I think this is so cool that y'all are on this new journey together! I wish my parents would do something like this, just to really enjoy life. They've worked so hard during their 55 years of marriage, and continue to do so, but they seldom go anywhere. May God continue to bless you and keep you, in the name of Jesus!
The struggle of downsizing is real. I love the freedom of the open road. I started out as a weekend warrior three years ago. Then I increased it to work-cations for couple weeks at a time. This year I have extended to longer times out on the road. Goal is fulltime. Now need motivation to let go of all the things that are weighing me down. Amazing to see how little we really need. Just need to work on way to financially support the journey. I too have a UA-cam channel that I need to be more consistent with. It has help me to work through things over the past couple of years. Maybe you will do a meet up. Just finding your channel today.
Hi Darlene…that’s how we started long weekends then a month, then 6 weeks til finally we decided to just do it!!! There is a lot of on line options for work from home. Continue to work with your UA-cam channel it may help financially as well.

Watching your journey is interesting. Downsizing is hard for a sentimental person like myself. Everything I own feels like it has a story & strong wonderful memories. Thirteen years ago I had two 26ft trucks in my move. Today I can probably fit everything in a 10 or 14ft truck. My downsizing continues, because I’m looking forward to full time rv living. Whatever this next chapter of my life brings, I would love to travel light. This feels like freedom. Thank you. You two are a blessing.
It really is freeing to not be attached to things. There was a lot of things that were sentimental and some thing we did put in storage with the mindset that if we didn't need it or miss it in the next 6 months it would go. Well, so far we haven't missed anything that's in the storage. We took photos, and gave some items to family to "hold" for us but when you aren't bound with stuff it make life so much more exciting.

We can so relate. When we gathered stuff together for our Estate sale it was eye-opening! I could not believe how many candleholders we had. 😳We did not film us going through the process, but we have LOTS of photographs. Ha!! We started six months out so we never really felt pressured. Our main focus was to get rid of as much as we could before we put the house on the market and thank God it worked out for us.
We are just getting started. We have a lot to get rid of. Including horses and chickens. We have a 4000sqft home and it is overwhelming, but rest assured we will get through it. We have two years before retirement and full timing but it will be here before you know it. We plan on either buying a much smaller home for now or maybe just some property and our RV, but one step at a time. Thanks for sharing😊

In Sweden, when you reach age 60, you do a ‘death cleaning.’ Get rid of everything you don’t need for everyday living. It’s a gift to yourself, and to your children. On the other end of living, my family holds on to 5 generations of *^%#. Downsizing is overwhelming. A seasoned full time RV person suggested putting basics in a storage unit for a year, in case full time RV life doesn’t work out. If you love full time RV life, you return to the storage unit a year later and sell everything.
I love the sentiment of the "death cleaning". I know from personal experience that when a parent dies the downsizing of their stuff is horrific!! We do have a small storage for some of our items but to be honest we have not missed or even thought about most of the stuff that's in there. Revisiting it in a year is a great idea!!!
@AllAboutTheBanks naw, we are working on getting a van. We think it will allow us to hit more places and spend less money on places we stay. Gas and rv parks adds up. Lol

❤ Y'all I wanted to voice an air of caution you might want to hire an company to rent or lease out your property for a steam of monthly income instead of sale your house just collect a monthly check. The company handle everything else for a small fee.✅to keep a safety net or buy an lot zone for RV parking Trust you will get tried once you want an break from moving around while exciting it's is tiresome. It will come a time when you want a vacation from the vacation. You will have a place to come back too ; please watch your coin.

This is why I teach people not to buy heavy-duty furniture, decor etc...until you are ready to settle in your retired home/location... We never know when God want us to move to the next location... Jesus said to sell all we have and follow him"...whether we belive him or not...that applies to all... Life is nothing more than a journey... Yes we do have a 10x10 storage unit. It’s not packed full but like you said we are holding on to a few item until we decide what we want to do with them.

We chose the Grand Design 376THS because it has most of the things we were looking for in a full-time RV for us. It really fits our needs. A video about picking up the camper is on the way.

Sorry for the delay in responding. We have a F350 dually with 6.7 diesel engine. GVWR is around 14000 with 5246 lbs of payload. The camper has a 20000 lb GVWR and a payload of 3722 lbs.
