They rarely make investigate tv programmes now in the U.K. It’s too expensive for tv companies to make and it has legal loopholes which can prevent programmes being broadcast, which leads to losses in revenue. Plus tv is different nowadays because of the internet, cable and streaming tv, which has given consumers plenty of choices they want to see, rather than being restricted to 4 channels back in the 80’s.

The test crash didn't split the car in half as they had hoped! The welds were strong and a normal Honda Civic would have suffered the same damage! Either way, very entertaining and old school news report. 👌
Funny how they didn't show the welds after the crash test. And that 'cut and shut' team were a bunch of clowns. You don't just set about cutting 2 cars in half without making measurements first, they didn't even remove any pipework or other fittings from the bodywork first.
@@dr2stroke611 That was all for drama I reckon, behind the scenes somebody spent a while seam welding and layering filler all over it for a blend, plus complete re-fit and re-spray
Absolutely right, the crash test was added for drama and a "normal" Civic would not have fared any better. The welds didn't fail at all, even though it was a common practise, carried out by scum, back in the day.
I'm glad it isn't just me that thought this, that cut and shut took that punch surprisingly well! Fantastic reporting either way but I definitely think the guy who mig'd that civic up wants a pat on the back for his efforts! Not sure if it's the same Tony Grunwell, but doing some reading on Google shows he's still getting into trouble
Used to love this, I always thought of Roger Mellie the crook report when I see cook on tele 😂
Classic cartoon!! When he’s having a go at the elderly victim
😄
❤😂
Roger Cook and his crew have got balls of British steel I know a few times he's been targeted because he ruffled more than a few feathers.
He was last of the real reporters what we have now when it comes to news articles is either fear mongering or misinformation or trying to get clout the guy who broke out the bat makes me refer to that scene in the worriars where Ajax tells the furies that he's gonna take thier bats and turn into popsicles
Vin plate on that 405 looks like it's been straightened out with a rock. 😆
👍 😂😂
7:40 is reminiscent of the Top Gear limo challenge
Roger Cook had humungous testicles, nothing but respect for the man! there has never been another as fearless as him
Steven Seagal is.
@@davidfelix2594 Half the man that Ronnie Pickering is.
Judge: I sentence you to 3 years in prison. Grunwell: Dun fink so.
I like to think that the thug with the baseball bat is spending many years in prison.
Probably died from the skag in the late 90s him
I used to watch this when I was a kid. I loved it. The best was when a woman was hitting him with an umbrella ☔. It was so funny. They should bring a TV show like it again. Brilliant TV at its best. 😂 😂
Sadly they don’t make these programmes now. It’s not profitable these days because of the threat of court injunctions which can prevent programmes being broadcast. Plus consumers have so much choices on tv to watch that it doesn’t make much profits in making these investigative programmes.
Amazing that this was even a thing back in the day, it seems like so much work for what they ended up selling the vehicles for, but that could just be my naivety as I was 3 when this documentary was made!
@@skyrocketautomotive Why would you being 3 in 1993 affect your naivety watching something from 1993 in 2022? 😂
Loved the cook report. Wish it was still on TV other than the shite we get now days.
what a guy Cooke is, I used to love watching him on TV
I was on Rogers programs about British army bullying Roger was always a nice guy when I spoke to him...
Roger cook was great tv when I was a kid
17:05 Damn that Shogun really shifts 🤣
U bet!.. I used to own a 2.2 Honda VTEC on a J plate and remember racing one of these with a old codger in it on the Mway. Got left like dust. I was honestly surprised because not much kept up with me back then.
