I despair at the casualness of dress at church and elsewhere. When I was a kid in the 60’s we dressed up to go shopping downtown! I don’t want to go back to that but I feel our culture is way too casual. I think dressing decently shows respect for yourself and for everyone who has to look at me.
I despair at the casualness of dress when flying or traveling by train. Back in the '80's, flight attendants referred to the new generation of flyers "the Clampetts." '60's-70's kid here.
It was 1992, the year of our Lord.... I wanted a new hairstyle and found a picture of Geena Davis on the cover of a couture magazine. I showed it to my stylist and walked out with a mullet. I cried for weeks, it grew back so slowly. 😂😅😂
I went to NYC once and had tickets to a Broadway show. I figured I needed to dress up, because it was Broadway. I wore black palazzo pants, a deep purple wrap jacket, and a silver satin cape that belongs to my Galadriel costume. I was WAY overdressed. There were people in shorts, lol. I did get a compliment on my "opera cape." 😊
Just wanted to send y’all a quick THANK YOU for providing such great content that makes me laugh. I’m officially calling you “MY FRIENDS” because you are truly my people.
"I see my dad in you, and I like it!" That was a great line...and I had overalls too. My parents HATED them cause they were NOT flattering. Ah...reminiscing about fashion from your youth always is fun and funny 😆
The tuxedo conversation had me laughing so much! George, you're so great! Thanks to both of you for entertaining me today. Love this show! (I learn things too, a good mix!) 😊
Trendiness has always been young. In middle school I remember being so jealous of izod dresses and jelly shoes. I was surprised to hear Rachel say that.
I think Rachael meant the level of expensive trends seen in the young. When I was in school I didn’t know what designer items even were. I wanted jelly brackets and my little pony. Kids now want designer items, $400 sneakers, Stanley cups, cell phones, Xboxes etc - it’s a whole other level of want
I grew up in a small, rural community and went to an elementary school that was K - 8th grade. In 7th grade, back in the early to mid 90's, I wore black jeans every day to school and a t-shirt, and I had a buzzed (shaved) haircut with a rat tail in the back and bangs in the front. Ahhh, memories... 🤣😂
When I started serving at church, I decided to step up my clothes and make an effort to look nicer. However, at home, I still rock what I affectionately call my 'homeless' sweater. It is a dark blue walmart brand zip-up hoodie that is stained, torn, beat up, and probably 3 sizes too big, but it is so comfy! I don't even know how long I've had it.
I have an experience to share where my husband & I went the other direction. We were invited to a graduation party for a female friend of my husband’s I’d never met. The engraved invitation said “formal attire” and “no kids allowed “. We had nice church clothes, but because of the wording of the invitation we rented my husband a nice suit & I bought a fancy new dress. We get to the party & people are dressed casual & there were little kids there! It was probably 30 years ago now but I’m obviously still traumatized by it.
Ah same! I feel like I overdressed for my brothers wedding! People were there in casual attire despite the invite saying semi-formal. And I feel bad like I didn’t get the memo 😅
Great episode! I am almost 30, I look back in my high school days and CRINGE so hard! I went through an emo trend era of black hair, checkered skinny jeans and knee high converse! The worst! I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing that now lol. Such a good laugh. 😂
Bought very elegant draped prom dresses in bulk off amazon for my matrons of honors;& an amazon basic sayin wedding dress for myself for $100;& then sewed on my own pearl & lace train& viel & cut out lace dress backing. It was awesome. People thought wed spent thousands on rentals; because theres only 1 wedding rental here on Maui,& for a 4hr use each tux or dress was $1,000. So. Groomsen just went to macys clearance & got a navy blue buisness suits. Im w/ George, sometimes buying is far cheaper 🤗
I hope the pendulum swings the opposite way soon and we go to more formal attire. I think the style being so casual has affected people's attitudes and behavior in public. So many people are out of pocket and out of line these days. I would love for decorum to make a comeback.
Clothes are for covering. Thats it. Everything else is people assigning value to something that doesn't need it. Clothes only matter if it serves an actual purpose for something. Like a hazmat suit.
My worst fashion moment was my first day of high school, showing up for a class in slacks and a sweater when someone yelled out "Shut up, the teacher's here!" They thought I was the teacher and I thought I was going to die.
Great episode. Its nice to put a face with George's "nightmare" gal, Skylar. 😂 Missing Lindsey, though. Fun Happy Hour today. Keep it up. ❤ from Kansas City
College was SUPER casual for me. I rocked the college hoodie, college tshirt, flip flops, and soffee shorts. I do like a business casual look these days, but hardly ever look put together.
Great discussion. Just wonder if George means "traditional" crocs. Women now have a Croc flat - which to me, is a good cheap alternative for semi-casual work shoe for women.
The capsule wardrobe has been fabulous. I kept my 10 favorite tops my four favorite jeans my five favorite jackets my two favorite dresses and about eight pairs of shoes I did that three years ago. Haven’t missed a thing.❤
The fashion trends they had young was the funniest question ever on the show!!!! 😂😂😂 For me, grunge 90s kinda look. Flannel around the waist with plain t-shirt and jeans cut around the ankle to fit around the hiking boots!
I struggle with dress. I grew up dressing up for church and even school to an extent. I have always loved dressing up though, so I am totally out of style with how I look, and I’m learning to embrace that again. I’m leaning into wearing tennis shoes more often, but I still love my flip flops! Also, I feel like second hand, whole sale and off-price retailers are the best places to shop!
This episode was great! This is most definitely my favorite of all the Ramsey shows. Also, I want Rachel to be my best friend! HaHa. I was actually in Nashville last summer, and when I went to Target, I was so hoping I was gonna run into her, but it didn’t happen. HaHa.
I work in higher ed and we can’t wear jeans. But also since people hardly ever come into my cubicle, I can get away with something that’s more dressed down. I wear a lot of basic tshirts (either plain colored or striped) with dress pants and black boots. My go-to business casual. But the tshirts are in great condition and fit more trim to my body. It’s comfy at least even if I prefer to have my denim.
Great show! I think it's important to put some care into the way you present yourself to the world. Super comfy/casual has a place....and that place is at home 😊 🍸also, that drink sounds delicious!
I wear a gray shirt everyday and add a gray hoodie to it on colder days, It's the best, but my hoodies were like $20/each and shirts were like $15/each
Thanks for the entertainment while I was cooking! lol.. I have to agree with the crocs, they are pretty terrible but now I find all 3 of my boys love wearing them😩 In my defense, they are so durable! Worst fashion decision for me was a baby pink velour track suit in middle school.. gross!
I used to be a sneakerhead. When I was 19. Got all my friends into it at work. In one week between about 12 of us, we ended up buying 46 pairs of shoes. 😑 One person bought one pair of $1,100 shoes. Construction was plastic and rubber. Anyways, now that I’m out of the hype I’ve thrown out all of them and since bought myself one pair of Drew’s boots. I will never go back to sneakers again. Best decision I ever made.
I think there is a deeper thing behind what JB wore and I agree with George. That was so disrespectful to his wife. She is dressed to celebrate her new business launch and you can tell he could careless and showed it meant nothing to him.
I love love love your show. You two totally crack me up. However, when I’m listening while working on a project with others in the room…..everyone comments on the loud cackling from Lindsey. They say it’s annoying. 🙄
I personally have a few actually good looking T-Shirts (one colour, very good fitting) and a black pair of pants I'd use if it's important. And regular Trekking shoes. I got my apprenticeship with that setup, and my current job as well. If you have a problem with me wearing what I feel comfortable in for 8 hours of work, then we're just not meant for each other. Then again I work in IT and "no, we don't do the camera thing here" was one of the first sentences by my team lead when I started. As long as I'm wearing clothes and look somewhat presentable, everything's fine. If I don't look presentable the only thing that might happen is my boss taking me aside and asking if everything's okay or if I'd need help with something. There's only one occasion where I'd wear a suit or similiar stuff: weddings.
Yes, post pandemic the dress code rules have relaxed significantly. People can now have any color hair, pink, blue, green, mermaid hair. People are wearing torn, ratty jeans, t shirts with pictures and sayings, strapless tops and dresses, bra straps showing, or vibrant underwear showing thru light colored clothing.
I don’t know. As a woman if my husband turned up to a very special, formal event, one in honour/celebration of all my hard work, in sweatpants I’d feel really disrespected and embarrassed. The rest of the video was amazing 😅
I grew up in public school my kids go to public school, there's so much judgement and show off bs in public school parents in the yard, in private school, nobody is trying to impress anyone they're too busy. It was really a light bulb moment for me. Who are you trying to impress?
Lol, I'm a parent of a 5th grader with a Stanley 😂🙈. She wanted a Stanley for Christmas (and then used a Christmas gift card to buy a 2nd Stanley 🤦♀️). We do nothing else trendy though. I'm way too frugal!
Great laughs today, guys!!😂 So, my 23 yr old daughter told me the new trend is young (like 8-12) girls are at the mall with mom & dad's credit card spending big at.....Sephora!! Wth?? $314 a month on sneakers?! I don't spend that much in 5 years on shoes. Get a good pair around $100, lasts anywhere from 2-3 years of daily use. Insane.
I am just behind baby boomer age. My doctor wore jeans with holes yesterday. I restrained fits of laughter since I wondered if I am not paying enough for her to buy good jeans!
Buy 2nd hand people! I have 2 beautiful silk(!) dresses I can choose from for any fancy occasion, and they cost me 200€ combined. I wash them cold by hand. This episode needed a photo slide show with pictures of how they wore the items described. 😊

Always enjoy George's mention of Winston and his hatred towards crocs
The Kirkland King and Rachel are my favorite duo, 😂😂😂 thank you for making finance content so fun!
Kirkland King and Amazon Queen 😂
Now I’m picturing George as a slightly happier goth teen who still wanted to be dark, but not quite black dark so he chose dark brown instead 😂
It was 1992, the year of our Lord.... I wanted a new hairstyle and found a picture of Geena Davis on the cover of a couture magazine. I showed it to my stylist and walked out with a mullet. I cried for weeks, it grew back so slowly. 😂😅😂

I’m with you, George. I hate crocs with a passion.
George, I wear solid (no holes on top) crocs to work- 😂 but I work in a drs office! Most comfortable pair of shoes I own!
"I see my dad in you, and I like it!"
That was a great line...and I had overalls too. My parents HATED them cause they were NOT flattering.
Ah...reminiscing about fashion from your youth always is fun and funny 😆
George is a hoot. Love the humor.

George!! I hear you!! As an extra petite woman, I totally get this!!😅❤ For my own wedding, we ordered a size 00 and I still had to get it altered.
As a shorter human I can relate with George's suit size struggle.

Worst style I bought into was the baggy jumpsuit with heals in the late 80’s early 90’s!
9:46 Peter Manning makes a tux for us, George

I absolutely hate seeing pajama pants worn in public
Good mornig, beginning my day with a good laugh included! Love it!
I love her description of the YL wardrobe. 😂
It feels like this one needs a part 2!
My worst fashion moment was my first day of high school, showing up for a class in slacks and a sweater when someone yelled out "Shut up, the teacher's here!" They thought I was the teacher and I thought I was going to die.
I love you guys I laughed so much George you’re something else ❤
George reminds me of the Miami Dolphins Coach Mike McDaniel lol
Great episode. Its nice to put a face with George's "nightmare" gal, Skylar. 😂 Missing Lindsey, though. Fun Happy Hour today. Keep it up. ❤ from Kansas City
Love this one! Maybe explore luxury purchases?
Capsule wardrobe is the best.
Skylar is so dope! Glad she’s on the show!
You guys are the best!
I had a brown maxi skirt.
And a brown velvet top.
And a caramel color jacket.
I looked like a candy bar
College was SUPER casual for me. I rocked the college hoodie, college tshirt, flip flops, and soffee shorts. I do like a business casual look these days, but hardly ever look put together.

I so need to do this. I have 2 walk inclosets and 4 dressers full of just clothes!
Omg I’m laughing all thru the show you are amazing I love your show can’t wait for the next one
Back in the early 80’s in our area there was “Sexy Sunday”. A little too much for church but not quite cocktail dress. 😂😂😂.
The fashion trends they had young was the funniest question ever on the show!!!! 😂😂😂

Uggs with the mini skirt and polo tee - spiky ball earrings - 🙈
Where has Lindsay been at?
Crocs used to be popular in the medical field
you guys should do an episode on weddings!!!
This episode was great! This is most definitely my favorite of all the Ramsey shows. Also, I want Rachel to be my best friend! HaHa. I was actually in Nashville last summer, and when I went to Target, I was so hoping I was gonna run into her, but it didn’t happen. HaHa.
I donate bridesmaid dresses to an organization that collects prom dresses for underprivileged teens.
So good of u. I know of someone who benefitted from a beautiful 2nd hand bridal dress that fit her perfectly. Best wedding gift.
Docs are PERFECT for HOSPITAL work ! I do wear only comfortable shoes at work..and I do wear SOCKS WITH MY CROCS
George pulls off Great Gatsby vibes
I'm a lifeguard and lots of us wear Crocs on the pool deck! They're easy to slip off in a hurry, and have grippy soles!
I work in higher ed and we can’t wear jeans. But also since people hardly ever come into my cubicle, I can get away with something that’s more dressed down. In grade scool Parker Pens with the large mushroom tops and the leather cord to wrar around your nevk, were the cool thing to wear 😅
George is hip! And funny!
Chi O right here, sister
❤💛❤️💛
Rachel asking if they had a”pre-teen” section 😂 for renting tuxedos!
Thank Hod I am a medical professional where the UNIFORM is the norm..I am saving so much money on clothes!

We have a farm, now, crocks are spring boots for feeding chickens ;o)
I have knock off Crocs I use as my gardening shoes.

Love Skyler already!
For me in 2001 it was all about the fake tan. I was so orange for a time.
@SmartMoneyHappyHour - For the inquiring minds who need to know, what boots are George wearing?
They look great!
Nisolo!
I hate social media. Bleck. I tell my kids they can’t have a smart phone until they can drive and can pay for it. Hoping I can hold off.
I personally have a few actually good looking T-Shirts (one colour, very good fitting) and a black pair of pants I'd use if it's important. And regular Trekking shoes.

Ok am I late to the game? Is there a PDF of all the cocktails/mocktails of all these drinks and pictures? Michael???
Rachel was savage in this one. 🤣
In high school I wore baggy rock band tees, flared jeans, and Etnies. 😂😂 I have zero answers as to why…
The popped-up collar was a trend that I participated in. smh... never again.
Yes, post pandemic the dress code rules have relaxed significantly. People can now have any color hair, pink, blue, green, mermaid hair. Where are the pictures of Rachel in college and George in high school???
This one had me cracking up the whole time! 😂 But JB - show some love to your wife and dress like a gentleman, sir. 😉
As they review work worthy apparel, I noticed Rachel is dressed like Steve jobs with a black turtleneck and jeans. 😂
Lol, I'm a parent of a 5th grader with a Stanley 😂🙈. She wanted a Stanley for Christmas (and then used a Christmas gift card to buy a 2nd Stanley 🤦♀️). We do nothing else trendy though. I'm way too frugal!
😂😂😂❤❤❤
Tux from the preteen section
Love my PJ....😂
Great laughs today, guys!!😂
So, my 23 yr old daughter told me the new trend is young (like 8-12) girls are at the mall with mom & dad's credit card spending big at.....Sephora!! Wth?? She said when she was there one day a child racked up a $900 bill on vitamin c cream, WRINKLE cream for the eyes (we all know that on par with platinum prices 😂) and so on. The salesperson gladly accepted her parent's card and off she went. Alone! Then she said that is the new thing is children using ladies facial stuff. Sooo, last night I saw a Neutrogena commercial with Jennifer Garner and she said "What's the right age to start your retinol routine? Whatever age you want!" And the costar of the commercial looked 12...like her big girl teeth were fairly new!!! I was floored. I started Walmart under eye cream at 21. My daughter started at 14. Which I thought was ridiculous. But it was Walmart stuff (like $8). Not $45 retinol cream and dang sure not spehora. Not even Ulta!
Also, Rachel, they make matching kids Stanley cups , just for Amelia!! They're actually really cute. But I think I'd buy mine on Temu or Shein😂😂😂 just a thought to keep the girls in the loop without breaking the bank! Love you guys lots!!❤❤❤
I have heard the same thing about teenagers and their skincare. One of my friend’s niece got a skincare fridge for her birthday. As apparently that’s a big thing too. Omg.

Justin Bieber looks like he just rolls out of bed to go anywhere.
ASOS is the site.

Wouldn't hurt you to have a little respect for other cultures and traditions
On the Guilty as Charged I thought for sure George was gonna tell us about his super wide legged JNCO jeans back when he was a sk8r boi
My best friend wore them. I could never get behind the trend, even at 10 years old.
Y’all remember the paints that you could turn into shorts 😅
“Damper” 😂
Also, crocs should not be worn period.
Yooooo crocs for hospitals❤❤
I want that drink
I agree with george
Crocos should not be worn in the work place
