. Zone, man to man, just let your receivers go up and get it because they can and they will.
Texas has a historical habit of playing to the level of their opponent which might finally benefit them this time around. 3 all Americans on all 3 defensive levels and top 3 defense is the best matchup for OSU left if they clear Texas they win it.
@Zenfye There’s no evidence this season that Texas plays up or down to their competition. On paper the best team they played was Georgia and they lost twice. Georgia is ranked 52nd on offense and Texas 17th. Georgia is ranked 30th on defense and Texas 3rd. Playing up? On paper they should win those games. They haven’t seen an offense or defense and the weapons on both sides of the ball near Ohio States level. Ohio State has seen both top offenses and top defenses in the same game multiple times. Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, all had both. Top 10, top 15 offenses and defenses. Texas is 4th best team left. Tired of people buying padded stats when they are good but not elite and they simply aren’t a good TEAM. Inconsistent all the time, penalty prone, don’t close games, coaching second half is bad.
@ playing to the opponents level Texas ranked higher in all main categories of the ball against Georgia and lost that is quite literally playing to their opponents level they had a chance to beat Georgia the second time around but didn’t they were able to stop Georgia many times but the offense can’t push the ball . But I was referring to historically in games like this. Let’s not forget the last time Texas and Ohio state played. And the way ppl are counting Texas out feels like Alabama all over again . They got a common opponent in Michigan and look what they did to Ohio state I know trends matter but . Let’s not act like Ohio State is just this almighty beast that hasn’t shown any weakness they can definitely be beat and I wouldn’t be surprised if sark pulls it off.
I usually really like Klatt's takes. On this one, he's missing so much validating data. OSU's two most recent opponents played an attacking style of defense with alot of man to man coverage. Texas doesnt play that. Give me Texas by 3.

The Buckeyes have won the last two games by 20 points, giving up less than 300 yards. Both teams were pretty good defensively. What is Texas going to do against J. Smith, Egbuka, Henderson, etc?
The over confidence is funny 🤘
Ohio state deserves to be confident, including the fans
Over confident on what behalf? Cause if you go by the last two games Taxass is in trouble. Especially if they play like they did against ASU.
@@ozaftywf7726hey they can be confident, but i see these delusional people saying “should be favored by 5.5 td’s” and “99.9999% chance OSU wins” which is the worst take i’ve seen in years.

This same team lost to Michigan at home. It’s no guarantee, though this man would have you think otherwise. I hope Texas gets it done.
Texas is overrated
@@pureblood3823Take bevo off of your profile pic😂 seen you multiple places hating on Texas
Prediction: Texas runs for negative yards and loses by 20+
If OSU loses this game, they better get out the checkbook and spend $30-40mil next year.
They spent most of that money to keep their players. Jealousy is beyond pathetic lol
Texas spent more than OSU. You really don't know that?

Let’s go 🤘🏽
Apparently nobody can find any advantage for Texas, but if this game ends up being ugly and close, who would you rather be?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of Manning in this game. He's a running QB and they may try to use him to get running game going
Ohio State is loaded. But so is Texas.
I think there’s a real chance that Texas gets shut out. If the natty is OSU against Notre dame it would be exciting but a rematch versus Penn state would look like the Oregon game
I’ve never seen OSU play like this and also they are still being doubted by some
So what you’re saying is if Day loses this game he’s on the hot seat?
The question for me is, can Texas dial up anything on this reinvented OSU team and who they've become over the past 2 games? I think they have a better chance because of it being 2 games in on this new identity. Also, can Howard overcome his personal history of losing against Texas? I think against the odds, Texas has enough tape to give it a real shot. 🤘

Texas has played Will howard before…

Texas gave up 700 yards passing, 7 passing TDs, got 2 INTs last 2 games against K state and won be 3 each time and had to score 30 points.

Everyone is doubting Texas. When stuff like this happens there could be a surprise

They won the big 12. When no one thought they would. Big 12 was miles better than the sec THIS season. Stats might not show it but Texas dominated that game for 3 quarters but when your defense is on the field for a long time they start to get tired and that’s when asu took over. Give them some credit, they are definitely good
Also to add, Michigan or Tennessee didn’t have a problem with running on osu. If they can, pretty sure Texas can too as long as the o line does well
@WhitneyGadison1
Nico running for his life and padding the stat is not success running the ball.

Uh huh uh huh now tell us about Joy Taylor.

@Zenfye
There’s no evidence this season that Texas plays up or down to their competition.
Yes OSU is really good but didn’t they lose 2 games?
I’m keeping all these receipts man… the first quarter. Are you crazy?

I usually really like Klatt's takes. On this one, he's missing so much validating data. OSU's two most recent opponents played an attacking style of defense with alot of man to man coverage. Texas doesnt play that. Give me Texas by 3.
Texas will have Howard running for his live. Mark it down.
How is everyone not talking about the fact that when Will Howard was at K-State Texas beat him and will do it again even with him at Ohio State! 🤘🏼
