This week we decide to show some of our new Butterick (and a few Vogue) patterns and discuss why we like them. There's a few chuckles in there too.
We also end up looking up a couple of fabrics to get the correct punctuation and to see what they are!
Dee has one a top she made from McCall's 8240. Dory's top she made from the Cara top off the internet.

Hi. I got crazy when I started buying fabric and patterns and got overwhelmed. My garage has bins with fabric. I am interested on how Butterick 6134 is going to look. The neck seemed strange and uncomfortable. You were both so cute and funny (like two school girls). Did someone give Dee caffine, LOL? Have a nice day. Hi Nate.
If you are used to a mock turtleneck the neckline should be ok. There is an interfacing to it to help it hold its shape. We shall see! Dee may have had a bit of caffeine! 🤭 Nate says hi! Glad you understood our humor!

Pretty sure thar faille is pronounced file....like nail file.... Google sometimes botches pronunciations.

Yes it does! 1912 is the retro of that pattern!
Dory, I also have the Butterick with the pintucks. I have been keeping my eyes out for a white gauze at a reasonable price. I was blown away by Dee's retro suit pattern. I agree that the hat would have been a lovely addition to the pattern. Have a great week and hello to Nate.

The bib in pattern 6108 I believe was also called a dickie. I think either name is silly.

On the subject of pronunciation. I’ve always said Butterick. But you pronounce it Butter-wick. Is that a regional thing?
My UA-cam subtitles indicate the ladies saying Butter-Rick as well. I thought I was hearing it wrong. If only I had never mispronounced a word or two or three 😅 Dee and Dorie are ADORABLE ❤
Pronunciation is not our strong point! But I think it's our region that calls it Butter -wick 🤣

I’ve made b6711 and be warned the neckline is super wide and even when I shortened the elastic it exposed my bra. I still love it but if I make again I will make a size smaller. I always thought faille was pronounced f- eye-ee as it is French and the L is silent.

Hmmm....we didn't see any bouncing on our end.. we will keep watching out for that.
