      I did 20 reps with 140kg once and that was bad enough. I started to grey out by the end. With the belt and the body tension it's so hard to get enough oxygen on high rep deadlifts. 300kg for 15 is crazy.

    • @chrishayes5755
      @chrishayes5755 Рік тому +6

      I love doing high rep deadlifts. scared to get close to 1rm because I pull with intensity that will tear me up (very close to getting hernia), don't have a coach to explain or fix my weaknesses and I'm a bit paranoid. I was doing over 16,000lbs total volume in my DL workouts and went from barely able to DL 200lbs to 340x10 in 8 months - touch and go.
      45x10
      135x10
      185x10
      225x10
      265x10
      305x10
      340x10
      then just start backing down weight and stacking more volume
      nice thing about volume work is you hit PRs every single workout. could be 5 rep PR or 20 rep PR, all that matters is a PR every workout 🙃

      Eddie hall came 3rd in worlds strongest man whilst also working 10 to 12 hour days as a truck mechanic. Yes a nurse is on their feet most of the day, but the job isn't physically demanding like a construction worker, heavy vehicle mechanic etc is. I'm a regular mechanic and am on my feet 8 hours a day 5 days a week. You get so used to it that it's not even a thing anymore. We've had kids come in on their apprenticeships and they're wiped out for the first couple of weeks while they adjust but once they're used to it, it becomes normal. I go for a long walk with my wife who is an office worker and she's complaining her feet and legs are sore whereas I could do the whole walk again no problem.

    Hafthor and Eddie used deadlift suits to lift their half-ton bars. A deadlift suit generally adds 40 kgF to your raw deadlift potential. I don’t know the elastic force of the bands this man used, but I follow the armwrestling sport and I know that armwrestlers usually use 20 kgF bands to train. So, if the bands used in that deadlift are comparable to the bands I’m used to seeing, the total up-force they apply to the bar is comparable to the effect of a deadlift suit. In conclusion, this man actually lifted 500 kg with strongman competition standards.
